Had the best time on the Na Pali snorkel picnic sail. First off, the views are epic! Worth attending just to experience the views of the dramatic and breathtaking Na Pali coast from the water. This was my second time doing an adventure with Capt. Andy's. I did a Catamaran sunset sail about five years ago. This time I did the Raft Cave Patrol. Ted and Izzy were amazing and made the adventure so much fun! I learned a lot about Kauai and the Na Pali coast, and you could tell how eager they were to share everything with us. Hard to believe that our experience is one of few. The sunset dinner cruise was nothing more than a race through choppy water to the Napali coast, spend five minutes taking pictures, turn around and eat (if you were not green), then race back through the rough waters to get to the spot for the hazy sunset. The best part of the trip was then gliding into the harbor so that we could get off the boat. 27 people were on the boat, 4 puked into sick bags and our group of five was not far from losing our stale meal. I posted a reasonable review on Google which was flagged as "Fake". Don't be fooled by the reviews. They will only allow positive comments trickle through. The crew was well trained and they tried to make it a nice experience, but I think the trip is too far and requires racing through the ocean to get there and back on time. On another note, there is an 8" stress fracture on the port side of the craft. As we submerged and surfaced the gap expanded and contracted. You may need to get it addressed soon. read more

The water conditions were too rough/not good visibility to actually snorkel (understandable in winter) which was a bummer, but the team was so great that we weren't even bummed. Excellent service. The best boating experience on Kauai, bar none!! What a fun adventure seeing the Na Pali coastline and the meal was OUTSTANDING!! It starts out with a tasty salad and then the main event was an 8 ounce perfectly cooked filet mignon with 2 shrimp, carrots and asparagus and garlic whole potatoes. We all agreed you couldn't find a better meal at a steakhouse!! For dessert, we were presented with key lime pie. AMAZING!! Of course, the view from the catamaran is unbelievable as you get up close to the Na Pali coastline! Finally, not enough can be said about the support crew on the catamaran! Starting off with Captain Jackie (outstanding!) and continuing through with Kevin, Mike, Rihe and last but not least, the highly qualified chef, Garrett for grilling the fantastic meal right there on the catamaran. We went on the Snorkel Raft tour while on our Honeymoon. We had so much fun and got to see so many dolphins and explore various caves. We had Captain Victoria and Keanu as our guides and wouldn't have wanted anyone else. Big shout out to them for being the best! I can't speak of this place more highly! My two trips that I have taken with them over the last two years were both fantastic! In particular our most recent trip in 2025 (in the immediate aftermath of a tsunami scare) was especially commendable. Captain Scott and his crew of the Southern Star catamaran out everyone at ease, and gave us a fantastic tour of Napali, complete with a great meal, great drinks, and an amazing ride (my two girls LOVED the bouncy trampoline on the way back). This catamaran experience is worth every penny and we will certainly return for another Captain Andy's adventure on our next trip to Kauai! read more

