I truly appreciate the evening manager VICTOR for patiently looking through my myelong receipt to help me with the refund transaction, it took a lot longer than necessary. He was patient and thorough, and got the return handled for me. Another young lady that was working this evening helped me with my initial purchase. Her name is Alison, and she helped me the first time that I came with a big purchase. And she also helped me check out a few items this evening, they have amazing clearance items that you gotta check out! I want to give her a shout out out because she has great customer service, beautiful smile and I know that a lot of times in the retail industry customers are quick to complain and share their frustrations online to management to anyone and everyone, but I think it's important that we also take the time to leave positive uplifting reviews whenever we get great service anywhere! This is why I choose to come to this Big 5 location when there's several area in our community that I could choose from.

The store was also very organized and clean with lots of deals! It terms on hiking shoe selection they do have a decent amount of selection but most of the shoes are from the brand Denali which is exclusively sold at Big 5. Denali's are great if your looking for a budget option ~$30. They also had some Eddie Bauer & Hi Tec which are a good mid price ($40-$50). They were limited on the higher end options with only two pairs of Columbia ($70-$90). We ended up going with the the Colombia and my wife is thrilled because it's the most comfortable shoe. We both picked up some ecosox hiking socks and they are by far the most comfortable socks we've gotten! Which were recommended by the excellent staff. I'll admit that personally I've not been a big fan of Big 5 in the past because other stores have been cluttered, disorganized and picked over. But this store has changed my opinion! It seems to be excellently managed and I definitely will be looking here first the next time I need any sport equipment!

We'll definitely be on the lookout for you for our future jewelry purchases.

When I asked the employee at the counter if she could cash out the remaining balance on a gift card of approximately $2, the manager very curtly and loudly, bellowed to the employee across the room as she continued tidying up what appeared to be accessories, "No, we can't "; the employee then had to convey to me, "No, we can't." No explanation given, very much a "Yes, your majesty" exchange between employee and supervisor. She then was talking to the employee about me while I was looking through the clothes, saying, "She probably used it online and so we can't give them cash back, but if she bought it in the store they could have", rather than having a conversation with me, the customer, directly. She then reshared this information with me after asking me if I had purchased online and told me that I should have bought it in the store. We didn't find anything and we just left. Her rude demeanor is probably a contributing reason why I didn't purchase in-store the first time. Lesson learned. I will not be visiting any time soon and it is apparent that others have learned the same lesson. The store looked tidy, new and neat though, almost castle-like. An extra star for cleanliness.
