I love this place and so do my kids. I do wish that they had more shaded seating for families because this place gets packed and there is no where to sit. Maybe suggesting benches along the sides or in the lawn. The kids activity pool is always getting shut down and it sucks because these babies are making #2 accidents OFTEN. This isn't the facilities fault, but really parents should allow kids time in between to go potty to prevent the constant closure of the activity pool (if they can). read more

My daughter took some summer swim lessons here last year and we had a bad experience. I thought she was safe being that there are so many lifeguards on duty but I was wrong. I never take my eyes off my kids in the water no matter who is teaching them and I'm thankful! My daughter was practicing her little kicks while holding on to the wall but at one point she let go and was too far from the wall to get back to it. I waited to see that her teacher would notice but they didn't. The lifeguard was right in front of her and they didn't notice that she was going under and couldn't come back up. She was a beginner, unable to reach the bottom and the class was a group class for reference. I stood up and ran to my daughter to help her get back to the wall and the life guard shouted, "No running." I looked at him and said, "Then do your job!" I was livid. Nobody apologized for their negligence. Some lifeguards seem to just be there, not to keep the kids safe. I wouldn't recommend the classes at all. I didn't want this experience to hinder her desire to learn so I talked it over and she decided to face her fear after knowing I would ALWAYS be watching and keeping her safe. We finished the week and then went to an actual swim school for lessons and she's thriving. The fun part of this complex is definitely the kids water playground and the slides. I'd recommend this over the swim classes any day. read more

North Natomas Aquatics is a beautiful complex with lots of amenities for all, even if you're just coming on your own to enjoy the sun, tan and take a quick swim or take the kids -- it's perfect! It offers two large pools, two slides, kids play area, cabanas, good seating and lifeguards on duty. The price to get in for adults was $9 and kids is $7, which is pretty reasonable considering it's not just a basic pool facility. It's very new, modern, and has clean restrooms. The pool was clean, good temperature water and not crowded during the time I went (one our closer to closing). I recommend!! read more

This review is solely as a spectator at a regional swimming event and didn't go swimming here at all. North Natomas Aquatics Complex was the host to SWAGR, a regional swimming event. The parking situation was a bit tight considering the parking is also shared with the park nearby. So I feel bad for folks who were going to spend a day at the park. The overflow parking was across the street at the school when it was the weekend. They had a few options for restrooms which is nice to have. They also had showers to wash off outside. There were two pools, one smaller and the larger one for the meet. Without the tents, it's fairly spacious and lots of areas to walk around inside. The spectator area is covered, but depending on the wind chill factor, it gets awfully cold even when the sun was out. But it is nice that the bleachers were covered. Just make sure to bring blankets when the wind is cold or layer up. Overall I would imagine this is a great spot to do some swimming during those hot Natomas days. read more

Went here twice and second time was right in the beginning of school started and the toddler area was closed which is awful , I feel like that area should be open more because toddlers are not going to school and they are the main reasons parents go to such a places . Oh I thought I'd written a review of this place already but I guess not. It's really nice! What can I say? My kids got a free swim ticket here each from summer reading program at the library and each tix admits an adult and a child so all of us got to go and we went the very last Sunday that they were opened last season and it was in October(!) as it was still so hot, it was seriously unusual, but allowed procrastinators like us not to waste the opportunity. We already belong to a gym, but the kids had so much fun here bc it's a really nice and relatively new aquatic center with 2 large areas, one more for "big" kids with several tall slides (1 was not working that day) that were really fun to come down even as an adult. And then another area for the younger ones had tons of "waterfalls" or maybe they should be called water dumps bc basically buckets hanging in mid air would fill up automatically over time and then when they get too heavy they would fall over and dump all the water onto whoever was standing or walking under that spot. It was really fun to play in this area too even as an adult. I was pretty tired that day and standing under the water elements was super relaxing and some of them felt like jets coming down on my shoulders so they were massaging my tired and tight shoulders, and I was so relaxed that I basically stood or sat and took a snooze! My kids and their newly made friends went up and down the slides over and over so many times and then played chase/tag, although running isn't really allowed, and also swam a lot at the big lap pool that during that afternoon was just for family swim time (that part is not shaded at all) and we also hung out under some shade near the cabana tent seating places that were all occupied very early that day (fcfs). The only thing I really didn't like was that those cabana tents were claimed and people would hog them all day with their stuff even when they weren't there, instead of let others use them or share. The other thing is that although the locker rooms were pretty clean, they were super wet and there's no janitorial staff to mop up occasionally throughout the day. However, the life guards on duty were all very friendly, professionally, and well trained young adults, and they kept everyone safe by firmly but politely correcting misbehaviors etc. Overall, we were very pleasantly surprised by how nice this place is, and although the operating hours are limited, it's still a nice aquatic center we plan to visit again. read more

