This is the best local grocery store near the Shady Side and the Churchton MD area. I have never had a complaint with this store and the people that work there are very helpful and friendly. They have good produce and sell some Organic produce now. They also carry produce from local farms when certain produce is in season. A fine local store...with an exceptional Meat Department...with a real Butcher! Not normally price competitive, but sale items help.

Friendly, knowledgeable people, clean store, well- stocked shelves, and prices competitive with, (and sometimes better than) the big chains. Plus they have a great meat department. Only ten minutes away compared to thirty minutes for a "big " store in a city with "big traffic " to go with it. read more

Completely overpriced and the worst produce department ever. Who charges $4. for a head of old garlic? They do! I couldn't find an item on sale, which is the only way anyone can afford to shop there, and went to "Customer Service" for assistance. I was told that they "had no idea" where the item was, as they passed me to go outside to smoke a cigarette. Which is another bonus of shopping there, you get to wade thru the smoking employees who stand adjacent to the entrance. Whatever you do, don't buy the fresh basil. It will be dead in less than 12 hours. I took it back with my receipt the next morning and the surly "customer service" person asked me who I thought I was trying to return my dead basil and told me I'd have to "deal with" the produce manager. Clearly, they don't know what Customer Service means. The employees are extremely rude and stand around in the front of the store, cussing and trashing the management. They are also too busy texting to do their jobs as cashiers and don't even look up when customers approach. The store barely keeps food in stock. The only reason I will go is if I am desperate for something needed at the last minute. Stay away! read more

I was excited to have a grocery store right in my neighbor. Staff has always been great, no problem with the employees but come on RIDICULOUSLY HIGH PRICES ! I can't afford to go there, half the time their selves are empty, and there are so many items they just don't carry. The only option is driving 25 minutes to much cheaper prices. Which is what Christophers' owners are hoping that customers won't do. Lighten up! read more

Aaah Where do I begin with this place? Let me see... Customer service is non existent and the people who work here are ill mannered, reckless and very, very bitter. The prices are quite high. They have a weird assortment of junk food and hardly anything worth the price for fresh and healthy foods. My wife handed me a list designed to stump me and Christopher's. Chrisopher's was not to be stumped. Chia seeds, no problem. I found several of the items and then enlisted a handful of staffers to find the others. They enthusiastically located the fresh mint, rice vinegar, firm tofu, etc. And the chia seeds were only 85 cents. read more

Went to buy some crab cakes that were marketed as $4.99 for a 3oz package and they would not honor that. They kept yelling at us, it's per crab cake not by package, but they didn't have any individually packaged it's all 2 or more. My mother went this morning and bought 2 packages of these crab cakes and only paid $4.99 per package after talking with a person in the hot food department. Each package said it was a 3oz package. If you are selling items and it is noted on signs and in the paper that it's $4.99 per 3oz package you should honor it. There was no indication of weight on the price label of the package, except on top where it said it was "Premium Lump Crab Cakes 3oz" in the name. Ended up not buying anything because of the extremely rude managers especially because of the higher up manger came out fighting and yelling. There seems to be no communication between departments, staff and managers regarding sale items. read more

Seems fine for what it is. Close to deale/SS if you live there. I was only passing through and needed a couple small items.

over priced, under stocked, not friendly at all. Only shop here because nothing closer. I don't recommend it.
