Authentic fresh Greek food. Owners from Crete. We had a large party (12) yesterday afternoon…read more Service was flawless. Food was spectacular. We started the meal with large cold platters of hummus, dips, olives, grilled peppers and pita. Our hot appetizers included grilled octopus, grilled calamari, fried calamari, and grilled shrimp. All outstanding. Everyone got their favorite Greek meals and the variety was incredible. All the food was served hot and fresh at the very same time. (Not an easy task, but they made it happen.) After everyone was done, a couple people "in the know" got their delicious Greek coffee. What a fun and delicious place to celebrate!

We arrived around 5:45pm to a fairly empty restaurant, which often gives me pause; but as the night went on, it quickly filled up. We were seated and tended to promptly. The interior is cool and inviting, with Greek artwork and upbeat music to enhance the ambiance. Our server was attentive and blunt in a fun, friendly way -- make sure you bring your sense of humor so you don't take anything personally! I had a bowl of the Chicken Avgolemono soup, though the smaller cup would've been more than enough. It was nice and hot. My husband and daughter both got Souvlaki platters but didn't want their Dolmades so I happily ate those. I also shared their fries and part of my daughter's Pork Souvlaki. The Dolmades were some of the best I've ever had and the fries were amazing. But the pork. Listen, I rarely choose pork as my protein and I was very unenthusiastic about it, but it was possibly the best pork I have eaten in my life. It was super tender and juicy and absolutely full of flavor. Together with the fresh pita, tzatziki, and cucumbers... I didn't have words. My husband enjoyed his Lamb Souvlaki, but he tried a bite of the pork and shared my sentiments. We shared a piece of Baklava for dessert, which was also delicious. It was a wonderfully satisfying meal! Restrooms were bright and clean, albeit you have to walk through their office-like area to get to them and kind of feel like you're intruding. If you are in the area and like Greek food or want to try something different, I highly recommend giving this spot a try. I would welcome the opportunity to go back!

I was waiting by the porch area, but my friend entered through the front entrance, which I didn't even realize where it was! The porch area looked really nice for hanging out, and lots of space inside as well. There were musicians performing while we were there, adding to the ambiance. My friend and I didn't order any food, just some beer, which is all brewed in-house. I chose the Delco Lager, which was really good. I like the spot and would go back for another local brew!

Overall, The Jockey is solidly average when it comes to food, service, and ambiance. Nothing outstanding, but nothing terrible either. Where The Jockey truly shines, though, is its Happy Hour value, which is easily the best in the area. Drinks are a great deal compared to nearby spots: half off all beers on tap, plus discounted house wine and cocktails. The Happy Hour appetizer selection is larger than most, and the quality is surprisingly good. Buck-a-shuck oysters! Only one variety, but for a dollar, you can't complain. Bonus points for offering Happy Hour on weekends, which is rare. If you're in the area during Happy Hour, it's absolutely worth stopping in.