Love the younger kiddo area for kids to swim. They have a mini water park and my youngest kiddo did not want to leave. The big water slides were also open so that was a plus and there are two other large pools for swim. My husband was able to do lap swim while I watched 3 kiddos bc the pool area was easy to watch them all. There is a smaller water slide for the mini tots which my 5 year old loved also. The 3 year old had a lot of fun on the slide. There was also another slide for the 5 year old and he loved it as well. The water sprayers were a plus also. read more

We love this aquatic center! The main pool is large and spacious so even when it's busy it doesn't seem crowded. There is a ton of shaded spots to sit. I am so happy they have cabana areas, picnic table areas under shade and other chair areas under shade. They have two slides my kids love and the little kiddie slide area is cute too. I love the large flip flops, perfect for a photo. It is $5 for kids and $7 for adults, the pool is mainly open 1-5pm. I do wish they would start taking payment earlier, they wait till exactly 1 pm, but the line did move quickly. They allow outside food and drink which is nice. They have nice showers, restrooms and lockers. They have life jackets available. They also have a lap pool that is an additional $1, but the hours are a little different for the lap pool. I'm a fan! The aquatic center is great, with plenty of laps for lap swimming and other features for families such as a children's area. The cost is higher than other pools and they did not participate in a recent area-wide promotion, but I felt the admission cost was nonetheless fair. I wish they had some sort of membership for regular attendees that could lower the per visit cost, like the zoo. There are shaded areas come up but these can fill up quickly, thus I wish they had more areas with shade such as cabanas. Overall a great aquatic center! read more

I just wanted to go swimming... North Natomas gets everything while we have a perfectly good pool at Natomas High that's been shut down for over 10 years(thanks for the reputation)!! Not only that but the cashier didn't want to handle the cash... By federal law(https://www.federalreserve.gov/faqs/currency_12772.htm) you can't turn cash away, they just don't want to deal with it... Cashier was completely incompetent & untrained & even turned away a regular swimmer for lap swim. Saw multiple people try to get in. The site is rigged. No where does it say they can't take cash... Or that you have to pay online(see photo), which is what the cashier said. I read the city's website. Please train your cashiers better, we still deserve to use the facilities. It's our tax money too, feeling very discriminated against... I just wanted to go swimming!! Ugh. P.s. Lots of potential but needs some improvement if wanting to meet the expectations. Pros: 3 swim areas, kid zone, and two water slides. Locker rooms, outdoor showers, plenty of life guards, inexpensive, can bring own food/ beverages inside, line moves fairly quick. Cons: Constant issues with feces in water which causes them to shut the pool down for around 1.5 hours. Been to this center 3 times, every time the 5ft deep pool got shut down 6 times for poop in the water. WTH. If your kid or adult can't contain themselves, don't use a public pool as your restroom. Paying for swim and then not being able to is frustrating. Lifeguards are frequently horseplaying around while also yelling at others to not horseplay. They throw buckets of water on each other, run around, and overall showcase their age which appear all under 20. There's little to no shade, and you're likely to be in direct sun. There's little to no seating, and the seating they have is taken over usually by a single family that stays the entire day. Personally, I'm open to other locations that may have a better way of controlling the amount of times a pool is closed due to bm's. I completely understand that at times, accidents can happen but this seems excessive. Babies have on pull-ups (I hope) so is it just small children that don't have the knowledge to just use the restroom? Do these families get politely asked to vacate for the remainder of the day because the actions of you or your children, just caused 200+ people to be forced to avoid the one thing they came to do. read more

This is an awesome inexpensive way to entertain the kids and cool off at the same time. The smaller kid pool area includes little slides and other little water activities and the deeper pool is a great area also it has stairs across one whole side of the pool as you are going in so for people that want to chill on the stairs and cool off, there's plenty of room. There are also two pretty nice sized water slides that kids and adults can enjoy. The only complaint I have and I'm sure others do as well is there needs to be more cabanas and covered tables and areas for people to relax while they are not in the water. I definitely recommend that you try this aquatic complex out. read more

