For people who respond to the number of stars, I think this office is stellar when it comes to local knowledge and vacation rentals. Personally, I try to read all reviews to get a more balanced perspective. Just as one waiter's error shouldn't kill a great restaurant, one broker's error shouldn't taint an entire office of hard-working people--especially in these trying times. Nature: the beach, flowers, breeze, and bunnies. The "Resort" Reality: * Parking: $25/night--no spots when we arrived (on a Monday night). * Room: Looked like the photos, slept well. * Coffee: 1 used pod, 1 hazelnut. * Breakfast: Buffet nearly empty at 9:30 AM. Ordered à la carte--raw eggs, missing toast, slow service. * Atmosphere: Chaotic. Screaming kids, crying babies, coughing, spilled food, no peace. * Beach: Towels require 1 card each--only given 2. No beachside service. * Food/Drinks: Few options, overpriced. $17 for a plain burger, $15 for weak mixed drinks. * Pool: Packed with kids. Cabanas are rentals--no casual use. * WiFi: Gone by Day 2. That was the last straw. We left early. Some staff were nice, but overall service was inconsistent. This place leans on location and nostalgia, but the experience doesn't justify the price. Maybe worth $250/night--maybe.

It's a nice change from the cookie cutter hotels and resorts. The property is in a great location and is within walking distance to multiple restaurants (try the Pancake Man for breakfast). Many beaches are also just a short drive away. I was renting a co-op sort of house where we all get two weeks in the summer and are responsible for arranging our own cleaning before we leave. The people who rent the weeks before us are both cheap ... and slobs. They 'semi' clean the house themselves to save money vs. hiring someone and do a poor job. So, we never trust them to clean well. This year, more than ever, we wanted a top to bottom cleaning of the house to ensure all was good from a pandemic perspective given the slobs that rent the weeks before us, so I did a little research and called Cape Cod Cleaning Collaborative because they seemed to have the most trustworthy reviews. I spoke to the owner who returned my message promptly and asked me several questions about my needs. She mentioned that unfortunately, she isn't taking new clients this season due to a reduced work force and also, they can't clean houses as a one-off. They will do a 'deep clean' of a house at the beginning of the season and then come in for 'touch ups' but don't really do the whole 'I have the house for this week and would like it cleaned when I arrive' type of thing. If you rent a house, the home owner would likely have to have this deep clean done at the beginning of the season and then schedule subsequent cleanings for when guests leave. This wasn't our situation. I see that some reviews get a little pissy about this protocol but I have to respect it because it means they do a great job, are thorough, and don't go through the motions. If I owned a house on Cape Cod, I'd certainly use no other company but this one to clean it based on this interaction. However, the owner was great about passing on the name of the company she uses to sanitize and clean carpets in the homes she deep-cleans when she heard of my concerns about covid. She sent an email to that company's owner referring me to his business and he ended up coming in and doing a fantastic job of sanitizing the house and carpets for a great price. She didn't have to make that referral for me and did not benefit from it financially ... she was just trying to be helpful. Another reason why I would choose this business over any other business on Cape Cod, if I owned a house. Based on our initial conversation, it seems like the business owner really takes into account the needs of the customer and doesn't cut corners. I passed her name along to the person who owns the house we all split weeks at during the summer and I can only hope he will call her to arrange for cleaning going forward vs. everyone doing their own thing. Like I said, even when things didn't work out in terms of doing business together, the owner went out of her way for us and we were grateful for that. If I do end up buying a house on Cape Cod one day, this is the only company I'd call to set up cleaning.

And - at the same time - they increased prices by over 30%. They have also become unreliable - the most recent cancellation was last week when they cancelled less than two hours before they were supposed to arrive. Switching to a company that cleans several of our neighbors houses - come highly recommended - and cost less!

The size and layout was great. The upkeep and maintenance and ultimately the cleanliness, left much to be desired. We had to spend some of our own time killing bugs when we arrived in the room. The cottage is old! The cottage needs renovations desperately and when it happens, I am sure it will be lovely but for now I would avoid cottage 7. I emailed pictures of the filth and the bugs to the cottages and they returned with a call where they said they would send the cleaning crew back. They did and all they did was clean the floor. This cottage needs a deep clean and to be renovated to be lovely once again. However, the water view, the peaceful and serene setting is magic! The sand was very seaweed filled which was not the case last year. It only took away from the beauty a bit. The green setting with bbqs and picnic tables is quaint. Reminder that there's no ac unless you stay in the motel area. The location is wonderful!
