Cute little spot with great service. The pizza was really good and we loved the arugula salad with artichokes and the arancini. They even have a dessert pizza with Nutella that we enjoyed.
Very cute and cozy interior. Food quality and service was great! We particularly loved the homemade sangria. The restaurant is very small, so it's best to make a reservation.

Service 10- Pizza 15!!! You come into their dining room and feel right at home. The pizza is made to order and it is absolutely delicious. Love everything about the pizza. The wine was also very good, straight from Italy.
I came here with my husband and his other friend and his friend's girlfriend. They used to come here all the time when they lived near Port Authority. My husband always wants pizza, like always, so between this place and another restaurant, we chose this one. It was Sunday afternoon so not too crowded. Server was quick. We started with the artichoke. Our friend said they used to have more artichoke on the plate but now it's only 2. This was a bit shocking for them. They also so got arancini - which they also commented that it used to come with 4 balls and now only 3. My husband got the meat lovers pizza and I got a prosciutto pie. Our friends also split a prosciutto pie. The slices are sliced into 4's, so much larger than anticipated. The pizzas are wood fired so the crust is amazing: chewy and crunchy at the same time. It's a cute little pizza spot that I definitely recommend if you're looking for some quality pizza. The menu is limited so no pasta but who doesn't love pizza? Also their bathroom is super cool; it's an old-fashioned toilet with a pull down level to flush. Unfortunately the water pressure is weak so you may have to pull a few times to flush everything but still pretty awesome.
quick story... 11 years ago I came here with my brother & cousin on a whim because I saw this place recommended on Tumblr... I've been back to NYC many times since but had never saved this spot.. and I FINALLY FOUND IT AGAIN. I've been searching as I never forgot about this pizzeria!!! I say all this to say that pizza taste just like it did then. Exceptional italiana style pizza. I had the hot honey to share with my partner (2 slices each) and we ended with an espresso. Had lunch on a Wednesday @2 and it was very lowkey, no wait, great service, and good vibe. I'll be back again!!!
Dinner in New York City... My good Yelp friends were looking out for me. They noticed that I was in New York and suggested that I get some New York pizza! I told my friend and she told her brother. They had been to Capizzi in the past and said that this place is really good because the pizzas are baked in a brick oven and the pizzas are personal sized. Okay! We walked over from the theater and entered the cozy, warm, dimly lit restaurant. Service was very welcoming and helpful! We shared the Artichoke salad with pine nuts... delicious! My friend and her brother got the Loaded pizza while I got the Prosciutto Fungi pizza. I enjoyed the texture of the mushrooms and the fragrant, fresh basil. The Prosciutto added the savory flavor to the thin, crisp crust! We finished off our feast with a large piece of Tiramisu... it was moist and not too sweet! We were so full that we took an entire pizza home - one quarter from me, one quarter from Marlina, and half of David's pizza! It made a wonderful breakfast the next morning!
When in the city, make sure to visit Capizzi! This is easily my favorite pizza spot. No wait times, quality pizza, and excellent service. Highly recommend.
Was looking for a slice, opened up Yelp, gave this spot by the Theater District a chance. Service was great, the food was solid, the ambiance on the casual side, and the restaurant definitely got quite busy. Caesar Salad -- 3 1/2 Stars. Very cheesy and coated in thick dressing, if that's your thing. Margherita Pizza - 4 1/2 stars. Tasty, light, delicious! Pepperoni Pizza - 4 stars. A solid pizza, light thin crust that I really liked.

We loved this place! We came after seeing a show and the pizza was delciousssss. We ordered a Marguerite pizza and then got a side of hot honey and a side of Caesar dressing to dip. Absolutely amazing. The house made sangria was fantastic. Tiramisu was good too. The restaurant is so cute and the service was amazing.
New York has so many great Italian options, so I was very excited to try this restaurant. Upon entering the establishment, I was very pleased with the ambience of the restaurant, which was decorated in a very charming, quaint style that reminded me of Italy. There were vines hanging on the ceiling and lots of vintage memorabilia on the walls which were a fun conversation starter at our table. The restaurant is very small inside. We ordered several pizzas, though I mainly had the eggplant one. It was ok, and the crust was beautifully cooked and charred. However, I'm rating Capizzi 3 stars because my friend ordered a gluten-free pizza because she is legitimately gluten-free. The waitress assured us that this was an option provided at this restaurant. When the pizza came out, my friend was pleasantly surprised because the crust looked too good to be gluten-free. And she almost ate it, but her skepticism made us double-check with the staff again. And unfortunately, the crust was not gluten-free. There was a mixup, which they promptly fixed. I appreciate how the issue was handled, it's just that this could've been a compromising situation for my friend. Overall, the food was okay, though the vibes were very fun. I don't know if I'd go out of my way to revisit this place, but it's a solid choice if you're in the area.

