It's a new small sandwich shop in stafford. The customer service was good. They were very attentive to every person that walked in. We sat and waited for our sandwich it was a little warm in there, but it was clean. The food: we got the classic steak sandwich, and it was missing seasoning big time. The flavor was very bland. We also got the chicken Chipotle crunch that had no flavor as well. I was expecting some spicy because of the chipotle ranch, but there was none. Not my favorite, but it wasn't bad. read more

Today was their opening day so I decided to stop in for lunch. All I can say is for claiming to be "Voted Greatest Sandwich in America" I was very underwhelmed. I first walked in and tried to order the Chicken Chipotle Crunch but was told that wasn't available due to not getting the chipotle sauce on the truck. I know it's not their fault but you shouldn't open on your first day not having the ingredients you need. After being told that I couldn't order the initial sandwich that I wanted, I ordered the Homemade Turkey sandwich and the Classic Meatball. The turkey sandwich was nothing to write home about. It's just a simple Turkey sandwich but instead of deli Turkey it's made with real roasted turkey. The meatball sub was a different story. It looked visually unappetizing. The sauce had very little flavor and the meatballs were under seasoned. Both of the breads on the sandwiches tasted cheap. They tasted like bread I could get at my local Walmart on the shelf. Service was slow as expected on the first day. I hope to give them another chance down the line. read more

Came in here for lunch on a weekday and though we've had food from here before, this was the first time we have visited to eat in. The previous time was via a delivery service. Walked in and there was no one there, yet they were opened. Waited a few minutes and then started yelling for someone, no one came. Waited a couple more mins and was about to leave when a guy came from the back, he said he was dealing with trash outside. A few mins later a lady came from the back too. If they were truly dealing with trash and there were two people working, perhaps one stay behind and mind the shop while one go deal with trash. He was friendly when taking our order and definitely put on gloves to go make our food. The items we ordered tasted great! They clearly have an interesting and unique menu and this is the second time we've tried their food and liked it both times. Inside, the place look disorganized and messy! I truly hope that they get their act straight as the reviews aren't very positive and they clearly have management issues leading to these problems. They have so much potential! I'll definitely return. read more

It was ok. Chicken tasted a little off, I'll prob try the steak and cheese next time.

Quickest way to get food poisoning in the Stafford area. 4 bites in and knew it was off. Stopping there and throwing it away didn't stop it from making us miserable all night. read more

Tried this new sub shop twice. First time, about a month ago, my husband and I were a bit disappointed (ordered steak and cheese & grilled Italian). As this location had recently opened we thought the lack of flavor was maybe because of it was busy. I wondered if they forgot to add spices and seasoning, it was just "okay". Tonight we were hungry for subs again and decided to give it another try. We ordered the capastrami and grilled Italian...when ordering online we requested the subs to be extra toasted, they were not. Both of us were very underwhelmed. The subs were sloppy, lacking in flavor and for the price we expected to be wowed. We won't be returning. read more

For my first experience, I decided to not do DoorDash and pick up my sandwich in person. Idk Doordash order s always tend to get screwed up. I got the capastrami and wagyu slaw be jo. The wagyu was just ok. The beef overpowered the toppings. But the capastrami which is basically the same thing was amazing!!! Think of it how when you get to choose your protein choice for a dish and there are some instances where the chicken is better than steak, or vice versa. Yeah it's like that. The second time I ordered I got the grilled Italian and regular Italian. The grilled was my favorite. So I'll say the capastrami and grilled Italian have been my go to when I'm craving a sub. I take away one star because the bread does get soft sort of quick. I remember trying a hoagie shop outside of philly and I was blown away that after refrigeration and reheating my leftover sandwich, the bread was not soggy at all! Capriotti's get THAT bread. Your customers will thank you read more

Solid sub shop. First time at this location, previously only eaten while on vacation in Florida. Sub sizes: S - 8", M - 10", L - 18". They also have an option to "Choose Any Two" that gives you a Half sub, soup , or half salad. This location is clean, the staff was polite and friendly. We ordered take-out. Limited seating inside for approx 16 ppl only. read more

I live in Washington now and visited Stafford for a funeral. I was excited to see Capriottis here as I have enjoyed their subs for many years while living in Las Vegas. I was disappointed at the overall low review rating I saw on yelp but decided to go anyway. I am glad I did because it was everything I remembered. I got a medium wagyu cheesesteak with peppers, mushrooms and onions. It was very good and flavorful. Everything I remembered. So the quality was there I would recommend adding Mayo just to make it a little more moist. They also had stubborn root beer and cream soda in the fountain which was a nice surprise. As far as service, the whole team yelled "welcome" as I came in which I've never experienced and made me smile. The cashier was friendly and the food came out relatively fast. So if you are like me and make decisions based on reviews, give this place a chance especially if you've never been. As far as the negative reviews I read, I'll address a couple. It was more expensive than I would like to pay, yes. But it's expensive everywhere now. Blame that on inflation. It's not that much more than fast food. If you fear the comment about a dry sandwich add mayo. The bread is very soft and good but I know what that person meant as who wants to be left with more bread. There was plenty of meat. And here is a strong recommendation from someone who has visited capriottis many times. If you just want a plain turkey or cold cut sandwich this might not be the place for you. If that is you, go some where else. The subs you want to order that will leave you coming back are the cheesesteaks, the capastrami, and the Bobbie (thanksgiving heaven). Just don't forget to add Mayo. Ignore the reviews and check the place out. It is the capriottis you remember. read more

