I had new soles put on a pair of Birkenstock, as well as new soles on a pair of Denver Hayes boots. Both jobs were well done, reasonably priced and completed in a reasonable length of time. The person I dealt with was very friendly and helpful. read more

Brought a beautiful pair of Badgley Mischka high heeled evening shoes for a simple repair...add lift at bottom of heel. The shoes were otherwise in pristine condition. When I picked them up today, one heel was so mangled and damaged, that the shoes are now completely unusable and unrepairable. I was absolutely shocked! I demanded my money back. The owner/repair person maintained that this damage on the heel was there when I brought the shoes in. That was an outright lie. I had to argue with him to get my money back. He did refund me $20.00. The shoes were purchased new for $500.00. His shop is a disorganized mess and very dirty. I should have known better. He doesn't even deserve a 1 star. I will never be returning. read more

Capilano Cobbler - Badgley Mischka Evening Shoes - Shoe Repair Near Me - North Vancouver, British Columbia

I took my brand new all leather loafers just purchased in Buenos Aires to have rubber heels put on to reduce the chance of slipping. For this job, he charged $30! The size of the heels are just 2" x 2". Rip-off! He tried to up-sell me into replacing THE LEATHER SOLES with rubber. I absolutely said 'no', as that is what was so special about these ALL LEATHER SHOES. Imagine my shock when I went to pick them up and he had gone ahead, against my instructions, and covered the leather soles with rubber! He told me to pay another $10. per shoe for this error. When I told him I had not wanted this, had not authorized it, and would NOT pay for it, he tossed the shoes on the counter and told me to never return. Question: Why would I ever return to such an unprofessional 'business'? Read the other review about this place -- it is a joke... read more

My elderly mother used this guy's shoe repair services a few times a year for the last handful of years and up until recently everything was ok. Then, a couple months ago she had him put new rubber soles on her shoes and within a relatively short time the soles started to separate from the shoes so she brought the shoes back to him to explain the problem but he quickly became angry and raised his voice with a couple of loud "Hello!" outbursts. His English is almost non-existent but he basically said "not my work" I guess implying that someone else put the rubber soles on the shoes. After a couple of minutes of this we told him that he lost a good customer and left. read more

do not "ever" go this cobbler. the owner is rude and mean. only has $$$$$ sign in his vision. has no customer service skills. being on a wheel chair, i expected the owner to be aware of my status...his prices are exuberant. even after agreeing with him for the repair cost, when i asked him for a receipt to facilitate p/u the next day, he screeched at me and said, "i am busy. i do not have time. go away" unquote. i was shocked at his attitude, and left. further more, i noticed two "new" customers behind me, also left his shop because he displayed his worst self to his "new potential customers" xanadu read more

The owner is friendly and has a good sense of humour. He does good work and I find his prices are fair.

I would give him a minus 2 if the option were available. In the category of "what was he thinking!" I have a horror story for you. We had good experience there before so I thought it safe to take my wife's beige hiking boots, some kind of "fluff" leather, suede I think. The boots required a good cleaning, I said they were hiking boots. I should have suspected something was up when he asked to be paid up front. Imagine that, a shoe repair place that wants to be paid before the work is complete. I came back a couple of days later, as requested and he showed me the shoes. One was now a dark brown color and polished smooth! WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did I ask you to change the color of the shoe?! I am 64 and in all of the years that I have been faithfully using shoe repair shops I have never been so disappointed He asked my if it was ok. Er, um, shit! Does it now matter what I think. The shoe is dark brown and polished smooth. Can you put it back?! My wife is going to be livid! Ammmm... sure, go ahead and ruin the other one as well. They might as well match! My wife was not happy and has not worn the shoes since. What a bone head thing to do! read more

The best cobbler I've found. The owner is pleasant and fair. He is quick and thorough, gives repair options with prices and provides advice on his reasonably priced products. Just make sure you keep your tag for pick up. I have used him for shoe and purse repairs and always been very happy with the work and service. read more

This store had the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! The Asian man does not understand instructions, even from his own staff, then gets mad at you!!! I have had to go back 3 times for the same pair of boots, when I had to call a second time because he did not return some straps that had been removed, and this was in the original instructions given to him and his staff, and confirmed with his staff, that that is what they told him, he said he could only find one, so I should call him back, I said I thought he should call me back, and he HUNG UP ON ME, HOW RUDE!!! If you wasn't to be treated VERY BADLY, then definitely go here! read more

