personally, despite being vegetarian I am a big hoagie girl. and dare I say there is a right and wrong way to make a hoagie. have no fear: jersey mikes does it the right way. for a vegetarian, some hoagie establishments think to compensate the lack of meat with cheese. my biggest pet peeve . but jersey mikes knows what to do. I order a cheese hoagie with lettuce onions pickles salt pepper oregano oil and vinegar (chips on the side). with the jersey mikes hoagie everything is balanced. I will not find a inch thick layer of cheese with just a few lettuce shreds. it's even, consistent, fresh. what more can you ask for. I haven't been in store, but generally jersey mikes has a few tables and it's quite quick with an assembly line style thing going on. they also have vickie's chips which is a win in my book. read more

I'm a big fan of Jersey Mike's Subs and wish I had known about them long ago. However, after a show at the People's Light and Theatre In Malvern, I came across this Jersey Mike's on the ride home. I walked in and was greeted by the sight of a large restaurant filled with tables, beach pictures on the walls and two TVs. I decided to get the Jersey Mike's Combo meal, which came with a sandwich, chips and a fountain drink. I ended up getting the Famous Roast Beef and Provolone on the Parmesan bread. The sandwich was made perfectly. The roast beef was juicy, but thinly cut while the provolone cheese had a nice, mild taste and was very fresh. I also got some tomatoes and oregano on top, which brought the whole sandwich together. I also loved the flavorful of the hearty Parmesan bread. They also had a great array of lays chips, which came the with the combo meal. I ended up getting the baked Lay's barbecue chips. Also, the staff here was very nice and friendly. I especially liked how they gave me time to order, cut the roast beef perfectly and recommended the combo meal to me. They also were great in putting together the perfect ratio of toppings. The prices here were not too bad either. Unfortunately, they forgot to give me a cup for my fountain drink, which was part of my combo meal. We are always on the lookout for a quality sandwich place near our home. This would have been really convenient, and we'd have been overjoyed to like this place. Unfortunately, we were really disappointed. We got regular size hoagies that look nothing like the photo they show on their website. They said one sandwich would "feed 2 people" for almost $10 with tax. What 2 people do you know who will eat 3.5" of sandwich for a meal and be satisfied? Not two grown-adult non-anorexic Philadelphians. Was this a mistake by a new employee or something? This place is new, and I try to pad reviews for newer places even when I don't dig them, but in this case, I could not finish eating my meal, so I can't ignore that. Just under $19 for two 7" hoagies that were Wawa quality, from roll, to meats, to mayo. In fairness, I am not a chain hoagie person. If you like places like Primo's, Subway or Wawa, then by all means, help yourself to Jersey Mike's. But if you are more of a mom-n-pop authentic Philly sandwich type of person, who has come to know the quality meats, toppings and rolls that our area has to offer, then I don't think the quality at this place will stand up to what you're used to. We had a turkey hoagie and an Italian, both were very low-quality meats. Also, the veggies were tasteless and the roll was terrible. It was definitely the kind of roll you'd get at Subway, not at all something that tasted fresh from a Philly bakery. My turkey was the same rubbery-looking stuff they give you at Wawa. I could not finish. Wasted half the sandwich, which was only 7 measly inches to begin with. The Italian was no better. Not much flavor, all lower-quality ingredients. Thinly-packed, with not much in it at all. Again, very disappointing. They put a lot of hype into their marketing and advertising, and have fancy logo-printed wax paper and bags. The bag and wax paper presentation was like Burger King. Please, save the money on the logos and put it into better quality ingredients. To us, you just branded something we will never eat again, and couldn't finish. Wasted money. Had to go out again to get takeout elsewhere just to finish dinner. About a month ago, I saw that Jersey Mike's was finally coming to a location near me. I was excited and told everyone. We decided to stop in on their second day open. We arrived around 11:45 and it had people, but we were able to go to the front of the line. By the time we sat down to eat, the line was at least ten people deep. There are a lot of staff, so the line definitely moves. I ordered the #10 tuna on a seeded roll, with provolone. I tried it Mike's way for the first time, well minus the tomatoes... Mike's way comes with onions, lettuce, tomatoes, vinegar, oil and spices. The vinegar had me nervous, but Mike should know best, shouldn't he? This sandwich was great. The vinegar gave it a nice bite and I loved the softness of the roll. This tasted like the Jersey Mike sandwiches I ate in New Jersey. The staff were all friendly and someone came by twice to ask us how everything was. After that though, I realized that I didn't get any cheese on my sandwich. I really didn't miss it and I only noticed that I didn't have it after I saw my co-worker's sandwich with those thick cheese slices on his... Oh well, I'll just toss that up to still working out some kinks. I'll be back and my co-workers agree that Jersey Mike's is our new go-to "hoagie" place. read more

