04/18/26 The burger was pretty good, but the fries not so much. The fries weren't hot and they were pretty bland. We made it a combo because we were pretty hungry and looking to get a little more full from our meal. I'd recommend just skipping the fries because they're not really worth it. You'll be happy with the burger, but it might leave you still a bit hungry if that's all you eat.

We heard from a local that this is their favorite lunch spot. We rolled up and found out it was a food truck parked in the lot of the Chuck Wagon Market and Lodge. There were a ton of people waiting for their burgers, and there were table located around the market to enjoy your meal. We ordered 2 cheeseburgers and a pulled pork burger. For the number of people ordering, we got our meal pretty quickly. However, we found out they gave us the wrong order. Oh well! We got 4 burgers instead of 3. They cook their patties medium and they have very fresh toppings. It was a very good cheeseburger! The fries were basic but still cooked nicely. One thing to note, if there is any wind on the day you visit, think about eating in a place that is sheltered from the dust that is kicked up when people drive into the parking lot.

The locals told us we had to try this place and of course there was a huge line with lots of locals in it. Service was good and they got the burgers out in a timely fashion which was impressive. My husband tried both the bacon burger and the Mac and cheese. Like other reviewers he didn't care for the mustard flavor in the Mac burger and wished he had gotten two bacon ones instead but it was still fun to try. I've never had Mac and cheese on a burger before. My friends loved their blue cheese burgers and one got the pork before it sold out for the night. My daughter really enjoyed the fries. I do wish they sold bottled water too because only having soda made us dip into the grocery store next door for just water. I'm not a huge burger person (I love fish) so I wasn't overly impressed but I do appreciate that I didn't require any extra sauce because they're generous on the fry sauce! It was a good burger and we took them to go back to our air bnb because we heard they could be messy to eat. I'm glad we tried this place but I do seek out lighter fare on a daily basis.

The Mac and cheese burger made me ascend. Must I say more about how good this is. This food truck has one of if not the best burgers I've ever had. The workers were nice. And even the fry's were really good. All you must know is that I wish I could give this six stars.

These are some of the juiciest and yummiest burgers I've had in the longest time! The topping combos are creative, the patties tasted fresh, and the service was prompt and friendly. This is a food truck, so be prepared to take your order to go, or look for the picnic tables behind the food truck in the grassy area.

Easily the BEST food near Capitol Reef! The burgers are mouthwatering and we came back here twice. The only reason I give it 4/5 stars is because the guy at the counter seemed very impatient both times that we were ordering, even though there wasn't anyone behind us. It was a little off-putting. The tables were also sticky & I would have appreciated wipes since your hands will get very messy!

Stopped by for a quick bite and was pleasantly surprised. I got the cheeseburger, and it was delicious. The bun was sturdy, the fry sauce was generous, and the thinly sliced cucumbers were a nice touch. I also appreciated the good portion of lettuce--nothing skimpy here! The menu is simple and straightforward, making ordering easy. This is a food truck with no seating, but it's perfect for grab-and-go. Service was friendly, and I only had to wait about 10 minutes. Oh and fries were great, nice and crispy.

Excellent burgers where the meat is locally sourced, the brioche bun is grilled to perfection and all the toppings are the ideal ratio. So glad we saw this little food truck and stopped by. Service was awesome too, quick and efficient!

I was planning a quick day trip to Fish Lake then to Capitol Reef. When I saw this food truck's Yelp page I knew we had to stop on the way through Torrey. I got the Pulled Pork Burger that was a wonderful combination of sweet n spicy. Sweet BBQ sauce and spicy from the Jalapeno's. Topped with smoked pulled pork and a very tasty burger all piled high on an amazing homemade brioche bun. My wife got the Mushroom Burger and her mom got the Mac n Cheese burger that they both recommended. Definitely worth the 3 hour drive down! read more

These burgers are delicious! After an intensive morning of hiking, these hit the spot! We've been eating burgers from all over the country as we travel and hike, and these burgers were among THE BEST! The ingredients are high quality and attention is given to detail, from a superbly freshly sliced red, juicy tomato to the yummy pickles they use. My mac n cheese burger was sinfully decadent with bacon, green chiles and mac n cheese. I swapped the mustard for bbq sauce and wow, it was amazing. Can't recommend this little food truck enough. We were blown away. Even the fries were spot on. The wait in line was well worth it. read more

After a day of hiking and adventure in Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, we stopped at Capitol Burger at the recommendation of a friend. WOW! We were not disappointed. The Mac n Cheese Burger was outrageously delicious and among the best hamburgers, I've ever had. The Brioche bun was fresh and fluffy, the beef was cooked perfectly, and the toppings were excellent. We also enjoyed their hand-cut french fries. The staff was friendly, and the service was quick. read more

They have beyond burgers!!! I got the beyond Mac and cheese burger (without bacon) and it was super tasty. The green chilis in the Mac and cheese were delicious and the brown mustard really made the overall flavor unique. Their brioche buns are what made it for me though. Would love to see you offer spiced fries, but the fries they had were good. Would definitely recommend read more

I was about to order a vegan portobello burger when the absolute hunk flipping patties in the back ripped off his shirt by flexing his biceps to reveal an armful of vegetal tattoos. he spoke slowly and carefully: "if you are not strictly vegetarian you gotta try our MEAT. it's free range." I looked up and down at the worker and knew I had to listen to this meat. And wow am I glad I did. Juicy, thick, AND well seasoned. Ladies, am I talking about the burgers or the people making them? Their cheeseburger was very indulgent and reminiscent of In-n-Out's salad type burger. It included a bounty of vegetables that were fresh & crisp with clearly homemade pickled cucumber. I loved this! The sauce was abundant, so much so, it spilled onto my hoodie. I wished the sauce they used was more complex, as it tasted like a simple mayo and ketchup concoction. The beef was juicy and flavorful which was encased by a pillowy bun. The fries were also reminiscent of In-n-Out. I wasn't a fan but I somehow thought they would be homemade and more complex since the menu is so simple. Take my critique with a grain of salt. I am not a french fry lover but have a soft spot for Belgian fries so I don't eat fries very often. My friend gobbled up the fries and enjoyed them very much as most people would. The folks are welcoming and friendly here and I will gladly come back for a visit when I need a cheeseburger in Torrey. I am thankful they are here. read more

