I was referred to Dr. Capelo because my son had one leg longer than the other at one year of age. The initial consultation took over three hours, which, I get it, is somewhat normal for the first visit to a specialist. However, waiting in a tiny little room with no toys, no books, no TV for that period of time was, to say the least, very frustrating. I mentioned to the nurse as we were leaving that it would be great if they could get some things that were a little more kid friendly in their rooms. She agreed and said they were working on it. Six months later we go back. Again no toys, no books, no TV in a tiny little room. After waiting almost an hour without seeing anyone for what was supposed to be just a recheck, my little one had had enough and as I was packing up to go all of the sudden everyone was available to see him. They apologized for the wait and again said they were working on making it more kid friendly. So for the next appointment I asked for the very first appointment of the day so that I could hopefully avoid a long wait again. When they called to confirm they verified that my son's was the first appointment of the day. They neglected to mention that their office had moved several miles away. I only found out when I looked at their website to verify the address. And once again after an hour of waiting to see the doctor in another tiny little room (for the last time) We packed up to leave and sure enough everyone was suddenly available to see him. Call me crazy, but any person who works with children should know that you cannot ask small children to wait for that long. As someone who has been in the healthcare field for more than 10 years you cannot treat people this way and expect to keep them as patients. When I called to discuss this with the "office manager" I was told that this was normal behavior for a specialist and to just deal with it. Well actually, no I don't have to put up with this! I hope this helps someone else avoid this doctor and this practice because they obviously do not care about the children they see. read more