From the finger prints on the front door glass, the multiple tables that had not been wiped down and the paper on the men's room floor. I had a Great experience. The manager (I believe his name is Maleek) was very accommodating. I ordered 4 Mike's subs and had them put into a box. They were delicious. Service with a smile, that's what I'm talking about. Because I ordered in the restaurant the spent some time in the clean lobby. One thing that struck me as odd was the "mikes subs" radio station. The songs all seemed to have an island beat but when I listened to the words I one of the songs I realized that the songs were all about Jesus being the Lord etc. Like Christian rock... so some reason it felt like a strange choice. I'm fine with all kinds of music from all kinds of cultures truly... but this one song struck me as a strange choice, I felt like I was being tricked into a reggae vibe with subliminal message. So far we like everything we've tested, sometimes the menu seems like it's overwhelming because of all of the ingredients but you can always add ingredients if you choose. I visited this new Jersey Mike's location on its opening day on Wednesday, 4/5/17, and I have many thoughts about my experience there. Some good, some bad, but overall I have to express myself on this dining establishment. My two co-workers and I visited this location for lunch and it was extremely crowded, which is understandable, given it was a huge opening day event. The line was moving very fast and it looked very clean inside. Granted, there wasn't much time for it to be dirty yet, but the floors were clean enough to where you could have eaten off them. Please note that I didn't actually order any food because I usually abstain from lunch on Monday-Thursday each week to give my body a good caloric restriction for the majority of the week to balance out weekend dining. I also value the fat burning that goes on during the day instead of having my body waste its energy on handling the digestion of lunch instead. The fact that Jersey Mike's opened on a Wednesday and not a Friday (when I actually do get lunch out), was not a good first impression. They should have been more considerate to people in my situation. Anyways, I stood in line with my co-workers as well, and was repeatedly asked by the staff what I was ordering, and it made it very awkward to where I needed to wait in the non-ordering area of the restaurant. I just wanted to socialize with them in line, but I felt too much outside pressure by the Jersey Mike's staff to be comfortable there. My co-worker did order a Chipotle Chicken Cheesesteak and complained to me that it wasn't spicy enough, so he had to have jalapeno peppers added to it. He also didn't like the presentation of the food being wrapped in tin foil. I stood up for Jersey Mike's and told him that the tin foil was there to keep the sandwich warm, and that the sandwich wasn't that spicy because the aggregate opinion generally is more predicated to less spice. He argued back to me that anyone who orders "chipotle" is expecting spiciness. However, I think in most American commercialized Latin-American flavors, that usually won't be inherently provided. Hearing the pain in his voice over his experience is not a good sign for me. He went on about it for the rest of the day and really looked perturbed. But I did consume Jersey Mike's quite a lot at other locations and I've been happy. My overall verdict, is that besides the lack of consideration to those who only eat lunch on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, and the emotional damage to my co-worker, this Jersey Mike's seems like a good eatery to visit. read more

I'm not a fan of chain hoagie places, not even a real hoagie fan, but when we're working this spot is right off the Blue Route on our way home and sadly so many stand-alone delis have closed. Initially we liked it better than recently, liked the fresh bread, fresh-cut deli meat instead of pre-cut meat languishing in the bay-Marie forever, appreciated not getting nickel-and-dimed for peppers and pickles. The last two visits there we saw a definite decline in quality. The meat is sliced so thin you can see through it. No consistency in the size....if you get a "regular" they slice a roll in half, maybe you get the larger half, maybe not. Or, maybe you get the leftover piece of roll on the prep counter that looks a lot like the "small" size. We have a loyalty number so it can ease the sting of the over-priced sandwich if we get a coupon. We ordered a "giant" number 13 last weekend and it was anything but giant and it was tasteless. We brought some of my daughters friends here for dinner to celebrate her birthday. We chose it specifically because they offer gluten free rolls. We all thoroughly enjoyed our sandwiches. Not what you would refer to as a typically Philly cheesesteak but still tasty. The gluten free sandwich took some extra time to come out but they explained that it was because they had to take the time to clean the grill. The staff is improperly handling raw chicken. Just today, I saw a staff member handle raw chicken then, without changing gloves, he handled the condiments, bread, and touched various surfaces. This is a risk for all customers, not just those eating chicken sandwiches. Foodborne illnesses are not a joke - this location needs to take food safety more seriously. At least instruct the staff to change their gloves after handling the raw chicken - gloves are cheap and provide a level of protection (and comfort) for consumers. read more
