The Fresh Market is a lot less crowded than Wegmans on a Saturday and I love that there are no self checkout registers!

The mission was simple: get one thing. I even grabbed the small carry cart to prove I was serious. That was mistake number one. The moment we walked in, Mom stopped at the very first display like she had been hired to inspect it. That's when I realized she set me up. I picked the wrong cart, and she knew it. The store itself was impressive -- bright, clean, and packed with every food item known to mankind. Honestly, it was a little too packed. Every aisle felt like it was competing for "Most Stuff in One Space." But everything looked fresh: Meat Seafood Produce All looked like they were posing for a magazine. The Bakery: The Trap We Walked Into The bakery was the star of the store -- managed by a Black woman who was professional, friendly, and on point. She stopped what she was doing to check on us, and that's when the trouble began. The bakery was loaded with: Cakes Cupcakes Cookies Desserts that looked illegal And they were running a sale. A dangerous, wallet‑threatening sale. Mom and I stood there for what felt like hours, mouths watering, debating desserts like we were choosing stocks. We bought way too many. I blame the sale. And the frosting. And the smell. And the display. Basically everything. The Full Store Tour (Thanks to Mom) Mom and her walker inspected every single section of the store. Every. Single. One.I'm convinced she saw things the employees didn't know existed. By the time we reached checkout, my carry cart was overflowing like I had robbed the place. Another Black woman walked us to her register -- also professional, also engaging, also packing our bags like she was building a sculpture. She explained the discounts we received, which made the total hurt a little less. We walked out with two full bags, my hands full, and my "one item" dream shattered. Final Verdict The Fresh Market delivered: Great products Great staff Great bakery Great discounts And a great reminder that I should never trust myself with a small cart We'll definitely be returning...but next time, Mom might have to stay in the car

Takes place every Saturday between 8:00 AM until 12:00 PM and the food trucks are there from 8:00 AM until 2:00 PM.

Located at the Crofton Library parking lot, parking for the Market is onsite - front and back parking lot options, street parking and the church across the street provides parking. Open at 8am - noon and food trucks until 2pm on Saturday's, I saw any and everything you could imagine. Farm fresh produce, pies, goats milk soap, freshly pressed juices, speciality cookies and cupcakes, and EMPANADAS! We were like kids in a candy store, so clearly everything I just listed, we purchased. All of the vendors we encountered were very friendly and helpful. The Farmers Market opens in May and closes for the season in November. My top 3 vendors, Sugar Butter Love, DMV Empanadas, and the Goats Milk Soap vendor - sorry can't remember their name. All had quality options to purchase. The Market has a website to check out the vendors that will be on display, as well as social media pages. I was impressed and will absolutely be back! Note to the wise, bring a reusable bag or two to collect your purchased items. I even brought an insulated bag for my hot/cold items.

They have a check cashing booth to the rear left of the store, not far from their meat section, where they have a bunch of different cuts on display. I found many items that my family uses regularly, and it's awesome to now have something in the area, in stead of having to run out to Laurel or New Carrolton to make special purchases. I really hope that people take the time to check this place out. This staff is friendly, and helpful. This market was much needed in this area. They do have a fresh foods counter in the back, and they also offer fresh and frozen produce up front.
