This was probably the worst experience I have had with any part of building and decorating my home. I ordered two ceiling fans on 9/2/18. After not hearing from the store for over two months, and leaving multiple messages, I finally spoke to customer service in New Jersey. The fans were not delivered until 11/21. After hiring an electrician to put up the fans. I was informed that the on fan had a broken motor and the other fan was missing a wall plate. I then had to wait another 3 weeks for Capital lighting to replace the broken fan and missing wall plate. The technician was over two hours late without a call. When I contacted the manager I was told he out and would contact me. That was December 18. I just heard from nine days later . His message...he will send someone over 1/8 and take down my fan and refund my money. Worst experience ever. Stay away from Capital Lighting read more

My wife and I purchased several fixtures from Capitol Lighting in Boca Raton for our residence in the Oaks development in West Boca Raton. While the price was reasonable for the fixtures, Normally, I would not take the time to post a review simply based upon the price paid. The reason for this outstanding review is due to the exceptional service my wife and I received from the Company. We received our fixtures and one of the fixtures had several pendant lights hanging from the ceiling platform. One of the pendants proved defective. When we contacted Capitol, Tony the store manager was right on the case. They ordered a replacement pendant and set a time for installation at our residence. CAPITAL LIGHTING There are surprisingly few choices for lighting fixtures in the West Palm Beach area. The low end is covered by Lowes and Homedepot. The mid-range belongs to Capital Lighting. I have made multiple purchases from Capital lighting over the last four years. I have mixed feelings concerning my shopping experiences. PROS: - large online catalog and inventory of lighting fixtures. - Shopping online is easy and the merchandise is shipped quickly. - There are several outlets in Southern Florida. CONS: - Limited number of items on display at the outlets - call first. - Sales staff is not knowledgeable about products - my experience. - Sales staff is slow (days) to answer questions - my experience. I would suggest perusing their website and order the fixtures online. The sales staff lacks initiative. If you have questions about the products go directly to manufacturer website or call them directly. The reoccurring theme is to avoid the sales staff, unless you want to micro-manage a salesperson. You can get the answers quicker yourself - I did. Several followup calls later, I finally got a copy of the purchase invoice emailed to me. Just buy the lighting off the website and save yourself a lot of frustration. read more

I have spent the last few months going in and out of Capital Lighting buying, fixtures, fans, and even mirrors. My salesman was so awesome, Mike Bitchatcho. He helped me figure out the correct fixtures for each area of my new house and which sizes could go best with the dining table I had or loft area, etc. He really has a great sense of style and knows which products are the best. I even had a return of a ceiling fan that didn't work out for me. I had no problems returning it for full price and got a better one that was recommended and I love it. I got an Island light, pendants, dining room light, several mirrors, sconces, semi flush mounts, like 4 ceiling fans, basically an entire house of lighting. I got a few lights from Home Depot and I regretted it and returned them and got such better quality ones from Capital Lighting. I had never visited the store before we bought our new house. She listened to our needs and was able to help us find a light that she thought would be perfect for our foyer. As soon as I met with Deb and Andy the Sales Mgr at the Boca location, I was treated with exceptional customer service, patience and they made the purchase so easy. They spent 2 weeks with me, allowing me to bring lights home and if they didn't work, made the exchange seamless and didn't stop working with me until the "perfect" 5 chandeliers were found. I paid for a ceiling fan that Capitol Lighting stated they had in stock and a week later after it missed it's delivery date by several days I had to call Capitol and inform them they didn't meet their end of the bargain. Truth was the fan was *never* actually in stock and wouldn't ship for months. Working with their Customer Service department was painful, particularly insulting was their refusal to honor the $20 coupon used for my original purchase on another fan order that Capitol actually had in stock. Capitol Lighting is dishonest and their poor attempts to cover their tracks with changing excuses is shameful. This is not a business that I want to give my money to, now or ever. Our consultant, Judy, was very helpful and able to guide us to find the correct size/shape of fixture to fit in the room. We took pictures of the dining room, and Judy's expertise guided us to a much more appropriate fit. We found a perfect chandelier but the floor model wasn't available, so Judy was able to find another one in the warehouse. Shipment of goods was fast, and the company called us immediately to tell us that all was in stock ready for our pickup.