Had an amazing time on the water yesterday with Capt. Rob, Keanu and trainee Sawyer. The conditions were perfect which made for a great ride on the Napali Coast in the zodiac. We even got to see some whales even though it's nearing the end of whale season. The scenery was beautiful, the caves were awesome especially seeing waterfalls through caves. We got to see almost the entire coastline which is more than I have seen in past boat rides. But what made it was the crew. They were fun, friendly and had a lot of knowledge and some great jokes. My husband and I came to the island this week and it was highly recommended that we do some of the excursions on the island through Captain Andy's. At the beginning of our trip we booked the Catamaran Sunset Sail and it was absolutely incredible! I can't say there was a single thing about the sail, crew, and food that I would ever change. Every single thing from beginning to end was seamless, amazing, and absolutely worth the cost. The crew made it even more amazing by truly seeming to care and get to know you and where you are from. The food is always fantastic with Captain Andy's! We also booked the Nāpali coast 6 hour snorkel and lunch excursion. I will never forget Captain Maddie and Kama. Literally the best crew we could have ever asked for!! Being the day after this excursion now with some pretty great wind swell yesterday on that side of the island, I feel like I just road a horse for 2 days straight so I am glad I booked towards the end of the trip but it was totally worth it!! What a freakin blast! The views were amazing, Capt. Maddie and Kama were a wealth of knowledge and kept us entertained the whole time. When Kama put on a raincoat we should have taken that as a hint ;) be prepared for 6 straight hours of fun with these two and bring sunscreen and get ready to get drenched. PS captain Maddie has a killer playlist to rock out to while you get rocked with fun and waves. We had a wonderful experience on our sunset catamaran ride on the Na Pali Coast. The captain, crew and chef were all friendly and knowledgeable and we had a great meal. We've done the catamaran tour here previously and my only concern compared to their competition is that the boat wasn't positioned from both the port and starboard at the best photo spots. We were sitting on the port side and expected to get our photos when we turned around but the captain went further out to sea to set sail It didn't stop us from having a good time, even in choppy waters, but something to be aware of. We did both the Napali Coast catamaran tour and the sea cave tour with Captain Andy's, and they were unforgettable! The highlight of our trip was Captain Rob and Bronwyn, absolutely outstanding. Captain Rob's skill and confidence made us feel safe even in big waves (and his grin the entire time said he owned the ocean). We had a really fantastic tour of the Napali Coast with Maddie and Sawyer. We did the Zodiac/ beach excursion. It was a day when there was a big swell and our Captain, Maddie, was phenomenal!! We all felt at ease with her and couldn't have picked a better person to navigate the swell! The coast was amazing and we were surprised how good the food was! It was a really delicious lunch for us all that I wasn't really expecting. Exploring the fishing town was also a treat. The guides are so knowledgeable about Hawaiian history and culture, it made it so fun and interesting. I would 100% recommend this trip and these guides!! read more

Exceptional. Worth every penny. My family of four enjoyed the sunset dinner cruise and it was fantastic. We were originally scheduled for a certain day but due to the seas being too rough, they re-routed to the south rather than go towards the Napali coast. They gave us the the option to postpone or cancel, we chose to postpone until the next day. While that was somewhat disappointing since the vacation had certain things scheduled, since we were down that way, we shot up to Waimea Canyon instead and came back the next day. Wise choice, because even on a good day, the jog out to the halfway point can be rough. Expect to get wet unless you spend the whole time in the bathroom. It's gonna happen. Amazing, classic views of the Napali coast! Captain Dane was a great tour guide, the crew was exceptional and waited on you and tended to your every need. We became friends with the crew. And why not? Once you reach the halfway point, it is a much smoother ride. Captain Dane found a calm cove like area to idle while we ate dinner. The bar doesn't open until the halfway point, and for good reason. There is no way you enjoy a drink when going up and down on the regular. We got to see humpbacks, but that is not a guaranteed thing. Once we got back to port, it was sunset time. Again, captain Dane put the boat in idle and dropped some sick sunset beats as we watched the sun dip past the north tip of Ni'ihau. In fact, the playlist the entire trip could have been curated by me, so I was very pleased with the tunes. If you choose one extravagance, one slapping down of the credit card on your visit to Kauai, this is it. I thought I had high expectations for our Sunday cruise with Captain Andy's Sunset Dinner and Cruise in Kauai (July 24,2024) but our expectations were far exceeded as soon as we picked our seats and looked around at our fellow sailers. Dane, the Capt was professional, and funny, very informative, with excellent PR skills. Mica, his First mate was a bartender, cook snd always seemed tight there when the waves made you think you might fall - but didn't due to his strong legs and arms. Julie the cook served great appetizers and a super varied dinner for 49 guests in one of the most challenging and gorgeous settings. And then there was Logan. A super charming guy that remembered every persons name and personally connected with every child and adult - over and over during the whole 6 hours. The scenery and sunset couldn't have been more perfect. This sounds gushy but doesn't describe how neat this experience was! read more

