It was clean, spacious, stocked with everything (and more!) than we expected, and decorated with an adorable rooster meets beach theme. Everything from booking to picking up and sadly dropping off the keys was a breeze. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone thinking of vacationing in Orleans.

My biggest concern with Ocean Club on Smugglers Beach is guest safety…read more During my stay, I observed multiple children lose their balance and fall near the main pool railing. In my opinion, the railing does not appear to be safe, and I believe it should be inspected to ensure it meets all applicable safety requirements. I brought my concerns to several staff members, including the maintenance manager. Unfortunately, I felt my concerns were not taken seriously, and I found the response to be dismissive and disrespectful. When a potential safety issue involving children is reported, I expect it to receive immediate attention. Aside from this issue, the resort itself was okay. However, guest safety should always be the top priority. I hope management addresses this concern promptly so future guests can enjoy their stay without worrying about the safety of the pool area.

This is the best hotel I've ever stayed at in my life…read more It's a hotel that I have never worried about cleanliness in my over 15 years of staying here. The room is a nice size and has tons of amenities. They have an indoor pool that is incredible. It's the perfect temperature, and is clean as clean could be. They also have small hot tub which is very nice and warm. They have small saunas, a gym and a whole recreational center with full sized Tennis Courts, rooms for games such as Handball and even a small arcade. They have an outside bar which has live bands/singers playing all night with a crowd of people dancing having fun! This hotel is an absolute must stay and is worth the money in every way.

We needed a blow-up bed, which the staff cared for without issue. Setting it up took up some space, but thankfully, it is nothing to complain about. The bed we stayed in was comfy. The important thing was that the room was well-cleaned and organized, which we were thrilled about. The facility provides a lot of that, including an indoor restaurant called the Loft Restaurant and Bar and an outdoor one called the Loft Shack in the middle of the parking lot. They even host events, such as outdoor concerts. The website provides more info on that. There is even an indoor building that offers sports such as tennis and basketball and even an arcade room. The Cove provides an indoor and outdoor swimming pool. Overall, we were very impressed with the Cove, with many memories to take in and cherish. Without a doubt, I would stay here again.

It is a terrific house. Both Betsy and I had long associations with Chatham many years ago, before we were married. This review has nothing to do with the quality of a property rented through NEVR, and everything to…read moredo with management of the property, which is entitled and unprofessional. I booked "Bay Dream" in Eastham, MA Pre-Covid with a check in time of 3pm and check out time of 10am. I did not purchase cancellation insurance as I fully intended to use the property. The $9000 fee for the 1-week rental was split into 2 payments, $4500 paid upfront and $4500 to be paid 60 days in advance of the stay. In early June I received an email that the second payment was due. As the pandemic had intensified, my wife called New England Vacation Rentals ("NEVR"), who manages the property, to see what their Covid cancellation policies were. As all reputable rental companies recognized, this was an unusual time, and most were working with their clients to cancel properties due to the pandemic. NEVR's offices were closed, and a message on the service directed us to send an email to them, which we did. By this time Massachusetts policies were that guests had to self-quarantine for 14 days, which was not possible in a 7-night stay. After 3 days we still hadn't heard from NEVR, so we emailed again. We got a reply, stating that the self-quarantine rules were "not enforceable" and that our only option to cancel was to forfeit our $4500 deposit. As this was not an option for us, we pressed on and paid the remaining $4500. Guidance around travel to Massachusetts and this property continued to change. The check-in time was changed from 3pm to 4pm, presumably to give the cleaning crew an extra hour to clean. The check out time was also moved up from 10am to 9am for the same reasons. Massachusetts also required a Covid test for people traveling from certain states, so we had to get tested the day before we traveled. All this is fine, and understandable under the circumstances we're all in. What transpired next is not. We arrived at the property at 3:40pm to find the house cleaned and vacant. As no one was there, any reasonable renter would assume it would be permissible to enter. 5 minutes later, the owner of the property knocked on the door, identifying herself and claiming "you're early." This was strange, but I briefly chatted with the owner and then moved on to unpacking and stocking up for the week. At check-out, we were asked to email NEVR when we had vacated the house. I did this at exactly 9am, again to accommodate for extra cleaning. Following NEVR's check out guidelines, we removed all food, trash, bagged the linens, set out the trash cans for pickup -- everything per their guidelines. We packed up the car with all luggage, locked the doors and went for one last walk at low tide, to celebrate the week. When we returned from the walk the owner was there, again, to state that check out was at 9am. We told her we were out. The cleaners weren't there, just the owner. 2 hours later, an email from NEVR was forwarded to me from the owner, who stated they did not want to rent to me again. "The house was left a mess, heavily used, they checked in early, checked out late. No need to take issue with them. Just don't want them as guests again." NEVR replied to the owner " No worries...we put him on the DO NOT RENT list" with a little smiley emoji at the end. Why they would send this to me is inexplicably unprofessional. When I questioned this, they hid behind the owner's wishes, stating that it was the owner's wishes, and not recognizing the callousness of forwarding the email, which caused my wife and I unnecessary stress and anxiety. While the check-in/out times were changed, without compensation to me, I acquiesced, only to receive blowback from both the owner and NEVR. They didn't use the extra time to do additional cleaning, they just wanted us out earlier. As for leaving the house 'a mess,' this is nonsense. We not only followed their guidelines, we exceeded them. As an owner of vacation rental properties in California, I am acutely aware of what a mess a tenant can leave. I have 25 years of messes. We did not leave a mess. Perhaps this owner shouldn't be renting their property at all. She seems to have issues letting go. What's worse is that throughout discussions with NEVR, they offered no apology. It is clear that NEVR views the relationship with their homeowners as the "customer," while renters are the "product." This is exactly the opposite of what it should be. No renter wants to deal with an owner at all. We have been renting properties on the cape for almost 30 years. This was our 12th trip. We have stayed in many houses, and used many management companies. Until this trip, we have had zero issues. None. The sad part about this is it has nothing to do with the property. It's a beautiful place. This is all about the interaction with the owner and NEVR. How unfortunate.

