Honestly, I'm not sure how Turn 2 Racing doesn't have over 1,000 reviews with all 5 stars. My…read moreboyfriend and I stopped by on a sunday morning so he could try the racing simulators and we were immediately greeted and helped! The store is run by a dad and his son, and it came to fruition as their hobby. Both the father and the son are super passionate about racing and simulation racing, and it clearly shows in the heartwarming enthusiasm and dedication they show to making sure you have an enjoyable experience. The price is great too! $20 for 20 mins on the formula 1 racing car and the 60"screen car. The price drops to $15 for 20 mins for the two smaller sim cars! We were in line behind a group of racers from Sonoma, and the father happily explained that the racers were frequent customers, and that they actually race on the racetrack they were simulation racing on in real life. Once it was my boyfriends turn, they strapped him in and explained that the simulation racing had full motion and impact. Halfway through my boyfriend's turn, the father/son duo noticed that the motor wasn't adjusting properly and paused the game so that they could fix it. They even ended up letting my boyfriend finish a few extra laps! They could have easily not told us, and we wouldn't have noticed, but it really illustrates how kind and honest they are, and that this really is their passion! My boyfriend enjoyed it so much, and cannot stop talking about it. We will definitely be back, and he's hoping to place in the top20 for the timeattack next time!

My husband loves racing, formula 1, and karting so this was an amazing experience for him!…read more There are 4 professional racing simulators, 1 with full motion and another with formula 1 motion. My husband tried both of the motion simulators and enjoyed the full motion the most. The staff was very friendly and helpful! They adjusted his settings so that he would have the best racing experience. He even had the chance to race other racers there in real time, and I was able to watch the race from an exterior cam view. We also thought the price was great at $20/20 min! Check out their instagram and website for more info and videos. We will definitely be there often.

You can even purchase beer at the run. The race was held at 8:00 pm, but didn't really start until 8:30ish since they were waiting for the sun to go down. Afterwards, they had people cross the start line in waves to prevent overcrowding on the course. I think I was in the last wave and we didn't start until 9:00. The course consisted of lights and techno music but parts of the course were dark and quiet. It felt like we went off course towards the end because it wasn't well marked, but we were able to figure it out. There was also an after-party in a building. Even though it was cool seeing people dressed up, I wouldn't do this run again. It was the priciest run I've done so far.

The Electric Run was basically a 5k rave held at Cal Expo. With all the flashing lights,…read moreglow-in-the-dark everything, neon and black light, techno and house music blaring, you couldn't help but get caught up in the dizzying atmosphere. It was a lot of fun. First start time was at 8pm. But since there were 10,000 participants, my team's start was around 8:45pm. While we were waiting for our official countdown, the m.c.'s were throwing down some free stuff into the brightly colored crowd. I caught an LED ring. Totally awesome! Then we were off...into the darkness! What happenned to all the lighted arches and pillars? Where were the speakers blasting the music? I was expecting more of the route to be lit up in some way. And it was, but only at a few certain points along the way. Nothing as grand as I had hoped for. For a $50 reg fee, I guess I did expect more lights and music along the way. But it was cool enough, and just to look back at everyone behind me in their glow-in-the-dark attire was such a fantasmic sight. I really recommend this run to anyone who likes to have fun, and doesn't consider this a real "run". It's all about creativity, costumes, and bright lights. The route had us going through the parking lot, over bridges, through tunnels, and into buildings. There were plenty of background set ups for photo ops. One weird thing was that I didn't see any "official" finish line. Did I miss it? We just kinda ended up in an open space, in front of the building where the after-party was being held. It was a bit anti-climactic for a finish line. We didn't dare set foot into the sweaty mess of the after-party, although, if you're into that sort of stuff, it did look pretty wild. Can't wait for next year's run. GIves me plenty of time to start working on that glow-in-the-dark body suit!

The owner is a friend, but keep reading to find out why. The owner of Karting Concepts is very passionate about kart racing and his local club tracks in Davis ( BlueMax Kart Club ) and Folsom ( Prairie City SVRA - All Star Karting ). I've known him since 2013 in which he started a business relationship with the company that I work for. I'm used to getting sales pitches and other non-creative marketing tossed my direction from the racing circles, but Patrick was different. He urged me to come back out to the local track, Blue Max Kart Club and to try club racing again, with a Briggs and Stratton 206 powered kart. At first I had no interest because, "I'm a shifter guy!!!". I've been around karting since 1995, and my smiles come from driving a shifter kart, so a lawn mower engine package had no appeal to me. Patrick kept working on me to come out and give it a try. After about a year, I finally headed out to BlueMax for a club race and the class I entered had about 30 kart on the track. This shifter guy had a huge smile on his face, not because the karts are super fast like a shifter, but because the racing was intense and close. After I got out, I became an ambassador for the Briggs LO206 platform because it was a great start up package for all kart racers. I enjoyed a large field, close racing, and once I bought my own equipment, relatively affordable (by motorsports standards) cost to hit the track. Now over the years, Patrick and I have become friends. He has a real passion for the sport of karting, as do I. He is honest with people and he puts others first. If the world had more people with his temperament and personality, it would be a much better place. He has participated at all levels in the karting business. He had offered rental programs do introduce new people to the sport. He runs a side business to retail karts and parts. He has traveled to big national karting events to support customers. He has spent countless hours building the local kart club and growing membership numbers. Do I need to go on?

I visited with friends and we had a great time!…read more We checked in on the digital kiosks and then selected balaclava colors before waiting for our turn. At first I was confused why the wait time was so long when the space seemed almost empty, but we learned quickly that the more runs you do the better deal you get, and racing can be pricey. We opted for two rounds since we were new to it and didn't know how long it would take if we did more. Our first race took some time to be called for (about an hour), but we had much less downtime before our second one. While you wait there is an arcade area and a bar. One thing we noticed is that the staff in areas other than the racetrack are much less engaging- I think they must be bored from the lack of people interacting with them or working on things in other places. The bar was frequently unmanned and we learned that they don't offer tap water, only bottled. We also learned that while some packages come with food, if you don't time it correctly you may have to leave the food at the tables to head down to your race. It might be best to wait until after racing to order any food. While we didn't get food during the visit, we found it odd that a bunch of sliders and other food were just sitting around in the bar area unattended, getting cold. There's gotta be a better system. The team on the racetrack was engaged and nice. They made sure everyone was set up, strapped in, and that the races were organized and safe. I was TERRIBLE, but did get better my second round. Our group ended up having a lot of fun. Some things to note- they do put groups together and fill the extra spots with other racers so your group will be together but you may have different people in each heat (depending on how many rounds they bought and when they arrived). Riding with other groups means you may get bumped into and have people of VERY different skill levels. We definitely had some regulars in our group. When someone spins out or needs help all the karts stop so it can really interrupt the race, but I guess that's part of the experience. Overall it's a lot of fun but there's some room for improvement in their non-racing areas.
