I used to be a one stop shop at USAA for mortgage lending/insurances/etc. My realtor (a friend) suggested I compare rates with Deborah Ginac and Capstar Lending. After going through the approval process she noted a loss I took in a company I owned may preclude me from qualifying, something USAA did not even ask about. She told me the steps needed to resolve the situation and once resolved she indicated that we needed to get IRS transcripts because I am self-employed. Because of the government shutdown there was no one at the IRS to give the transcripts and we were slated to close in two weeks! Deborah moved heaven and earth to find an investor who was not concerned with the IRS transcripts. She found one, whose lending period ending 10 days before our close date. We moved up the closing date, and now we are in a great house! There is no doubt that we would not have received the transcripts and closed on this house (there was a back up offer.) If it were not for Deborah, we would not be living here. I will always recommend Deborah Ginac to any friend looking for a lender. read more

I will never work with another lender, Todd Kurio and his team (Tamri) are the absolute best. He helped me buy my first home, refinance that home, and then most recently close on my dream home. All of these scenarios were outside the norm as for my first home I used a city program to help with the down payment, and my most recent home required an incredibly quick turn-around. While it was incredibly confusing as a first time home buyer, Todd took an amazing amount of time to walk me through step by step all the foreign terms and concepts without making me feel stupid. And he answered my multiple calls with an extreme amount of patience. With my most recent home purchase, he helped my fiance and me think out of the box to get us into our dream home in a way that made good financial sense for us. I cannot recommend him highly enough - and I do, to all the people I care about. So take my advice- work with Todd Kurio and Tamri Carrington and you will not be disappointed. Actually you will walk away feeling more informed, confident, and appreciative for the amazing work they do. read more

We worked with Deborah Ginac at Capstar lending to finance our purchase of a new construction and she was awesome to deal with! The builder had a preferred lender and offered a financial incentive (a certain amount off of closing costs) to use their lender. I started a pre-approval application process with them, but found them challenging to work with. Deborah came highly recommended by a friend, so I decided to call her, too. From the first call, she was so much more pleasant to deal with. She also offered to match the financial incentive so that we would not be losing anything by going with Capstar instead of the builder's preferred lender. She made the process as simple and painless as possible, and was extremely responsive and accessible along the way. I highly recommend her and would use her again if the occasion arose. read more

I am writing this review - to say thanks and also so others will read this review and learn about this because I did not think I could buy a house without more in savings. My realtor, Dave Bair, referred me to Todd Kurio with Capstar Lending and Dave told me to ask about any mortgage assistance programs that may be available. Todd told me about a program through the Southeast Housing Corp called SETH, which is a down payment assistance program that gives you a grant for the down payment and closing costs. One of the facets of this program that I found particularly appealing is I don't have to pay back these funds! All I had to do was put up $1000 when I signed the contract and then I got back about $400 of that money back at closing. My daughter and I will be swimming in our new pool this weekend. Thanks Dave and Todd read more

This a long overdue THANK YOU and appreciation to Estella Galan at Capstar Lending. My wife and I were amazed at her professionalism and expertise at her job. We decided to buy a new home back in March 2016. I was going to use one the banks but it was suggested that I try Capstar Lending, I didn't want to but I did. It was the best decision I made in the purchase of this new home. Sometimes when you co-sign for your children you get a few bumps along the road. Well her team worked hard and steady with me to correct things and in a short period of time we were in the new home. What a great Company with a superior employee like Estella Galan. I will recommend this Company and Estella to anyone who wants the job done right, fast and easy. Charlie/Carmen Torres read more

I decided to sell my home in May. By July I had listed it and accepted an offer in August. Now came the daunting task of figuring out where to go and who to use. Cody and his team where recommended to me, along with a few other lenders, by my real estate agent. After a few communications, it was clear that Capstar was home. Their professionalism, attention to detail, timely and informative responses sold me. I was in communication with at least 4 to 5 different people along the way and they all proved to be invaluable throughout the process. They have gone above and beyond for me on more than one occasion which only solidified my faith in them. I would gladly encourage and recommend this team to anyone looking for a rock solid lender with A+ customer service. read more

You won't be disappointed with Todd Kurio and his staff at Capstar Lending - excellent all-round service from loan application to closing! Our recent purchase of a home in the Austin area was one of the easiest we have ever experienced! Todd and his staff were thorough and responsive. They gave us ample time to get documents to them; answered all of our questions promptly; and provided us with the best loan package available. Most everything was handled electronically, which was a big plus; and they had everything to the title company in plenty of time for closing, definitely reducing the "nerve" factor! We highly recommend Todd and his staff; Todd will be our first call should we decide to purchase another home in the area! read more

I'd like to add to the already outstanding set of reviews for Todd Kurio and Capstar. We have a great deal of experience with mortgage lending and also as a financial markets professional myself, I have a high threshold when it comes to evaluating other financial services. We had a complicated profile and were seeking a loan in a tough credit market after recent major federal regulatory changes to the loan process. Todd took the burden of the loan application and approval process and turned it into one of the most streamlined and painless processes we've ever had. We think so highly of Todd that we are already working with him on another project. Thank you, Todd, and the Capstar Team, we'd recommend you to anyone! read more

