Truth be told, we went with this company versus other ones we were happy with in the past because we needed the job done faster than we could get scheduled with the others. The cost also worked within our budget. Scheduling & getting an estimate was quick & easy. While the actual fence work was done efficiently & came out as we wanted, there were some communication & scheduling issues along the way. First, after waiting to hear back with our contract, we contacted them & were told that the paperwork got missed. Then when we called to find out about scheduling a work day, we were told one was already on the books without us even being consulted, which didn't work for us. Then when no workers showed during the 2 hour window (8-10a) we were given, we contacted them & were told the window moved to (11-1p) instead. We are happy with our new nice-looking fence, but customers should expect to be proactive & flexible dealing with the scheduling & lack of communication. read more

We spent $26,000 for a new fence 3 years ago. Now it's falling apart because they used the cheapest, smallest nails I've ever seen. They installed the vinyl ranch fence section with no concrete, the warranty is worthless and I'll have to redo a lot of this myself. Hire anyone else. read more

It's rare I write reviews, but after my experience with Lifescaping Fence, this is a warning to future customers. I hired them to install a fence and gate, and while the initial installation seemed okay, the problems started soon after. The gate, which should have been a simple part of the job, has required multiple return visits--and it's still not right. Each time they came back, I hoped the issue would be resolved, but unfortunately, the repairs were either incomplete or created new problems. It's incredibly frustrating to deal with the same issue over and over again. I expected professional, lasting work, not a revolving door of technicians who can't seem to fix a basic gate. I would not recommend Lifescaping if you're looking for a fence company that stands by its work. My dog found hole in fence and kept running into neighbor's yard. I replaced 40+ feet of fence along the eastern border of the property. The team used high quality dog-eared redwood lumber that matched the dimensions of the existing fence. The repair was professional and done in only a couple of hours. The work was pricier than some of the other bids, but it was the only bid I received from a verified provider and was license/bonded. As we did 18 years ago, we contacted Home Depot to replace our backyard fence which had fallen due to heavy winds in the area. Home Depot referred us to Lifescaping. Rather than a simple replacement which would have cost just a few hundred dollars more than our old fence, we decided to go a few grades higher to a privacy fence (over lapping pickets). Job finished in less than five hours with nothing pre-assembled. Craftsmanship was excellent. Yes there were a few cosmetic issues, but that's on me. If they had addressed those issues, they would have deserved six stars. UPDATE Lifescaping came out and fixed the fabric and put it in the correct direction. They did not completely finish the gate because they did not have the part on hand. A day later our fence was vandalized. Someone in their office contacted me asking for me to remove this review. After sending pics of the pole they never finished they said it is vandalism so they won't fix it I guess. BUYER BEWARE I am left with the option to take them to court, or leave it be. read more

In July of 2020, I had over 200 feet of fence with one very large gate, each section of gate 5 1/2 ft. totaling 11ft. and each section of gate weighing over 100 lbs. This spring the wind pulled the small one inch "SCREWS" right out of the support post with the gate falling down. Anyone with any experience would have known to use large bolts and not tiny screws! Called Lifescape and since it was over two yrs. since installed, would not come out. It wasn't my fault they used inexperienced installers and used small screws. Besides that also had a small gate installed and had to call them back (within the one year timeframe) because of a missing screw/bolt on gate latch. Had to call someone with more experience to repair gate. Some may have good experience with this company but just wait a couple of years and then tell us what you think! Do not hire this company as they will cause you much stress and more money repairing their mistakes. read more

We recently had a fence completed by Lifescaping, and honestly, we were VERY nervous given all the negative feedback on their Yelp page. However Nick, who came out to provide a quote was on-time, friendly, and able to quickly provide a quote to us the same day. He was very professional and seemed very knowledgeable about what he was talking about. After making payment, we were able to schedule an appointment for later that week. The 3-man crew showed up within the allocated time window, and despite the minor drizzle and cold winds that started up halfway through the day, was able to get our entire 120' fence completed the same day. The workmanship is great, and the fence is level all the way down (something I could not say the same about the fence surrounding the other two sides of our property which was completed by two different contractors). In addition, we were pleasantly surprised to see that they used thick, redwood planks instead of cheap, pine planks. The workers were friendly, and made sure to clean up before they left. And the cost for the contract with an inclusion of a Home Depot 10% discount was definitely cheaper than many of their competitors. Although we hope that we do not have to replace anymore of our fences for MANY MANY years to come, we will definitely be recommending Lifescaping to all of our friends and family! read more

