I've always had an awesome time running with ONGRID. I've brought my vehicle to two events with them, one at Sonoma and their other at Thunderhill. Both events were organized well from start to finish, which made the days smooth and stress-free. Check-in is quick, drivers' meeting were clear, and the staff keeps everything moving without feeling rushed. Track time was solid with good spacing between cars, so you could actually focus on driving instead of constantly dealing with traffic. The staff are approachable and helpful, whether you're newer to track days or more experienced. Overall, Ongrid events are well-run and driver-focused with a great atmosphere. OnGrid is the Sh*t! I've participated in many track days and this is one of the best organizers. Events are always on schedule and smooth, and focused on providing as much track time as possible. Everyone in the beginners group were going off track taking away track time. My only full track time around the Thunderhill was the last session of the day. I've tracked with every track organization in So. Cal. OnGrid is one of my favorites, if not my favorite. Unlike other organizations, they don't pack the track with a lot of cars. There are a fair amount of cars, but it is still a low car count and it never gets overwhelming. The advanced groups are pretty damn good and you won't find yourself in much traffic. You get a ton of seat time. More than many organizations. They only have four run groups and they are on time and constantly running (except for lunch). They are a safe organization and they take driver safety seriously. All the events I've been to have been well-staffed by friendly, attentive folks. Their pricing is more than reasonable. For the low number of cars and the significant amount of seat time, you'd expect to pay more, but you don't. Overall, they're a great organization. read more

I went to my first track day at Buttonwillow yesterday with OnGrid. I came out with my dad and two coworkers and we all had a blast. The staff/team at OnGrid are very knowledgable and professional and they did a great job. I ran with the beginner track group and paid for instruction. Well run, reasonable price, and chill organizers. You can't ask for more from a track day.

I've done a lot of track days in the last 5 years. Ongrid does stand out in one aspect, they are painfully strict. If you're late to a meeting you will be "dealt with", their words exactly. Their entire attitude is authoritarian. There is no light mood. Most organizations make tons of jokes while explaining the rules. Not ongrid. One person asked a question and the ongrid organizer sounded really annoyed. I missed the driver's download meeting by a couple of minutes so they would not allow me to run the entire next session. That's pretty ridiculous. Another guy was late to the morning meeting and they were treating him like a child asking him "why were you late? What were you doing?" This 20-something guy interrogating a grown man about why he was late. The organization out on the track was fine. The price is normal, not high not low. I will not be going with them anymore. read more

To provide some context... I've done 22 track days in Northern California in the past 4 years and 6 of those have been with Ongrid. The other track days have been with SpeedSF, NCRC, GGLC, TrackMasters, and private organizations. Communication: Ongrid has the best social media presence and communication out of any track organization I've seen. They do an excellent job marketing their events on Facebook and building a community. I have DMed the organizers on Facebook and Instagram and gotten a response very quickly. Price: Ongrid beats every single other track organization on price. They offer early bird pricing and it easily beats most other organizations by 15-50 dollars. This is really fantastic because it makes track days (safe driving) more accessible to car enthusiasts that are on the fence about whether to attend or not. You get what you pay for though... Track time: Out of all the organizations I've been to Ongrid has the least amount of track time on paper and in practice. If you look at the schedule you will notice that there are 5 run groups and each run group has 5 sessions but not all 5 sessions are 20 minutes long! Normally the last session is cut down to 15 minutes and on top of that it is the session is merged with another run group's session. People generally leave towards the end of the day so I understand why they would merge the run groups for the last session. Regardless, other track organizations typically run 4 run groups that have 5 sessions at 20-25 minutes per session. In practice I have had many sessions either cut short or just eliminated entirely because of on track incidents. Safety: I generally feel that Ongrid has the least safe events. Ongrid events are certainly much safer than driving on the street but I have undoubtedly seen the most on track incidents occur at their track days. To be clear I'm talking about offs, tows, disabled cars, fires, oil spills, and drivers ignoring rules. I suspect that Ongrid's fantastic ability to market towards young track drivers is the reason for this. There was once incident that was handled extremely poorly by the track organizers that made me give up on the organization. An older man in a classic muscle car had shown up to the event and was very disrespectful to everyone from the start. He was running in the beginner group because his son had signed him up and I believe the organizers had told the flaggers to put a red flag on the course to test the beginner group. The older man finished the session and was upset about the red flag test. He made a big deal about how much of a hot shot driver he was and surprisingly Ongrid moved him up to a more advanced run group. Unsurprisingly he ended up being a nuisance in the more advanced run group. He was driving slowly, off line, and was extremely reluctant to give point bys. Ultimately he ended up losing a wheel and becoming disabled. My point is, Ongrid should have never moved this guy up and they should have stood their ground. I think Ongrid is a good option for new track drivers or track drivers on a budget. However, at this point in my life I would rather shell out the additional money for more track time with safer drivers and a more experienced organization. read more