This place made 2022 one of the most active, happiest summers ever! My daughter has taken water polo lessons, swim lessons through the city, and now is involved in DART swim lessons here at the center. I took advantage of the amazing water aerobics classes offered over the summer and into the fall. With both morning and evening classes almost every day of the week at amazing reasonable prices (and $6 drop in rates), I spent most of my summer in an Aquacise class! It's an astonishingly hardcore workout!! I even brought my fitness-minded hubby for a few classes and he was blown away by the low impact, high intensity training! The locker rooms are clean and well kept, there's outdoor lockers as well. Lots of lounge chairs, cabanas (first come, first served), and an adorable kiddie area complete with slides! Everything is new, clean, and well-kept. The staff is super friendly, the instructors are well trained and very capable, and management is very responsive! They kept a few Aquacise classes open into October for the die-hards because we were enjoying it so much : ) I'm already excited for next year! Hats off to Angelique Ashby and everyone else that brought this beautiful facility to North Natomas. read more

North Natomas Aquatic Center is an absolutely beautiful facility that has two lap pools, an amazing kid's splash pad, and two water slides. It also has lockers and bathrooms. The facility is only a year old, and everything is absolutely immaculate. However, I feel like the hours/programs of the pool could be much better, and the facility is currently underutilized. There is a total of three lap swim times per day M-Th, two on Fr, and one on Sa (none on Sunday). These sessions are only an hour long, which is too short for many people's swimming programming, especially for triathletes. Also, the 50-meter pool was closed to open swim athletes (this was NOT notated on the website), and only three lanes of the 25-yard pool were open for lap swimming. All in all, "open lap swim" feels like an afterthought, so it didn't surprise me that there were not very many "open lap swim" swimmers there. This pool could much better swim the lap swimming community if "open lap swim" was offered in two-hour blocks (say, 6-8am, 10:30-12:30, and 6-8pm), and if both pools had lanes open for "open lap swim." read more

How is this safe when the weather is over 100 degrees? There are very few chairs or places for people to sit or put their belongings. We arrived before opening on a Sunday and were only able to find a single chair for our family of 5 with absolutely no shade to even put it in. Great place to take the kids to in the summer. There's an area for everyone with a splash pool area for smaller kids, a small lap pool and a larger lap pool. It also has a couple of waterslides that accomodate kids and adults. The facility is clean and the showers/locker rooms are great. I do wish the line up area outside had more coverage. During the summer people are lined up outside in the hot sun and during winter people are lined up for events in the rain. That would be my only complaint. read more

This place use to be nice. I went there few weeks ago for my daughter's birthday! Now there's security guards, who made the experience terrible and turned this "nice place" into a pool I'm never taking my kids to again! Rude and disrespectful! Couldn't even enjoy my time there because that's how bad they ruined it. The first time I passed through, security was a woman who obviously wasn't trained at all. The second time I paid again to get in a guy security checked my bag. He told me I can't get in with the cigarettes in my purse! Mind you a lady in front of me walked in with her cigarettes in her kids stroller and my husband had his cigarettes in his pocket, but apparently they only check bags! RIDICULOUS! First off they have no sign that says you can't have cigarettes in your purse. Second I point to the woman security and said, she checked my bag and let me through. His response was, oh she's new here so she doesn't know. Til this moment I don't understand how and why that fell on me when that's their responsibility to train their staff. I say whatever, go put it back in my husband's ride and realized I don't see the keys to the other ride I drove there. Takes me a little while to look for it. I go back to walk through, security tells me go buy another ticket to get in. I'm pissed because I just bought a ticket and he wouldn't let me through because of the cigarettes in my purse! But this time I have to buy another ticket because I took too long, apparently over 20 minutes. I'm pissed so I'm arguing with him and he proceeds to be sarcastic and childish and say yeah go read the signs out there, there's signs out there for a reason, just read it. I turn around to go buy another ticket because all my kids and family are in for my daughter's birthday. He assumes I'm leaving, so he starts yelling yeah leave, Byeeee have a nice day byeeeee! Then he goes get the manager. Manager is trying to see what happened. And even he apologizes, while their sorry ass security is standing behind him all of a sudden quiet with a different attitude. I would've expected the manager to be more understanding and gave me my refund because that was a sorry ass excuse for me to pay again. Anyways, never going to this pool again. read more

I am so thankful for the addition of the North Natomas Aquatic center to the area. After visiting for the first time with some friends, our son couldn't wait to take daddy two days later. For $5 a child and $7 an adult the price is well worth the fun, especially if you are lucky enough to score a cabana. If not, not to worry, there are other shaded areas with picnic tables or pool chairs available. All the times that we've visited we got in line 20 minutes prior to opening and were able to get a cabana. The line moves pretty quick and once you are in, walk (not run) to your preferred shady spot. You are allowed to bring outside food, drinks, coolers, and wagons to carry your stuff. Large floatees are not allowed but water wings are and there are complimentary life jackets available. The recreational pool is large and surrounded by lifeguards regulating on those in and out of the water. The water surrounding the play structure is shallow and safe for kids to play. My son loved the water slides and features all around. I hear the larger water slides are also but haven't had the chance to experience them personally yet. It is a $1 more for a wristband for the lap pool on the far side. The bathrooms and changing rooms are very clean and conveniently located near the recreation pool. Lastly, a couple of extra things to note. You can rent the classroom for parties and there is a household pass for 20 visits available for $90. If you plan on visiting all summer long or up to November I highly recommend getting he pass as it reduces your entrance fee to $4.50 per person the respective prices at the door. (We did rent a classroom for my daughter's 1st birthday. I will write about that experience in another review, don't worry, it went really well.) read more