Workers have a terrible attitude. Acting like I kicked her dog. Won't be coming back here. Not sure why they have a terrible attitude when they filled an application to work here. read more

Very small portions, very bland, VERY expensive and VERY disappointing. $30.57 for a small RB and med Italian. Awful read more

Oh goodness, where do I start? The ambience was nothing special - but it was clean. The service was also fine although the workers did not appear to enjoy their jobs- almost like they tolerated customers but it was apparent they wanted to be someplace else. I was a little disappointed they don't offer whole wheat bread, but that wasn't a showstopper. I ordered the grilled chicken Parmesan cheesesteak. It was quite possibly the worst sandwich I've had in my life. I felt like I was back in the Marine Corps at the chow hall with some kind of mystery meat. Actually, I take that back -I've had better sandwiches at the Chow Hall. I'm not sure what was in the sandwich I ordered, but there was no hint of anything that tasted like chicken. It was a small sandwich and over 10 dollars. I ate about a dollars worth and gave the rest a proper burial in the nearest receptacle. We have been wanting to try this place- now we did and we won't be back - even if they offered free food. We will stick to Firehouse Subs in the future. read more

The food is dynamite! Well at least their Bobbie is. But, yes there is a but, the employees kept their gloves on from one sandwich to the next, while they used the cash register, while they grabbed a bundle of bags from a lower shelf, etc. This alone would probably keep me from returning to this location. I say probably because I love the Bobbie! read more

Very disappointed to say the least. I went on their opening day so there were a few bumps with food and service. That's understandable. The upsetting part was there were ants on the dinning room floor all over a piece of food. They were also climbing up the side of the booth. I pointed it out to the owner, 20 minutes later it was still there and no one did anything about. No one seemed to care. The bread was good, their steak was way over seasoned and the turkey was dried out. Not the Capriotti's I came to love out West. read more

My family grew up next to a Capriotti's in Delaware, and when we moved to Virginia we were so underwhelmed with all of the subs down here (and we tried pretty much all of them). Every time we would go visit family back home we would get subs to bring back with us. So when we found out a Capriotti's was opening up near us we were SO excited! The bobbie and homemade turkey are our go-to's, the cheesesteak (both original and chicken) are absolutely amazing!! While the wait can be a little long to some, it is so worth it. Every employee I have interacted with has been beyond friendly and kind as well which makes it so much more worth it! read more

Want a bead sandwich? Because this is where you get a bread sandwich. Ordered them on door dash, got two sandwiches and two soups. One soup showed up and there was virtually NO toppings on the sandwiches. My wife and I literally threw more than half away. Almost entirely bread. We were so stoked based on their commercials, but will never order again. Did I mention that their sandwiches WERE $23 EACH?!? For bread. Never again. read more

This place has really been the cornerstone of my weight loss journey. If you want to shed pounds fast I highly recommend this place. Who needs a laxative when you can choke down a dry sandwich with crusty cheese. Days later and I'm still sh1tting my brains out. Taco bell step aside, we have a new king of Hershey squirts. My guess is it was because of the glaring Indian man who wasn't wearing gloves. read more

Good sandwich shop and New to the area so it's always nice to try Nee things, I'll be back

Only problem i have is you all never stay stocked on wagu. It sells out so fast but you all never have extra frozen. Just nothing

On my Grubhub order tonight they did not fill the entire order. I was missing the dessert I ordered. When I called they said they were out but did not communicate this to me at any time during the order. I asked for a replacement and they hung up. Probably will not order again. read more

Made a delivery order and several items were missing and then I had to call Grub Hub to issue the refund that will be processed in 3-5 business days. Food that made it was just ok. Waste of time and money! read more

Sandwiches were very flavorful, albeit a little bit messy (however, most great tasting foods are). I will definitely visit them again as I imagine that the majority of the negative reviews stem from visiting when they were just opening (likely had to work the kinks out!) read more

So disappointed! I've eaten at other Capriotti's around the country and was pleased. This location in Stafford, VA was not pleasing at all. I realize the location just opened...believe me I was eagerly awaiting it! But, I assumed (oops) since it is a chain/franchise/whatever, the quality and standards would be those of the original owners. But alas, not so. This was my order (which cost me $77 by the way): 18" Classic Cheesesteak With Mushrooms (no onions)...it came with a bunch of onions (even though the paper wrapping it came in actually said no onions ), only a few mushrooms, skimpy steak and cheese; 18" Grilled Italian...skimpy deli meats; 10" Grilled Italian With Extra Mayo and Extra Provolone...skimpy deli meats AND no extra Mayo or Provolone (allegedly they were put on the 18" Grilled Italian according to it's paper wrapping but the extras were not found); 18" Italian Sausage (which appears to be missing from their menu this morning)...was ok. I called the store to discuss my order but got voicemail. I left a message with my contact info but haven't heard back so...I decided to post. Hopefully this location can improve because this WAS a great sandwich/sub place. read more