I had been here in the past but with the pandemic, many times that I tried to stop by, they were closed. Now, they are opened for lunch up until 3 p then closed and reopen for dinner at 5p. i got there at around that time and i have had their pizza before and it was delicious. What i really wanted the night I went was the pizza margherita. I ordered this and shortly after I placed my order, my pizza arrived. It was a substantial sized personal pizza and was delicious. It is a cozy little place, across the street from Port Authority on 9th Avenue and a great place to run in with a friend for a quick bite to eat. It is clean, reasonably priced and the staff is accommodating and attentive. I would recommend and return. read more

My favorite pizzeria in the area. Highly underrated, busy most always, but sometimes you'll get lucky and not have to wait. Pizzas are delicious, staff is Incredible, seating is cute, romantic, intimate, and everything else you're looking for. This place is good for small groups (2-4), pre-theatre show meals, or if you're trying to avoid the hustle and bustle of midtown while still being in midtown. read more
Capizzi is a cozy pizzeria in Hell's kitchen. This area near Penn station is usually a dearth of good food. However Capizzi delivered on a satisfying and tasty meal for us. My friends and I went here after a conference. The space is small. Unfortunately locals and tourists also know about Capizzi so the wait was about 40 minutes. The pizzas were so satisfying. The three of us shared the following. Burrata- this arrived with artichoke hearts, cherry tomatoes, sun-dried tomatoes, and prosciutto. The cheese was so creamy and fresh. Uovo Pizza- this came loaded with fresh baked eggs and pancetta. It was so satisfying and had a deep rich flavor, thanks to the cheese, sauteed onions and the pancetta. This was my favorite pie. Mushrooms and prosciutto pie- this was delicious with a good crisp crust. The mushrooms and prosciutto were very good. The special of the day was in the Nutella pizza dessert topped with berries. We shared this as dessert. It was such a satisfactory meal. I would definitely return! read more

UPDATE: To add insult to injury, these clowns have allowed themselves to steal money from me! I just checked my credit card statement, and discovered the restaurant has decided to charge a higher tip amount than what I have given them. I guess they assumed most people don't check their credit card statements ... well I do! I'm therefore updating my rating of this establishment to 1 star. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- If it were just for the food, I'd rate this place 3.5 stars. But the attitude of the staff was ... wow, that waiter must have been the world gaslighting champion. We made a reservation and arrived at the restaurant at 7pm sharp. I told the waiter I have a reservation and ... the guy stared at me in disbelief, doubting my every word. Dunno what was so surprising, people often make reservations at restaurants, right? The waiter acted like he was doing me a special favor, went back to the kitchen to double check, and said ... drumroll ... no reservation for you. He asked me how I made the reservation, I said over the phone. "Over the phone?", the guy asked, still in disbelief. I confirmed. I pulled out my phone to show him the call to the restaurant in the list of recent calls. It gets better from here, trust me. He stared at my phone, and asked "You made a reservation 42 minutes ago?" Yeah, that's what my phone shows, and I trust it to measure the time correctly. And then the million dollar question came: "Really?" I was at a complete loss of words. Well yeah, I had a witness to this call. And the witness was with me. At this point the waiter has succeeded in making me question my sanity (World Gaslighting Champion, remember?) He retreated back to the kitchen again ... and, surprise surprise, they suddenly found my reservation! A brief apology followed ... like a very brief one. The waiter asked us to wait outside (yes, in the cold February evening in New York), and promised to come outside and get us in within 5 minutes. Five minutes passed ... Ten ... Fifteen ... After seventeen minutes a royal gesture comes, from the cozy warmth of the restaurant, waving us in. Like, thou shalt enter now. The food was edible, not on par with the reviews, but ok. But thinking that we got the food with free entertainment included, maybe it wasn't a bad deal after all read more

Finally got to try the much raved about pizza here. Every time I went it was packed out the door. This time, the trick was to go at an off hour. I think my favorite things about the pie are the crust and the ripe san marzano sauce. For pizza purists, the plain pie might be the go to choice. And use the bathroom if possible. They got a old fashioned chain toilet. Lol read more

Margherita pizza was 10/10. The "Loaded Pizza" was a little flimsy causing the toppings to drop and create a minor mess. Overall food was fantastic, very filling as well. Service was very kind. Would've liked to see a more dressy uniform. A classic waiter uniform would have put the cherry on top in reference to the atmosphere. Aside from that, the atmosphere was wonderful, extremely cozy and homey! Would give a 4.5 because of the Loaded Pizza, but overall it is a five because of the Margherita pizza. read more

Capizzi is a quaint little restaurant near the theater district. I stopped for lunch with family before a show and really enjoyed it. The restaurant is small and quaint and the service was really goo. The second you walk in you are engulfed by the smell of fresh pizza. The restaurant serves alcohol so we had some wine with our pizza. Our group of 5 split three pizzas and the burrata salad. Overall I recommend Capizzi if you're in NYC. read more

