One of my favorite sandwich shops in DC! I'm a huge fan of capo deli because their sandwich selections are always so delicious. Service was pretty smooth, you actually order on a kiosk and pick up the order when ready. Ambiance, nothing much, it's inside Western Market so you can find seating in the courtyard area or outdoors. I ordered the 6" chicken parmigiana and the 6" chicken fontina, both on a fresh seeded Italian bread and both so divine. The chicken parmigiana was hearty and bursting with fresh flavors, definitely had enough to save for later that day. The chicken fontina was delicious and fun, something about the sweet roasted peppers and basil aioli took this sandwich over the top. Overall, both sandwiches were amazing. read more

Do not waste your time or money at this place. I ordered half a classic cheesesteak and fries. I had to wait more than 30 minutes for one of the most mediocre meals I've had in a while. The fries were lukewarm at best when they were handed to me. The sandwich, which is described as containing mixed peppers, onion and copper sharp cheese, was a scattering of essentially "Steak-umms" meat and cheese. It was so disappointing, and to add that it was $22. Never again. read more

Stopped by for a quick bite and was seriously impressed! The Italian sub was absolutely delicious--perfectly toasted bread, fresh deli meats, and just the right balance of spice and tang. Every bite had that classic, satisfying flavor you hope for in a great sub. I also tried the California steak, and it was incredible. Tender, flavorful, and cooked just right, with toppings that really brought it all together with the lettuce, tomato and onion. Super tasty and definitely something I'd come back for. GW students are blessed to have so many options to eat so close to campus! I ordered the small California cheese steak and was shocked at the size because it was bigger than I thought it would be. This is a definitely a nice sized portion for lunch. The California cheesesteak comes with the lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. The sub wasn't the best cheesesteak I've had, but it did the job. If the steak was seasoned, the sub would be a 5/5. The sesame bread is def a nice added touch. Great customer service and I would go back to try something different. read more

I placed an order via UberEats for a small meatball parmigiana sub. The sub was delivered timely but it's missing marinara sauce. Just a dry meatball and cheese sub. Tried calling Capo and was the lady who answered the phone was initially dismissive. Kept asking if I'd contacted UberEats. I explained my issue wasn't with the delivery but with the food. She spoke to a manager who questioned my claim because the meatballs are supposed to be in a container with marinara sauce. I was also told to contact UE for options. I went to the Capo Deli in Western Market. It was very clean and staff were very nice. I'm from Jersey so I've had my fair share of Italian Subs over the years. This sub was good, but I wouldn't say it's one of the better Italian subs I've had. The bread was very good and so was the meat, but I felt there was something missing even though I added some mayo. When I first bite into an Italian sub I get an immediate taste of the oil and vinegar while also getting those sharp onions into the mix. I didn't get that with this sub. One of the best delis around! I am not a huge sandwich/deli person, but I really enjoyed Capo. I ordered my own small spinach wrap with honey ham, capicola, provolone cheese, sweet roasted peppers, sun dried tomatoes, onions, lettuce, mayo, and honey mustard. I don't know if the combination was just superb or if the deli is just great, but it worked. They weren't shy about putting in a lot of the ingredients--very generous with the amount of meat. I especially loved the sun dried tomatoes and sweet roasted peppers, it's worth the extra charge. I only had half the small wrap and it filled me up. Definitely going back! read more

Worst service ever !!!!!! the grill guy was all cleaning his grill like it was the toughest job ever. I swear the meanest worst customer service in the world!!! He slammed his door to the stove; came over all angry like he was doing me a favor.. stupid boy! Then I asked when do you close he said another 40 minutes !!!! And yet still !!!!!! Worst service . He then rang me out through my tiramisu at me and slammed the drawer closed . Dumb, rude, inconsiderate, and WORST SERVICE EVER !!!!!!!!! Just moved to DC from New Jersey and was excited to try Capo to get my Chicken Parm sub fix close to where I live. $17 with tax was a bit high for a chicken parm sub but I was willing to forego that for good quality. I will start with the good. The bread was very solid, and the sauce and cheese had nice flavor as well. My main gripe was with the chicken cutlet, or lack thereof. Upon picking up the sub I noticed how flat it was, even through the tin foil. When I unwrapped it I saw there was such little chicken that the pieces of bread touched each other in most places. All there was one super thin cutlet that was even tough in some places. Needless to say I was highly disappointed in this sub and it does not hold a candle to the Italian Delis of NJ. Could have used some more mozzarella cheese as well. Would love recommendations as to the best chicken parm subs in DC. read more

Will never return. I've never had a more disgusting chicken cheesesteak in my life. For starters, they use Steak-umm frozen chicken for their cheesesteaks. If you've never had it or don't know what I'm referring to...consider yourself lucky. Then the flavor of the sandwich was off or should I say, nonexistent. It was extremely salty and greasy. I also didn't care for the sesame seed bread that they used, but that's just a matter of preference. Overall, not worth the $17 I paid for the sandwich. I took a couple of bites and tossed the rest.