Great place to come and cool off in this heat!! Not expensive to get in and you can bring your own food and drinks. The only thing is, if you want one of their few cabanas or picnic tables (that are shaded), you have to get there super early and be one of the 1st ones in. You can't reserve them ahead of time. So, if you don't get a picnic table or cabana, you have to find your own shady place. You are allowed to bring in your own canopy or umbrella IF and only IF, the grassy area is open. So far I've been 5 times and the grassy area has been open only once. Shady places aren't hard to find though. And if you keep an eye out, you can spot a family leaving a cabana or picnic table and move in quick when they move out. The water slides are fun. The kiddie area is super cute, with lots of features to keep kids busy. The swimming pool is big and only 4 feet deep throughout. Perfect for wading, and just playing around to keep cool. The lap pool has only been open once out of the 5 times I've been. Which is a shame because that would be a perfect area to just swim in a more calm, quiet environment. As an adult in a public pool setting, sometimes it's nice to swim in an area where there's not so much splashing and screaming, and their lap pool is perfect for that because it's about 9 feet deep, so it wouldn't be comfortable for kids to play around like they do in the other pool. I wish the lap pool and the grassy area were open more. Overall it's a nice place that I will continue to come to. Bathrooms and Locker room have been clean every time. I visited the Auquatic center last year in the summer with my mother and baby. It was so much fun. The baby pool worked out perfect for my 2 year old. My only problem was that it was so crowded there was no place for us to sit. They had music playing, which was really nice. The lifeguards were professional and very aware of any foul play. I would suggest that the bigger kids go in the actual pool amd not the kiddie section. The bathrooms were surprisingly clean. Overall, we enjoyed our time. read more

Finally got a chance to visit the new aquatic center! Only $6.00 per person. All chairs, cabanas and lockers are FREE !! Seating is very limited and theres probably 3-4 cabanas which are a good size. Thry dont take reservations for them judt first come for serve. I recommend bringing your own chair, umbrella and you definitely need to bring a lock for the lockers. They don't sell food or drinks but you're welcome to bring your own food in. They have life jackets but if you bring in one it has to be lifeguard approved/certified. Hubby and I signed up for the very first TTh and Sat class for Aquacise. Emerson, the spunky, young Instructor has been the only Instructor I've seen so far, almost a month into class. She is very animated and mature for her age. Love her 80's music which I highly suspect that it was made by her Parents for her . I have not taken many Aquacise classes but I enjoy this one so far. The locker facility is very clean and the pool itself is very clean. The staff have been nothing but phenomenal. Try it out-if you live around this pool, there is no reason not to enjoy such a relaxing place. read more

We are participating in the first round of swim lessons here for little kids. The instructors are well-prepared, patient, and super sweet, and we are pleased with how everything has been coordinated so far. The facility is absolutely awesome, of course! Each area of the pool is just top-notch. Not much seating to go around, so during open swim hours I would recommend bringing your own camp chairs to sit on the grassy area (at least as a back up plan). Minus 1 star because there isn't a family locker/changing room, only men's and women's. Disappointing for young families! There are gender neutral bathrooms though, so that is a plus. read more

Very small for the growing natomas area & very crowded. Overcrowded at that. Not properly staffed slides have been closed because they don't have anyone to work them. The hours are terrible and the membership wasn't worth it. It's hard to say that however because the few times we did go we got to go in a special line, the line to get in is ridiculous. We will likely not be returning next summer although we live so close, just too small too many people and not ideal for summertime since the hours are limited. They wouldn't even let us use the remainder of the pass for lap swim instead of rec. just ridiculous read more

Complex was very clean and new. We came at 1pm on a Friday and easily got a cabana w/ shade for my 3 under 3 and 5 year old. Staff was friendly and professional. Lots of lifeguards. They provide all size life jackets so it feels very safe. Only bummer was the two big slides were closed the day we came. I was told it was due to staffing and people calling out. While we were super bummed to not be be able to ride the slides, I'm happy with the decision they made to be sure they were well staffed. read more