After shopping around a few quotes, we proceeded with LifeScaping. Not only was it the best pricing but the quality of work and finished product speaks for itself. We replaced a 64 foot section of fence in our yard (shared with back neighbor). Last minute our neighbor wanted to not go with the "good neighbor" style, and they had no problem making those accommodations last minute. While we were at Home Depot, we decided to get connected with their free quote business for a fence we were planning to build. Scheduling the appointment was super fast once I was able to get through on the home Depot/life scaping line and I was scheduled for a window between 3:00 and 4:00 on the day of my choosing. Some days prior to our appointment, I was called and asked if they could move the appointment to a window between 1:00 and 2:00 instead of between 3:00 and 4:00 and I told them that was fine. The lady on the phone was friendly and I had no issue with changing this time. The day the consultant was supposed to arrive, I get a phone call well before one and the man on the phone very gruffly asked me where I was. I assumed that it was the life scaping consultant because that was the only thing I had going that day. I told him our appointment window was from 1:00 to 2:00 and so I hadn't arrived at the property yet. He was very upset and said that he would wait but he made it clear he wasn't happy about it. We arrived at the property before our 1:00 window and the consultant was there waiting. The consultant said that it was a window but he could arrive before that, however that's not what they told me when I made the appointment. Regardless, I apologized for the misunderstanding, and we took him to the area we were wanting to get a quote for in the backyard. I think that open communication is pretty important for any relationship, even with getting quotes, so I told the man that we had spoken with one of their competitors was out earlier. Instead of seeing this as open communication, it seems like he took it as opportunity for conflict and reacted poorly with a gruff manner and unnecessarily defensive comments. Our interaction with the competitor included them doing all of the measuring themselves which we appreciated. With this consultant, he had my husband do a lot of the measuring with him and was very gruff and demanding which I thought was again unnecessary. Throughout the process we had a hard time coming to an understanding and it felt like each point of conversation for clarification was unnecessarily challenging. Once all the measuring was done, he told us that he couldn't give us a quote until we decided on what kind of fencing top we wanted. We told him that we would love to know some different quotes for different styles and he said just go on the website and figure out which one you want. I thought this was not very effective customer service when he had a pamphlet with examples with him that he could have easily had us look at. The consultant went to his car and did some calculations and then brought us the quote. The quote for the competitor with almost identical equipment was easily $2,000 or more dollars less and the experience with that consultant and that competitor was significantly more positive. I think if his quote had been closer to the competition's quote it would have been apples to apples, but he was so rude and unprofessional, I would definitely not take his higher quote especially given his rudeness and unnecessarily confrontational demeanor during our consultation with him. read more

During this time of Pandemic we understand that it took longer than expected to get someone out to replace our wind-downed fence. We understand that! The communication to us was good for timing and the delays. The fence looks nice and appears solid. Why is this review getting such a low review? The ultimate mess and broken parts left behind and total lack of responsiveness to help fix. --Mess: large piles of dirt left near post holes, discarded concrete from prior posts, moved and not replaced slate, new concrete overflowing onto areas not necessary and totally inconsistent between posts. Hi. We used Lifescaping for my mom's fence in Fremont. We got their referral from Home Depot. The only contractor for fencing through Home Depot. So communication is everything in this world. But the office of Lifescaping is lacking in this for sure. They don't talk to eachother, they never follow through, and they know nothing. IF you can get past them, something may get done. But good luck. Since I'm the "contractor finder" for my 83 year old mom, they decided that they should never follow up with my mom directly, but would send stuff to her address with my name. Stupid. But again nothing we spoke to the office staff about ever got done. Fence: Mom wanted a new no-maintenance fence that looked cool. So I found it at Home Depot. Had to wait for months for it to be in stock due to "covid". After signing a contract for the fence, I was the one who had to keep checking on availability. I finally found it available again so mom called this company and the female who answered said they don't do those kinds of fences. "HUH". Mind you we had the estimator Ronnie out already and a signed contract. I had to call them and they would have to "get back to mom by end of business day". Not. Back and forth, back and forth. I had to email Ronnie multiple times. He had to do something at the office end. Turns out the person incharge of the contract was gone. Like not working there. But no one had any idea about anything. To shorten this story up, you can figure out why I complain about the communication. So on top of that, the original person handling it gave mom all incorrect information about how to pay for it and such. (eye roll) Further delays for covid again, blah blah blah They finally say they they will be coming next week, will confirm, no confirmation, ..... They did install in one day. Beautiful fence. Everyone loves it. But the guys that installed it, put it up against the gutter drain. Not the house. Stupid right? And the gutter is now crooked. I'm sure Ronnie didn't say "Hey guys, plant that fence right up against a 60 year old gutter drain". The fence material is super. Yay HD. But the rest...? Will it stand for years to come? Yes. Be. careful with this company. They lack customer service and do not take responsibility for issues they cause. Positives: The fence was completed and looks nice. Negatives: They destroyed my shrubbery and then said that they weren't responsible for it because they needed 2 feet of clearance to do the fence. Well, that would have been true EXCEPT they weren't doing the fence in my front yard- just my neighbors front fence. Then they destroyed my shed and again said that it wasn't their fault. My shed was in proper working order when I left. Oh, let me clarify a little better. I had left on holiday, and was out of town when I am assuming that they arranged the time and date of replacement with my neighbor- I NEVER RECEIVED A PHONE call asking if it was acceptable to start the project. So I arrived home to see a new fence, my destroyed shed and my destroyed shrubbery. I called the company and left a voice mail asking to be called back. There was no call. I called again and spoke with a company representative who said that she had emailed me. Never received- but AGAIN, I specifically asked for a phone call. She then said that I needed to email pictures. I did as requested and received an email saying that they didn't believe that the problems that occurred were their fault. WATCH THEM CLOSELY... This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. They do not respond or communicate well. They use shoddy wood; they had wood-to-ground contact which causes wood rot; they entered my private property without my prior approval or permission; they arrived and left without telling me several times; they didn't allow me to do a walk-through...they just left; the gate had a small gap and when they came to "repair" the gate, they ruined it. Instead of doing a small repair on the gate to eliminate the small gap, they cut it down the whole side of the gate making a gap 1.5 inches wide, then filled the bigger gap they created with a horrible piece of wood that is not square to the fence and does not close properly. Why they would ever do that is beyond me. They lied about what they had done, and they refuse to repair the gate to its original size, configuration, and quality because "the gate is functional". read more

