With an interest in ordering from somewhere I had not ordered from before in Chicago, I ended up ordering from Capriotti's Sandwich Shop online via Uber Eats delivery. At the time, Capriotti's showed up as one of the featured restaurants with offers available. And its 4.8 rating out of (1,000+) was the assurance I needed that I would have quality experience. On the menu, I instantly took an interest in the plant-based turkey sandwich, which was what I ended up ordering. Whether it be Grubhub or now Uber Eats, I love ordering online because it is convenient. Much praise to the Uber Eats delivery driver, Sammy, for arriving with my order in a reasonable time, as well as meeting me in front of my residence. And Sammy also confirmed that it was me grabbing the order, which I cannot thank him so much for. Wrapped so neatly! The plant-based turkey sandwich appeared so presentable once I un-wrapped it. It was freshly topped with sliced plant-based turkey, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and mayo. I do not eat plant-based turkey often, but the plant-based turkey on this sandwich was by far the best I have ever tasted. And the toppings complimented the taste so well, specifically the pepper it was seasoned with. I highly recommend it if you enjoy plant-based options or are interested in trying anything plant-based. At this point, I'm addicted to Capriotti's Sandwich Shop! I was first introduced to Capriotti's when my job catered them for lunch. I was hooked from the very first bite. You can tell that Capriotti's uses fresh ingredients on their sandwiches. By now I've tried a variety of their sandwiches but my favorite is the Classic Cheesesteak. The cheese blended with the beef and mushrooms were a chefs kiss. I was able to easily get two meals from my order. The smallest sandwich is 8inch so it's priced nicely. If you want something simple, I would recommend the Classic Italian. This is my backup choice when I want to keep things simple. I recently tried the Classic Club and I was disappointed. The pulled turkey was extremely dry. I ended up taking the turkey off the sandwich because it was like eating a Popeyes biscuit with no water. I wouldn't recommend the Classic Club unless you plan to add oil and other condiments to add a little moisture to the sandwich. I didn't expect much from this sandwich shop but I was very impressed! I really enjoyed the food. I got the classic cheese steak which was DELICIOUS. I loved how juicy and cheesy it was. The bread was also soft and I added hot peppers to it. I also got to try the American Wagyu French Dip. It was good but I preferred the classic cheese steak. The size chart in the store was a little off-putting so pay attention to the measurements of the sub! I got the small which is an 8-inch sub, but I would've been fine with the rookie! The ingredient quality is the highlight. They have pretty decadent options, but as a lighter eater I can still find something. I ate in store once and the counter operator really seemed to care about the product and service. I strongly advise for everyone to stay away from this location. They are using 8 inch subs and trying to pass for medium 10 inch. I've ordered here frequently and I noticed my sandwiches were smaller and this changed this over the past 6 months. This was the 3rd time I've called them on it. I showed pictures of 2 Medium subs and trying to tell me they are the same size. I recommend to go to Hammond location as they do not try and pull this crap. they have lost all my future business and will NEVER return. I suggest others stay away. read more

My boyfriend and I were talking about how there's not a lot of sandwich places that offers a good cheese steak so we're glad we stumbled upon this Sandwich shop. The Classic Cheese Steak hit the spot with the steak, mushrooms, onions, hot peppers, and provolone cheese. They have other cheese steak offerings but wanted to stick with the classic as a first timer. We ordered a medium size and were plentiful for two people. The ingredients were plentiful and the sandwich tasted delicious and fresh. I also want to mention how good their flat fries and come in different varieties. They have a variety of other sandwiches to try and I'm curios to try the American Wagyu selection for my next visit. They also have vegetarian offerings and have about four selection available. Placed an order through their app and a third party picked up to deliver, uber. Waited for over an hour and a half, nothing. Called the store and they said the uber driver must have stolen my food and there was nothing they could do about it. Manager is on vacation, too. I tried Capriotti's Sandwich Shop at Riverpoint Center. I had their "Classic Cheesesteak Sandwich" 10-inch combo with chips and a drink. The sandwich had top-notch ingredients on a warm roll, it was piping hot. The sandwich is big enough to share or take home to eat later. The inside is very clean and neat, the counter person was friendly and fast. What I didn't care for was the "Live Concert Music" playing in the background, it wasn't the volume, it just didn't seem like the right fit for a sandwich shop. read more