Despite the rough ocean conditions the Captain did everything he could to make it a smooth ride with lots of history, stories and dolphins to see! The crew was super helpful too! I wish I was leaving a review based on my experience on my catamaran sunset cruise but I am not. I made a reservation the day prior to the sunset cruise I booked for my wife and I, and the next morning (day of cruise), we both ended up sick & unable to keep anything down. It was the last full day of our trip too. The cancellation policy mentioned 24 hours prior but I figured I'd call and see. To my surprise, I was refunded in full about 6 hours before the check in time. Very nice, very helpful, and I will not hesitate to book at Captain Andy's again. We booked the bbq sail for Napoli coast - due to high waves we were offered to either cancel or go to south south shore - we agreed and had an amazing experience. Captain Matt and his crew Chloe, Braden, & Tina took great care of us and were all easy going and fun to be with. The boat was awesome,the food was delicious (even served warm cookies for dessert!), and the views incredible . We saw several pods of dolphins and a few whales and turtles. Amazing sunset cruise. We were on the red boat for the 2pm ride for the sunset cruise. The catamaran wasn't fully booked which allowed us to spread out and enjoy ourselves. The captain did an awesome job giving the tour and really made the ride fun. The staff were very nice and the food and desert was better than expected. We had an amazing time on the sunset dinner cruise with Capt Andy. The crew were enthusiastic and obviously love what they're doing, making it fun even when giving out the rules. We saw so many whales! While the winter weather can make the seas rough, we lucked out and had a mostly calm journey. Please know that you will get wet. Your gear will get wet. Everything will get wet. Don't wear anything that will be see-through when wet. One unlucky lady pretty much gave everyone a show when her sundress became drenched. There were some on board getting seasick, but if you stay topside and watch the horizon, it lessens the effect. Definitely bring a waterproof cover for your camera. I had mine in a plastic bag during the splashiest part and my camera survived just fine. The food was fantastic and, if you're feeling queasy, they will box it up the food for you to take with you. read more

Took a sunset catamaran cruise of the Napali coastline with Captain Andy's on June 4, 2025. Captain Claire did a fantastic job of commanding the boat throughout. She took a short detour to allow us to view a pod of dolphins and gave us sufficient time to take photos of the sights, including a beautiful sunset. Chef Pablo prepared a fantastic steak dinner, including a fresh garden salad and wonderful dessert. The filet was super tender and very well seasoned - better than some 4-star restaurants I have been in - all while we were bumping around on 5' + swells!!! The rest of the crew were very attentive to all our needs - our glasses were always full!! A great time was had by all in our party. Fun, exciting and fulfilling!! read more

This is my second time doing a Nāpali zodiac boat tour, and LOVED the experience just as much as the first time. Capitan Jacob was incredibly knowledgeable and made us feel extremely safe despite some unfavorable conditions. We unfortunately were not able to snorkel due to the conditions, but we did get to do EVERY sea cave which was absolutely rad. My only gripe is that the assistant took only 1 photo each time we asked for a photo and someone in our group had their eyes closed on nearly every shot, so just specifically ask them to take like 10, and you'll probably have a better experience. All in all, the highlight of our trip. read more

The only suggestion would be a third crew member down in the galley to serve drinks. My husband went downstairs 3 different times to try to get us a soda/water but no one was down there. TLDR: If you can do a private charter or something more personable then do it, otherwise this is arguably must-do, just expect a very touristy experience. Seeing the Napali Coast while you're on Kauai is a must-do, everyone will tell you that. The views are beautiful and worth it, but the company is providing the experience (which I'm reviewing here) and not necessarily responsible for the beautiful views. Some of the other reviews blame them for bad weather or people getting seasick. I think that's unfair as they don't have control over those things. The catamaran is nice and it wasn't packed. I honestly expected it to be much more packed than it was. Captain Larry was great, the crew got us there and back safely, and we were able to see spinner dolphins. Everything else however was fairly mediocre. Snorkeling couldn't have been more than 20 to 30 minutes max. Seemed very short and we saw some fish but the quality was lackluster. It was fine for what it was, but don't expect any real quality snorkeling time. What made the whole experience odd was the attitude of the crew. It was either one of two modes: very overly plasticky nice or weird standoffish and rude. I don't prefer either one; just talk to me like an adult. I can see where some tourists might find the plasticky niceties appealing though, to each their own, but sometimes it felt like crew members were singling out certain families to be nice towards. I asked one basic question politely to a crew member and she began talking down to me as if I were a child. She had a smug look on her face when the exchange was over as if she got off on it. I only hope this was her weird sense of humor or maybe she misunderstood the point of my question, but I would never talk to someone like that in a professional setting. I ignored it until later when I joked with my wife and she said she had a weird experience with a different crew member herself. We chalked it up to these experiences being assembly lines for tourists, get in, get loaded, get to sea, get back etc. I can only guess we didn't fit the mold for their usual clientele. If I ever want to see the Napali Coast again I'll find an alternate method. read more