The house was clean, updated, had air conditioning, comfy beds, linens/bath towels provided, laundry on site, fenced backyard, and an outdoor dog kennel for those who need it. TV and wifi were easy to use. Easy to get to Wellfleet beaches and major ponds via backroads. They even offer grocery delivery if booked in advance! Will definitely stay here when we return on the future!

I committed…read moreto a Del Mar Vacation over this past summer based on what appeared to be a wonderful property that my family could enjoy. There was some compelling advertising involved that raised our expectations for a wonderful week on Cape Cod. Unfortunately it ended up being nothing like we imagined from the beautiful pictures and well-written ads. This was a week vacation in Yarmouth Port, MA July 18-25. I committed to this based on advertising by Del Mar Vacations referring to a renovated home, a hidden gem, and a 5-star experience. Instead, it turned out to be an expensive nightmare for my family who had arrived from 3 different states based on these inflated descriptions. There were appalling conditions both outside and inside the property. The outside was a mess, and the inside included stained carpets and chairs, ripped screens, one of the apartments emanated strong musty odors, apparent mold and parts of the ceiling noticeably cracked, live insects were found hanging on flypaper in both the kitchen and dining room areas (which was disgusting), and the electrical lights downstairs kept flickering on and off whenever we engaged the A/C. These conditions were evident the moment we walked in, and we called to let Del Mar Vacations know how shocked and disappointed we were. Check-in time was late in the day and Del Mar refused to find us an alternative location. Consequently, we were forced to endure 1 night there. These conditions were eventually acknowledged by both a Del Mar manager and the Director of Hospitality Operations, but despite the fact that we felt strongly and relayed that these conditions were unacceptable, we were left to find another location in the middle of July entirely on our own, and Del Mar eventually insisted on keeping 70% of our fees. I was so disturbed by this treatment that I wrote the CEO of Del Mar, but he never even bothered to get back to me or even acknowledge my letter, and left it to one of his reports to give me the bad news that nothing further would be done. At one point, another manager suggested that Del Mar would refund an additional 20% if I removed my negative review, which seemed in appropriate and unethical to me. On this basis, I cannot recommend Del Mar Vacations to anyone, and I would suggest that whoever is considering a property do a thorough search of the property reviews first, and if possible, view the property before you commit to it. And check to see if all the reviews are there in the first place. I just looked again at the ad for the home I rented, and I'm very curious why that property indicates there were 79 reviews in total, but I find only 50 are available online, all of which are 4- or 5-star reviews. Apparently my review is one of those not included. Buyer Beware. Del Mar's advertising can be misleading and if you have big problems like we had, don't count on getting your money back!