EAST COAST EATS This east coast sandwich shop opens their newest location at the Riverpoint Center in Lincoln Park. Chicago is known for its Italian sub shops and this location brings a nice and fresh twist to our sandwiches in the city. They are most famous for the Bobbie which is basically Thanksgiving Day dinner on a roll. It's great to be able to celebrate this delicious holiday any day of the week. They even roast turkeys on site daily. On our visit today we decided to order some different sandwiches. I wanted to try their new American Wagyu Roast Beef. It's made with Ultra-premium American Wagyu beef slow-roasted, piled high then topped with provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions and mayo. I also added on hot peppers. It was quite magical. The beef was so tender and it melted in my mouth. I was very happy with my selection. I would definitely order this again. My wife went with our favorite sandwich. The good ole' Capastrami. This is one of their classic sandwiches. It is filled with hot pastrami, melty swiss cheese, crunchy coleslaw and Russian dressing. My wife also added hot peppers. I was worried it would not work but it was a great edition to this classic. This is literally my favorite sandwich here. I was glad my wife couldn't finish her sandwich and I was able to get a few bites. It's really a fantastic sandwich. Our daughter ordered the Grilled Italian. It is a A sizzling take on their Classic Italian. The premium Italian deli meats are grilled right on the flattop along with provolone cheese, fried onions, oil and then topped with lettuce and tomato. It's awesome. We should call it the Italian Philly. It's truly a great change from the cold italian subs we find at every Chicago sandwich shop. Our daughter also added hot peppers. Ordered a classic Philly cheesesteak. Every cheesesteak I've had before has been sliced extremely thin and chopped up, not extra thick slices of meat the size of gyro pieces that are tough to chew. I will say everything but the meat tasted good, for whatever that's worth. May give their cold sandwiches a try if I were to go back. read more

Had the Turkey which comes on white bread with provolone, warm Turkey breast, tomato, lettuce, onions, Mayo, and seasoning. Comes in multiple sizes ( the large size looks enormous) . I shared a small sandwich with my daughter and it was adequate sized for us to share ( cost a little under 11$) . I stopped by during my shopping, it was conveniently located in the shopping plaza area, with plenty of parking. It's a brand new place so it was decorated well and very clean. As you get in the ordering line they have fancy signs with reviews from magazines and online sites saying they make the best sandwiches so perhaps that made my think it would be very good. I got the classic Italian and I thought it was terrible. The bread is terrible. The meats were fine but couldn't make up for the wonder bread style flavorless roll. Also why they serve it open face makes no sense, I had to use my hands to stuff the food into the roll to eat it like a sub. read more

Customer service was great. I did not care for the capastrami 10". The coleslaw was to sweet on sandwich and Russian dressing the same. Bread was soft and gooey. My wagyu sandwich looked nothing like the picture. The wagyu beef came in what looked more like cubes of spam. If there was russian dressing (or any flavor on that matter) I missed it. There was no flavor to this sandwich, it needs acid. I took it home and added some Carolina style vinegar bbq sauce and it was edible. I'd rate it lower, but the staff were friendly and the store is clean and it is nice to have something to eat in this shopping complex. tastes solid, the wagyu is weird sometimes. EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE, I'm always shocked at how much it costs when I get it delivered. It's pretty much only worth it if you carry out and don't have to pay the delivery costs. For example, I ordered three 5" subs and the total was close to $40. Remember the $5 footlong from Subway?? This is 3" longer but $35 more. Kinda absurd. Any 5" sub will cost more than $10 with delivery. I wish it was remotely plausible to order. The 8" subs are close to $20 each with delivery. read more

Vegetarians, don't sleep on this place! It's the only chain sub shop that I know of that offers plant-based meat. You don't have to eat just vegetables on a bun like at the other places (especially since some Subways are phasing out the veggie patty).
