Impressive professional workmanship topped with friendly warm appreciative service…read more The heel edge soles on my year-old Salomon runners were almost worn through, but the shoe body was still in excellent condition. I first approached a shoe repair on Davie, and within mere moments they adamantly said, 'Can't be resoled'. I am not one to give up, so I came to Yelp and the customer service comments about Denman Shoe Repair encouraged me to keep walking down Davie and along Denman. Talk about a breath of positive attitude at Denman Shoe Repair. The Asian woman cheerfully consulted with her colleague / owner (?) and he responded optimistically that he could easily re-sole the pair. Talk about an excellent re-soling job! Picked up the runners today and he did a fabulous job! Deep tread, accurate cut and clean re-gluing. Some may consider the price pricey ($80) but I would have paid more for a brand new pair without the guarantee that they would fit as well and last as long and make my feet so happy to be walking!! Thank you very much Denman Shoe Repair. You are a true gracious gentleman, and perform a valuable service of quality workmanship. I appreciate your hard work and wish you the best.

I always feel weird calling a person who fixes shoes a "cobbler". It sounds so archaic. And yet,…read morehere I am, preparing to tell you all about my favourite "cobbler". Nope. Still doesn't sound right... Ok. So Jericho Shoe Repair is by far my favourite shoe repair shop in the Kits/Point Grey area. Friendly service, great pricing, and if you tell then you need your favourite shoes back ASAP, they'll do what they can to fix them within a day or two (they tend to get pretty busy there). Bonus: They also cut keys there... PROPERLY!!! I highly recommend this place. Cobbler. Nope. Still not liking it.

No problem, $8 and an afternoon at the cobbler always fixes them up perfectly. I took a pair of shoes to have re-stoppered (?) to Jericho Shoe Repair last year. The elderly gentleman did a quick repair and I was soon click-clacking my way around the office. Ten days passes and I start to hear that quiet tap of metal on tile that accompanies a worn-through stopper. I inspect the shoe to see the rubber has completely worn through. In 10 days. Having repaired a dozen pairs of shoes in this way over the years, I've never had a shoe fail on me so quickly. The runner-up clocks in at about three months. Something was obviously amiss so I returned with my shoes to Jericho Shoe Repair and explained that the shoes had barely been fixed before the right one had worn through again. Having seen an "if you're unhappy tell us" sign on the door, I was looking forward to a quick resolution. Instead, the cobbler presented me with a LAMINATED article about how terrible it is to walk in heels and then lectured me about how much weight was impacting on the heel when I walked. Firstly, I expected some kind of resolution. Instead I got a spiel on the thousand pounds of pressure I was inflicting on that heel. I left unhappy. Let this be a warning to others lest you too want to be served with the laminated, anti-heels article.

They were in rough shape( my own fault, should have brought them in sooner) Hugo was extremely excited when he saw my Italian made, dark brown , leather shoes. The heels were very worn out and beginning to almost crumble . The outer leather was beginning to separate from the sole on one shoe. Hugo said he would order in a leather patch for this part of the project. I brought the shoes in on June 19,2023 - they were ready yesterday, June 29. Total cost with tax $68.25. The shoes have been fully restored to their original condition. Hugo can seem a little rough in his manner ( he's not 21 years old!) but he sure appreciates the chance to work on quality shoes .