OnGrid is one of the newer companies out there, but they are up there with the best when it comes to Track Day and HPDE(High Performance Driving Events). Their HPDE events are a lot of fun, but more importantly they are safe. The way they keep beginner drivers safe is by running a driving school for the drivers, keeping them in a controlled and tightly monitored situation for the first few sessions. With the other groups, they will have MANDATORY download meetings after their first sessions to see what they can change and see what is needed to make the event running smoothly and safely. This shows that they really care about what is going on and want to make a difference in the way the event is run. When they are compared to other companies that run Track days, they are very helpful and easy to work with. Their events are organized and on schedule! This is a HUGE plus when it comes to track days. Other organizations run behind schedule or cut sessions short because there are so many people on track. OnGrid does things right! I have tracked with many organizations for the past 10 years of my HPDE driving and they are definitely my favorite company to drive with. read more

Been running with this group since the start alittle over a year ago. I did driving school with them which helped me learn the best possible lines and it helped me develop a very good driving habit. later on I did the intermediate group which allowed open passing on straights which helps me improve on my driving and I will be planning to move onto the low advance group on the near future. I've attended around a dozen events in the past couple years, most of which at willow springs and most of which through extreme speed. For reference, I've always been one to believe track etiquette is one of the most important things at HPDE's and I've never been black-flagged or had a complaint against me. One was also through ACH, who unfortunately doesn't seem to be running events anymore. Anyways, no coordinator is going to be perfect, and I've been happy enough with both, but I decided to give on grid a try. On grid, impressively, seemed to combine everything that wasn't perfect and bad about ACH/extreme speed into a single event. Let's start off with seat time/sessions. When my group and I initially signed up/paid for the event we paid for 6 sessions. When we get there, we noticed it was cut down to 5 sessions. When I asked, the guy just said "well, the schedule says 5, so it's 5...". We paid for 6, very shady. Turns out that they opened up another group "because of popular demand" and had to cut a session from everyone. Huge bait and switch. They are also poor at announcing meetings and run groups, I missed a session because of it. They expect you to keep track of time, not unrealistic, but is it so hard to announce it? I'm not good at tracking time, my watch and phone are deep under all my gear and I'll lose track of time tuning the car or talking to people. Anyways, paid for 6 sessions, got 4. Another new to me is the download meeting which is basically a condescending meeting where they get you all together and treat you like a group of kids and tell you why you suck as a group, and then they single you out by car number if you did something in front of every one instead of being respectful and talking to you man-to-man. I didn't have any complaints against me, but the meeting felt childish. Moving on, I've never been with a coordinator who could make a track event not fun, and discourages you from setting the fastest time you can. There's a lot of things wrong but lets talk about off's... with on.grid, going off track immediately makes you the enemy. For the beginner groups, one off, get black-flagged, and your done for the session. I understand multiple farming excursions, or if this were HTM, but this was for SOW where off's are reasonably safe. As long as traffic behind you is clear, the best way to learn the limits (IMO) is to experiment...sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but that's the point of a controlled environment/HPDE, right? I challenge you to find an experienced driver who got where they are by always keeping it under 9/10th's. For the intermediate-advanced groups (where I'm running), I dipped a couple wheels on T11 CW (who hasn't?) and got black flagged. I go into the hot pit where I get told I need to calm down and control my adrenaline and slow down. For reference, I've also gone full send during a clear track at phil hill with a different coordinator, had a four-wheel off, voluntarily pulled into the hot pits to make sure my car wasn't going to litter the track where the conversation went "yup, car looks good to go out... was it fun?... 'yep'... okay good, have fun out there." My point is, 95% of drivers naturally have good etiquette and rank safety as their #1 priority, ultimately we're all here to have fun and share a common interest, but on.grid treats you like a bunch of 5 year olds. read more

I first drove with OnGrid back in November 2016. Having only driven with my father's organization of choice, I was a bit hesitant to venture off with another organization seeing as I felt so at home with this said organization. After spending the night and day with the gentlemen of OnGrid, I immediately felt more than welcome with this tight knit community. Not only do the people of this organization know how to drive, but they know how to have fun. More importantly, they are surprisingly very well organized and stick to their schedule (They hand out schedules at the driver's meeting which makes keeping track of your next session effortless!). I've run many different track days with different organizations over the years, and I can say these guys are the best I've ever run with by far! Right from the start, communication was top notch through both social media and email correspondence. Upon entrance to the event, I immediately noticed it was not over crowded at all. Ongrid staff were extremely friendly and wearing bright red shirts so they were easily identifiable. They gave out schedules for the day so there would be no confusion. Throughout the entire event I had car issues and the staff were very understanding and willing to let me run in other run groups just so I could get my car out on track that day.