I've taken in two pairs of boots(separate occasions)into this guy to get the heel repaired and they both came back looking good as new. Not only that, he also polished them and cleaned them up. One of the boots was only about 15 bucks to get repaired, the other was 30(i had completely DESTROYED the heel - money WELL spent). I also plan on taking my handbag into him to get the zipper repaired. I got an estimate from a place downtown for $80(!!!!) and i asked him here as i was picking up my boots if he did purses as well and he gave me a estimate of $50. Not cheap, but considering it's a luxury designer purse and again money will be well worth it. I've never been in a hurry to get my stuff back but he always asks if you need it by certian time though. Generally i would say it takes about 3 days(unrushed) give or take a day depending on how busy it is. I give him 5 stars because he brought my two favourite boots back from the dead looking better than new. read more

Had a few repairs done here for the posts on high heels. They do an OK job, but there is a better one located at Park Royal for the same price and much better results.. But these guys get the job done and will do if you can't make it to the other mall. read more

Worst shoe repair store in the Lower Mainland, my girlfriend took in two pairs of boots to get the heels fixed. One came back glued practcally hanging off one side of the sole and the other had glue all over the wooden heel. They both look disgusting and were expensive to begin with. I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED THAT THIS KIND OF SLOPPY WORK IS ACCEPTABLE TO ANY BUSINESS. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE. IT IS CHEAP BECAUSE THEY DO SHODDY WORK. read more

Will never ever do business with him. Poor job, bad attitude and extremely rude. I prefer to pay twice the price for a better service. There is a reason he wants to get paid prior doing his job. If we could give negative stars I would give him negative kazillion stars. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOU BUSINESS to this rude, insulting, CROOKED guy. I wish I could give no stars. Now I understands why he charges upfront. I took my favourite shoes in for repair, asked him in advance if he could do a complete renew (for $83!!!) and only when she said yes, I gave him the boots to repair. When I pick up the boots, they were not as I had asked, and his solution was to slap on some shoe glue and shoo me away. After a couple of times of wearing the shoes, the "repair" completely fell apart. When I went back to show him, he offered to put more goo on it. I told him it didn't work last time. He tried to argue that it's not his problem, called me "strange" and shooed me away again. That's the last time to pay $83 for a lame effort. I intend to get my money back. DO NOT GIVE THIS CROOK YOUR BUSINESS. read more

Worst service ever. I brought back something that he had repaired before and then he blatantly denied ever repairing it. I tried to assure him he had and I wasn't upset I just needed it fixed again. He then said I can't help u and turned his back and refused to speak to me further. I stood there almost laughing and how ridiculous the situation was. read more

This guy did a TERRIBLE JOB of fixing my running shoe, then completely DESTROYED the heel, turning my slightly worn shoe into GARBAGE. It seems that he can fix some shoes, but those that he can't he blames on the customer. I took a pair of Asics in because the foam in heel was starting to show slightly. I wanted to fix it before it gets too bad, and he assured me he will. He glued leather pieces on the heel, but they were very stiff and chafed against my heel. I broke out in blisters the size of a quarter on each foot after by first brief walk. He told me that my foot is the problem. However, HE ALTERED THE COMFORT AND FEEL of my shoe!!! I told him that it's a running shoe, not a dress shoe. He replied with, "so?", like it's not his problem. He told me he will try just one more time. When I came back, HE RIPPED THE LEATHER BITS OFF MY SHOE, thus pretty much DESTROYING the heel, making the shoe WORSE than how I brought it in, and did not glue anything back!!!. The foam in the heel was shredded to bits, as though chewed by a dog, and there were rock hard glue bits stuck to whatever was left of the heel. The guy's attitude is completely unacceptable too: without any conversation, he left my DESTROYED shoes on the counter, with a refund of my money, then started talking to another customer, completely ignoring me. I suggest that you take your business elsewhere, unless you like being treated like garbage, and want to have your shoes destroyed. read more

I brought in 2 pairs of boots that were in pretty bad condition and I was in a rush to get them done. The man who works their did both pairs of boots in one day (they were ready for pickup the next day) and charged $37 for them. My boots were in a very good condition when I picked them up. read more

I went in to have my purse strap sewn back on, he said $15, I thought that was a lot but he was the closest. I went to collect the purse and noticed the strap that had been sewn was now ruined, there was a huge mark in the strap, it looked like it had been rubbed raw! So I confronted the owner (the Asian guy) and he completely freaked out on me, telling me it wasn't his fault so I asked him if a mouse did it? He didn't take the humour very well. So I told him I wasn't going to pay for him ruining my purse. He proceeded to throw my purse on the ground and stomp on it. I left without the purse and with a very bad taste in my mouth. The purse was ruined so I would never have used it again but I was very angry! read more

I have been going to this shop for 5 years...then the other day I brought in a pair of shoes I had him put non skid things on the bottom of - well after like 2 wearings the skid came off - so I brought them in thinking he will just glue it back on - but no, he wanted to charge me 12 dollars. I will now take all my shoes to the place at Park Royal - super professional they expedite your request when needed, the shop is clean etc. I showed the Cap place loyalty because he had done many things for us over the years - but now, with the attitude he gave me the other day - done! read more