This review is for Todd Kurio who helped us to refinance the house for a better APR in June of 2014. Todd is a wonderful and very well-organized person. It took us more than a month to get everything (preparing the documents) ready. Todd has always been very patient and professional. We bought our house 7 years ago with a high APR. 7 Years later, Todd helped us to refinance the house with nearly half lower of the previous APR, and shorter years of loan. After the refinance, we save about $20,000 (and 8 years shorter) for our new loan. I would highly recommend Todd Kurio to anyone who is either looking for loan to the new home or refinance. Thank you very much, Todd. read more

I can't say enough about Deborah Ginac with Capstar Lending. She does all of our home financing and for good reason. We had went with the builder's lender as part of a new home purchase deal back in 2011. The loan process was so awful, that we almost did not close on the home. We talked the builder into letting us switch lenders to Deborah, and within a week, all the mistakes were corrected and we were able to move into our new house at a lower rate then the builder could provide. Deborah is now doing our 4th loan for home we are purchasing in Texarkana and no matter where we are in Texas, we will always use her. read more

Our realtor suggested to contact Scott Sanderson at Capstar Lending when we moved to Austin one year ago. During the first year at Austin, we were renting and making our mind on the area we would like to live at. When we were ready to buy, Scott offered us great advices on how to improve our credit score to get the best rate and 15 years loan. Scott was responsive and very proactive. Even if the process of getting a credit has become more complicated since 2008, Scott made sure all the paperwork was done correctly. At the end, we've got the rate we wanted and are very happy to be first-time homeowners. read more

Deborah Ginac made our home purchase a reality. I contacted her on February 12 to close on a house on March 1. We didn't have the funds from our existing home sale yet; our seller was dead set to close on March 1 or we would lose the house to a back-up offer, and our buyer couldn't close before March 8. Deborah did her magic, arranged a loan, and got us to closing when nobody else thought we could do it. Deborah and her staff were extremely professional, kind, and responsive throughout these stressful 10 days. Hurray for Deborah Ginac and Capstar lending. We are truly grateful. read more

Todd Kurio recently assisted my wife and I in the purchase of our second home. He was extremely professional, prompt and knowledgable. He was able to get our loan turned around within a short window at rates considerably lower than any we had been quoted. When I needed assistance with an unrelated tax question some six months later, he graciously took time out of his day to review our closing documents and set us on the proper course for correcting the error. My interactions with Todd and his team at Capstar have been exemplary from start to finish, my hat is off to them! read more

My lending officer was Deborah Ginac. Originally I was working with a different mortgage lender who set high expectations initially and then when it came to lock in a rate, I was quoted a much higher rate than the average found on bankrate.com. I immediately contacted Deborah Ginac and decided to switch to Capstar Lending. I found her to be honest, amiable, and knowledgeable. Capstar has very competitive rates and flexible options, such as 80-10-10 to avoid PMI. Deborah provided excellent customer service and I highly recommend her to anyone purchasing a home. read more

I haven't left a Yelp review before but I had to write one for Todd Curio at Capstar. I saw his yelp reviews and reached out to him about a Mortgage loan and he was extremely responsive and answered all my questions. I was buying a house from a friend without realtors and Todd was able to walk me through the process every step of the way. Gave me a quote including closing costs immediately at a fantastic rate. I closed quickly and Todd followed up constantly. I can't say enough good things about Todd and Capstar. They have a customer for life. read more

My real estate agent referred me to Lance Kotal who is a member of Cody Daniels team. Lance did a lot of work and number crunching to get the best rate on our home loan. When they say that they want the best customer service for their clients they mean that I don't think you think you can get any better customer service from any Mortgage Broker than I received from Lance, Cody, and the rest of their team. I would recommend them if you want great customer satisfaction. Will definitely use them again. Jeff Hayward read more

Loved to do business with Todd Curio. He made my loan application and processing very smooth. I had many questions and he was never late with his very helpful answers. And even now, that I am already settled in in my new home, he is there to help with with any other questions I have. And besides, he is a very approachable and kind guy. :)) I would definitely work with him again. And not just with him - everyone at Capstar Lending was very helpful. Highly recommend them. :) read more

I was given Dorothy Erminger's name by a realtor. After she FINALLY contacted me back, we were discussing credit. She stated to me that collections and judgments stay on your credit report for 10 years, which is completely FALSE! It's seven years. After her insisting this information was correct, I opted to choose another lender. I would expect someone who's in the position she's in would know a little bit more about how long collections stay on your credit report.. read more

Todd Kurio is, without a doubt, the best mortgage loan officer I have come across! In about a year, I closed on two homes. Todd was extremely helpful, professional, readily available to answer any questions, incredibly patient and quick to send the pre-approval letters (I lost a few homes to the bidding war!). He gave honest and good advice, got me the best rates possible and saw everything through start to finish and on time. I would highly recommend him. read more