We ordered the loaded pizza and it did not disappoint ... delicious. The service was great, the wait staff were very attentive. The ambiance was typical family owned restaurant in New York City - loved it (and my husband loved the old refrigerator). Highly recommend checking them out. read more

DEFINITION OF A HIDDEN GEM: PIZZA + ATMOSPHERE TO DIE FOR My parents were visiting and Capizzi's came up as an option close to their hotel. Intrigued by the ratings and reviews, I called to make a reservation for 3 at 12:30 (same day). From the outside, it doesn't seem like much, but once you enter, the inviting atmosphere immediately engulfs you. A vintage Coke refrigerator and a vintage TV accommodate a view of the brick pizza oven, and delicate Italian music plays in the background. I'm already dreaming of coming back here during Christmas time for the cozy vibe. And onto the food...We ordered the fried artichokes and arugula salad as appetizers, and they were delicious. You can taste the freshness of the ingredients, and it makes the BIGGEST difference. We then had, hands down, the best pizzas I've had thus far in my life. To die for. We got the Caprese and the Loaded pizzas to share among 3 (hungry) adults and devoured every last bite. Again, the freshness was insane, and each bite was bursting with flavor. I can't recommend this restaurant enough and already can't wait to come back!!! read more

Gotta give this intimate place top marks! It's got the "classic old school joint vibe" with delicious yet contemporary single serving 12' pies using fresh too shelf ingredients,. Lots of custom toppings choices, great crust and fabulous quintessential neighborhood NY pizza joint ambiance. Inexpensive yet tasty wines, delicious cannoli's and fast friendly service rounded out a great meal! read more

I used to frequent this small pizza restaurant when I lived in Hell's Kitchen. It never disappointed and still doesn't. Their wood-burning brick oven serves up some crispy and tasty pizzas.The host was friendly and grateful for our business, but a drop scatter-brained as he was also the only one serving. Still, it was good to be back and I highly recommend it for an affordable and authentic Neapolitan pizza if you're in the neighborhood. read more

Meh had way better pizza and I'm not talking Italy and way way better service and I'm not talking NYC. I had to ask for salt shaker, which we didn't have at our table. Perhaps they assumed they thought their pizza didn't need flavor? The pizza was so bland ..... I can count the number of times I've used a salt shaker on one hand....in ANY restaurant let alone an Italian one. Truly had better pizza at a pizza by the slice place and there are a ton of them in the city. This is only my opinion and reflects my experience at this restaurant but I wouldn't come back. Oh and did I mention EVEN though they have the credit card acceptance emblem on the front door they neglect to tell you they add a 4% surcharge on credit card sales. Saying if you pay cash they don't charge the 4%. They are probably breaking their card acceptance agreement with the credit card companies. They deserve a two star but I'm giving them one star because of their payment policy surcharge. read more

Came here for a late lunch around 2:45 on a Sunday afternoon. Our party of three was seated right away as there was only one other table occupied. The music was good! We ordered sangria, one plain Margherita pizza and one Margherita with pepperoni. The sangria was delicious, and so was the pizza! They're 12" personal pizzas cut into slices of four. Granted the slices are pretty big so they would probably be better off cut into eight. The crust was thin and the sauce was so tasty. We easily finished both pizzas despite having had lunch a couple hours earlier. I would say it was a bit pricy for what it was, and I wasn't a huge fan of the decor (although there were a couple of funny signs). Overall though, if I was in the area, I would think about coming back for lunch. read more

Pizza was falling a part when trying to grab a slice. Pepperoni slices too thick. The taste just wasn't there for the price. Service was good. Ambiance was good. Music needed to be different to fit the environment. Less top 40 more Italian music vibe. I will not be returning here. It's just ok. read more
This is by far my best Pizza experience in nyc. Moment you open the door the aroma of the freshly baked brick oven pizza hits you with a pop. Inside you have to take a moment and soak up the history and decor that was handed down by family. If this isn't enough for you....... introduce yourself to Andres. Who made a little girls day by giving her a one on one pizza making experience. It made her pizza experience memorable. So thank you. Wait....I didn't mention that it was probably the most satisfying personal pie I have had in a real long time. Italian sausage and egg. Going toe to toe with the best the city has to offer. I plan to make a return trip very soon. read more

Hands down this is the best pizza place in the area. We have been going here for years now and to see it reopened and spruced up made us so happy. The Buffalo mozzarella makes for an extra creamy soft cheese on their fantastic pizzas. Thanks again to Capizzi for an outstanding experience. read more
A real nice treat in a town known for its NY Pizza. We had a larger group and they were able to get us in quickly. We placed an order for a number of pies to share. Each as tasty as the other. The combinations of toppings were inventive and delicious. The crust was top notch! I love a good VPN style pie. The staff were attentive and very friendly. The cannoli was also very tasty! read more