We lost 111 ft of shared fencing in the Jan 2023 storms. Lifescaping was recommended by our good friends who used them in the past with 5 shared fences, all of whom were extremely pleased) They had our estimate completed within days. It was very affordable , one half the cost of the companies that gave us a " ballpark" over the phone. Our area had suffered a catastrophic event and this company was the only one that was not taking advantage of this by price gouging. The work was exceptional, workers were expert at their jobs, and it was completed as promised within the day. The fence is beautiful and we are beyond pleased ,as are our neighbors. Yelled at by "manager " Luciano today after I had tried for a month to get somebody to come out and discuss problems with the fence. Vanessa, in charge of repairs never returned any phone calls or emails. Chris in the office was very kind but I'm still having issues and no repairs . There are many boards that appear bad , a sprinkler drip line was cut with concrete poured over an existing sprinkler head and there are large gaps between the ground and the fence. Attempted to have manager Luciano come and discuss issues and he stated he would kick dirt towards the area if I wanted that, not take off any part of the bill for the damage to my sprinkler line, and basically yelled at me over the phone. How do I talked to an owner who responds to these reviews ? They did state they would replace some boards . Fence also not stepped as per contract. Super upset. read more

The absolute worst company DO NOT USE!. It started with the salesmen who never mentioned to me about the different types of gates that I could use specifically the one that helps with sag. Then they came out, left a mess and dirt, nails and debris. Poor clean up. Then when I inspected the work, within 2 weeks of the job, my gate started to sag and now won't close, and some of the boards in the fence weren't even nailed in. When I called to have them come out and fix this they said I'd have to buy a new gate because I didn't get the right one. But they also said they'd be out to fix and repair the gate and the fence. Well it's been a month now, and they have cancelled and no showed me 3 times. Save yourself the trouble and stay away from this company!! It's the absolute worst! Not even worth one star. Thought since Home Depot contracted them out I would be safe and they would be efficient.. it's been 3 weeks and no estimate sure I was thinking since it was a Friday I would give them to the following Tuesday. WARNING!!! BUYER BEWARE!!! Lifescaping Fence will cost you more money than expected. Won't communicate with you. Make promises they won't keep. And their work is definitely subpar (see photos). The everyday homeowner should steer clear as they do not respect or prioritize your "small" job. My experience: They no call no showed on the first day of a 4 day, 4 neighbors, $12,000 ($6400ish mine) fence project, a Monday. Which I confirmed was a go with their office the preceding Friday. I had taken the day off work because they recommended in the contract being home for the start of the project. Next day, Tuesday, by 8am they had ruptured our gas line, which per our contact they were supposed to have marked by the gas company and didn't. We had to evacuate our home (3 people, 3 cats and 2 dogs) and we all had to call off work because we work from home. Gas company wrecked our sprinkler system fixing their mess up. Lifescaping said it's not their problem. Wednesday they didn't come out because they had to wait for utilities to be marked. I was promised by the Lifescaping management they would send 3-4 crews the scheduled last day of the project, Thursday, and complete it in one day to make up for the issues. One crew of two people showed up to dismantle, remove and rebuild 200+ft of fence and two gates. When I called to ask about the situation I was informed "you get what you get." Needless to say they had to come back on Friday to complete the job. Then it took over a month to speak with someone about the issues with the install. There are huge gaps, bowed boards, and whatever it was they did to the gutter drain?!? Then I had to hear about how much money the company lost on our job because of the gas line cost and fines. Like it was our fault! I am personally out two days of work leave ($800+), sprinkler repair, ($75) and money for our gardener ($50) who was scheduled for Friday (and we didn't know we'd need to cancel until Thursday so we still had to pay.) we were given $300 off and 15 loose boards so we can "fix" the issues if they really bother us. read more
