My husband and I stopped by while visiting Houston, and this was also our first time at a Capital One Café! We were pleasantly surprised how spacious it was. We ordered matcha and coffee, then relaxed at a common table, but they have desks, couches, and private rooms as well! After two weeks, I finally was lucky this Monday in that I was told their Matcha was back in stock! However, my unlucky-ness hit when I found out after waiting 20 minutes for my drink to be made that someone had taken my matcha. I've visited other Capital One Cafés before and generally enjoyed the experience, but this particular location could use some improvement--especially when it comes to service. When I approached the counter to place my order, the staff member didn't greet me or offer a friendly opening like "How can I help you?" or "What can I get started for you?" Instead, they just stared, waiting for me to speak. It felt awkward and a bit unwelcoming--basic customer service really goes a long way, even during slower hours. To be fair, someone did greet us when we entered the café, though I'm not sure if it was another staff member or the Capital One Ambassador. One consistent issue I've run into (not just at this location) is that they're frequently out of ingredients for the Honey Lavender Latte, which is frustrating. It's clearly a popular drink, so it's disappointing to find it unavailable--even when arriving early in the day. If it's regularly featured, it should be regularly stocked. That said, the space itself is great--plenty of seating, spacious tables, and private rooms make it ideal for studying or working. It's also relatively quiet, which I appreciate. Smaller than I anticipated but lots of seating if you want a place to lounge and hang with someone while you sip your drinks or to get work done. Only one or two "meeting" rooms so you have to be lucky to get one of those. Otherwise, there's lots of outlets elsewhere to plug in your devices. Also the food was rather good! The Capital One Café inside the Galleria is a surprisingly calm spot in the middle of all the mall chaos. The space is clean, modern, and has plenty of comfortable seating. It's a great place to recharge literally and figuratively since there are outlets everywhere and the Wi-Fi is solid. The only downside is that it can get a little busy during peak shopping hours, especially on weekends, so seating can fill up fast. But outside of rush times, it's one of the more peaceful places in the Galleria to sit, study, or get work done. There are many work spaces/nooks to choose from, some more open than others, and they have free WiFi. This casual cafe always has great drinks to enjoy and cool events including stuff like celebration of summer solstice. They have several seating areas with both booths and tables, good for a solo outing or a small group. I believe you can also book ahead and reserve a space for events in one of their meeting rooms if you're a non-profit, student, or alumni organization. The summer drinks are so refreshing! I've always been a fan of their matcha latte and cold brew, but the summer drinks are so refreshing. I tried the Creamsicle Spritz and the sweetened citrus creme with the sparkling water was thirst quenching. There's also the Citrus Creme Flash Brew and Valencia Shakerato on the special summer menu. There was a guy giving out coupons for a free drink from the cafe so I tried their matcha latte. I didn't know that it comes unsweetened unless you specify. A cozy little cafe on the second floor of the Galleria mall, it's located where the Microsoft store used to reside. It is very obviously owned by Capitol One and if you have a Capitol One card and pay with it, you get 50% off your order! That is a pretty good lure, haha... Love the atmosphere and it doesn't get the long lines like other coffee chains I won't mention by name here. I went on a Tuesday night on a whim while passing by and it was quiet with a few seated patrons. There are seats and tables throughout the space and was overall very welcoming and clean. The bank does do some business there but the cafe itself seemed to be the main thing. They do offer a few baked goods along with drinks - tea, coffee, juices/lemonades - of the simpler sort, though they do have seasonal flavors. They exclusively serve Peet's Coffee. I wanted to get the brown sugar matcha drink but their ice maker was having problems so I opted for the chai latte. I got a large, no ice and paid around $7... so not exactly cheap - if you have a Capitol One card, use it! Once I got the drink after a short period of waiting, I noticed they used a powder mix and it wasn't shaken very well. At all. Perhaps because there were no ice cubes to mix with? I could have mixed up some chai latte powder into milk at home as well. Needless to say, I think it's overpriced and mediocre in taste. HOWEVER, it is a nice "little" place and they do have clean restrooms - 2 separate, unisex rooms. I do hope to return and try the matcha I originally had my eye on. There was one lady who was doing it all herself, so kudos to her! But maybe get a blender bottle and shake it in that next time. I had the hardest time finding this place in the galleria I think because Google Maps doesn't know where it is - it suggests that it is near the Cheesecake Factory... I would recommend using the mall kiosk to get directions to navigate within the mall. In actuality it is like two doors down from the Apple Store. The cafe signage is pretty muted so it's easy to miss it walking by. The cafe is nice and quiet. Busy but not crowded. They had a promotion the day I went where if you filled out the survey, you get a free drink. There are helpful staff around the store to orient you and be a resource, but they aren't pushy to convert you into a customer. The baristas are very nice and your drinks come out within a few minutes. Plenty of seating, although most of the remaining seating were communal couches on Black Friday. There's also a restroom inside. Overall a great place to take refuge on a shopping spree. Excellent value on drinks if you get the 50% as a Capital One cardholder. read more

The coffee selection is not too extensive, but it has all of the basics and coming from a not a connoisseur, it tastes fine. I am really not sure what the workers who are not behind the coffee bar do. They stand around and greet people or talk amongst themselves. This is my 3 time visiting this place and I do like it , the coffee is great and half off to Capital one members. It's a cute place to do hw or business meetings. Today was my first time encountering a rude employee , which made me get up and leave. I had been sitting down for almost a hour or so , when I sit down I sit criss cross applesauce or with one leg under my other leg. I was in a meeting when one of the ladies ( I didn't get her name but she is a average size brown skin woman with a bob type hairstyle) came up to me and said I needed to put my legs down. The cafe space is exceptionally well designed and is a great choice for anyone looking to relax when at the mall, get some work done, or just chat with friends. The people here are very welcoming and are happy to answer any questions you have about the place and banking in general. However, if you enjoy coffee in any capacity, I would not recommend the coffee based drinks here at all. We got an iced mocha that tasted nothing like mocha. It tasted really burnt, and we would not have even known it was a mocha if you didn't tell us. I also got an iced brown sugar oat milk cold brew with jelly, and even the cold brew tastes burnt and harsh (which is quite hard to do with cold brew). The syrups may cover up the taste, but I still would not pay full price for this. In summary, the coffee here is actually more burnt than Starbucks...so would not drink off the coffee menu anymore. The vibe is clean and modern, with an acceptable amount of wall outlets. The people are great, and that's mainly why I still give it 4 stars. read more