I am not a burger fan, but with 7 people back at my cabin, hungry from a long hike, I decided to take a chance and buy 1 of every burger this food truck sells. WOW, these were delicious burgers! We cut each burger into smaller bite sized slices and had fun testing each flavor combination. My favorite was the pulled pork with the wonderful hits of jalapeño; I also loved the Sumo burger and the Mac & Cheese burger. I am sad that we are leaving early in the morning and I did not take the opportunity to visit with the owners and creators of these burgers! I will definitely look for them next time I'm in this area! read more

Pulled up at 8:44 and they still greeted us with a smile and good cheer. Had the mac and cheese burger- wow! What a burger indeed. 70/30 ratio makes it juicy and flavorful. You could really taste the meat. The bacon was thick and an actual piece of meat (not a sad dried shriveled piece of jerky that used to be bacon). The bun was the bun you dream about at your backyard bbq. Definitely go if you are in the area. read more

Unreal that there are burgers this good clear out in in the middle of nowhere. Capitol Burger is a food truck that is run by a young, award-winning chef who puts all the care and attention into his burgers that you are looking for. The options on the menu are diverse, and whether you like spicy, sweet, savory, or crazy....there is something there for everyone. The bun holds up in a firm, but still yielding way. It isn't difficult to eat, but holds the burger together perfectly. The meat is juicy, and you can tell by the first bite that it was fresh beef. Fabulous burgers. Choose from a selection of 6. That's it. Their focus is laser and the quality of the fresh meat they grind daily is marvelous. This place is the best food in the Torrey/Capitol Reef area. They know how to make the best burgers and the best fries! I ordered the pulled pork burger and my wife got the cheeseburger, plus a large fry. They were fast and the best burger I've had in a very long time. This gem was recommended from our Air BnB host (if it was open). We weren't sure it would be so we had another place in mind but sure enough it was. This little food truck was so good that we ended up eating here both nights during our stay in the area. 2 nights = 4 different burgers. Bacon cheeseburger (my favorite), pulled pork (his favorite), blue cheese mushroom and Mac and cheese. None of them disappointed. Fries and fry sauce were great and the service was very friendly! I will think about these burgers often even from 16 hours away, as it was the best I've had. read more

Sorry...think the 5 star reviews left me disappointed...? Excited to see a blue cheese burger. The burger had no char, bun wasn't grilled or warmed at all, blue cheese was dressing not blue cheese chunks. Overall, the burger was sloppy, mushy and fell apart. Flavor overall was good but there was no texture at all. Fine if my expectations were lower. Wish I hadn't read the reviews, I might have been "ok" otherwise...? read more

All I have to say is after trying this burger once, I want to try all of their burgers and care little trying out other restaurants here, I have tried a good rating Mexican restaurant here and that's more like a meh, but this burger is for real. Tried the mushroom, bacon cheese, pastrami, bbq. My fav are mushroom and bbq, they are all really really good. But will say if the pull pork, pastrami, the patty (meat overall) can be a little more juicy, that will be perfect . read more

The concierge at our hotel recommended this food truck and boy, was I glad she did! I ordered the mushroom burger and my husband ordered the Mac & cheese burger. We were not disappointed. The burgers were so juicy and very well seasoned. The brioche held up pretty well considering all the fixings that came with the burgers. A great food truck that doesn't pretend to be a thing else. After a recommendation from the local coffee place we decided to give them a try. Especially since they are locally owned. I have to say that this was the Best Cheeseburger that I have ever eaten. It was incredible. The fries were delicious and served with an awesome Fry Sauce. The owners were very nice and friendly. If your near Torrey Utah it is worth your while to go out of your way for their incredible food. read more

After days of mediocre meals in middle-of-nowhere Utah, Capitol Burger was an absolute oasis. Came here based on the good reviews, without even realizing that the owner Luke is a legitimate chef featuring experience at Michelin starred restaurants. It shows. I'm from NYC and there are so many good burgers everywhere that I have become an extremely tough critic. This was one of the top three burgers I've had ANYWHERE in my life. Top quality, hyper-local meat and a complexity of flavors with the toppings. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu (we went twice and ordered four different burgers, so we got a good sample). Just go to this place -- looks like they generally set up outside the Chuckwagon...it's such a small town you can't miss it anyway. Go go go go go! read more

There weren't many restaurants open at the time of night we went to go get dinner, so i called ahead to make sure they were open! They were not open, but they made us dinner anyways! The sweetest lady said she would stay open late just for us! That's some of the best customer service i have ever received! It made our night, and the burgers were AMAZING! The prices were fair considering the limited options in the area and the type of meat. The restaurant is connected to an inn and it is decorated in an old-timey western style, which I liked. Got into town just as the food truck (in front of Chuck Wagon Hotel, see other great review!) was closing and they stayed open just to cook a burger for my dad. I'm a vegetarian and they offered to make me an impossible burger but I wasn't in the mood after a long drive so they then offered to open the deli at the grocery store attached to the hotel just to make me a sandwich!! The burger my dad had was cooked perfectly (he is picky and prefers the burnt option) and huge!!! The fries were very fresh and yummy! When I return to town I will search them out, would recommend to a meat or non-meat eater. If only every place offered such great service! read more
