This is for after installation issues/ customer service. After about 3 years, our 2-door driveway gate started to misalign probably due to its large size and weight. Unfortunately, I tried contacting Andrey numerous times over months, patiently waiting for assistance in repairing the gate to no avail. Initially I was told they could fit me in after they were done with a job. I must have tried for nearly a year to get someone from Capitol Iron to assess the issue and see if we could try to fix the gate plus I wanted to install auto openers. My messages were never returned after the initial contact describing the issue and being told they would come out at a later time. The initial quality and service were really good. Extremely professional. We called Capital Iron. They responded in a timely manner & provided a reasonable estimate which Andrey, the owner, put in extra time and kept to original estimate. Capital Iron poured cement , replaced wheels on gate with better quality wheels then installed an automatic gate opener. Andrey connected the hub to our wifi, synchronized it to my phone and garage. Andrey and his crew did a fantastic job taking my backyard from an old run down wood picket fence, to a beautiful iron fence. They did it all in 1 day even with the weird slope i have and needing to slant some of the sections. Andrey kept me informed the whole time what was going on and why he was doing certain things. To begin, I live on an acre and have a very large wooden swinging gate that leads to an RV pad and the backyard. As it was 15 years old, it had started to sag and was quite difficult to drag open and close.. I found Andrey and Capitol Iron on Yelp and liked the reviews and photos of his work. All I can say is that I'm ecstatic that I chose Capitol Iron!!! Andrey came up with a wonderful plan to replace the fence and gate and did fantastic work! Not only is it a beautiful gate- actually one small and one large swinging gate- but this thing will easily last the rest of my life- it's bombproof! They created and installed a nice iron gate that opens electronically. The workmanship is amazing and the service was incredible. Andrey programmed my remote controls, my car, and installed software so I can open and close the gate from my smart phone. I know the latter sounds crazy, but you would be surprised how often I use it. I recently had a little "accident" with the gate and needed help to get it to work correctly. It had nothing to do with their work, it was just one of those dumb accidents, but Andrey came out the same day - a Friday - spent almost an hour fixing what was wrong, and then wouldn't let me pay him. Again, the repair was not at all his fault. Really amazing customer service. We have one of those homes with the garage in the back. We had a redwood fence on its last leg and knew we had to do something very soon. We wanted an iron gate that also offered privacy and opened automatically so we could park our car behind it. Our budget was slim, but we wanted our gate to last, so we did our research and called Capitol Iron. Andre showed up to help us out. He was so friendly, yet very professional and showed a lot of passion for his work...the true hallmarks of an artist/craftsman. He showed us photo examples of his work and gave us a detailed written quote later the same evening based on what we wanted. The quote was pricey, but it included all the bells and whistles down to electronic entry controls. We met again to finalize the details and he helped us to figure out how to work within our limited budget. We ended up with a manually operated, double door iron gate with redwood privacy slats that we could open and park our car behind. Andrey built it so we could add electronic openers to it at a later time if we want. The gate is beautiful and a definite upgrade that will likely outlast our house. It is that solid! We have received many compliments and noticed people slowing their cars as they drive by to take a look. I highly recommend Andre and Capitol Iron. I am pleased to report that the experience and the work product rates 5-Stars! Andrey Zhdanov, the owner, was attentive and professional. He delivered at the quoted price which was reasonable, especially for the top quality of the product. They fit us in on our tight schedule and finished in less than a day. The products they chose for the opener, the ball-bearing hinges, and the automatic lock are top notch! I had an initial concern that the company had Iron in their name and we had wood gates, but they knew exactly want to do with our older wood gate. The gates are 7+ years old and were slightly sagging. Andrey and David came onsite and worked efficiently and with great quality. They consulted us if they had questions and implemented exactly what we expected. They used iron straps to brace-up the gates so they no longer sag. The openers and the gates are now almost silent (the manual gates probably woke the neighbors when they were opened or closed before the new openers!), and the lock is very secure. Opening and closing is all easy and user friendly. In summary we are very satisfied and highly recommend Capitol Iron. The winter storms blew down our dual swing gates plus 40' of wood fence. I got bids from 3 companies. Andrey was the only one who not only explained in detail what products he uses, but why. He uses quality components because they will last and look the best. We got a motorized iron single arm swing gate, with wood panels. I custom ordered an arch top with leaves, and loved it. It was wonderful working with Capital Iron as Andrey is a timely and clear communicator. He came out twice just to make sure he understood the design I wanted. Their prices are slightly higher, but the iron was powdered instead of painted, and the wood was kiln dried and tongue and groove so there wouldn't be any gaps between the boards. Five years ago, I used Capitol Iron to turn my iron gate into a electric one, for ease of access down our drive way and security. I wasn't sure that a 90+ year old gate could be so easy to update to current times. We got a keep pad, and wireless system added to make the gates open by push of a button, or keying in a preprogrammed code. We have never had a problem, it works perfectly. Recently we bought a new car and tried to program the buttons in the car to open the gate, and in doing that I deprogrammed the codes in both cars, and the key pad. I tried everything, you tube, I read the paperwork that was left - and could've fix my mistake. Thankfully, I found Andrey' s business card and called him at 10:40 p.m. just to leave a message to see if he could help - he called me right back and the very next day came over to reset the car and program the new car!
