The room is a nice size and has tons of amenities. They have an indoor pool that is incredible. It's the perfect temperature, and is clean as clean could be. They have small saunas, a gym and a whole recreational center with full sized Tennis Courts, rooms for games such as Handball and even a small arcade. The facility provides a lot of that, including an indoor restaurant called the Loft Restaurant and Bar and an outdoor one called the Loft Shack in the middle of the parking lot. They have a nice roof deck area with chairs to sit and enjoy the sun or stars or view of the water. This place could be an absolute gem. The grounds need some definite care and leave soo much to be desired. If the little entrance office area was de-cluttered and landscaping was paid attention to could be 5-star for an Inn type place. Based on cost, location and room being clean would definitely stay again for 1-2night stay but beyond that the grounds for middle of summer and location could be so much more and sort of a shame. At check-in we were told both resorts had restaurants and beach bars, which made it sound like there would be plenty of options. In reality, it was difficult to know what would be open or serving food at any given time. We couldn't find consistent hours on the website or in our check-in materials, and even employees often seemed unsure. The Riviera café was essentially grab-and-go. We used it for breakfast, but typically only one or two menu items were actually available and they were premade and reheated. The coffee options were good, though. We tried going there for lunch after discovering Jonah's was closed and found premade salads and leftover breakfast sandwiches. The employees actually directed us to Jonah's and seemed surprised when we told them it was closed. The beach bar was the most consistent food option, but choices were limited and mostly fried/heavy. At Jonah's, we waited more than an hour for four salads one evening and about 45 minutes for two salads and a pizza another. Places were frequently out of menu items or ingredients, and the beach bar was even completely out of silverware at one point. Unfortunately, the property also felt very worn. Our bathtub was rusty and had peeling paint, the bathroom door barely closed, our TV had a black line running through the screen, and our balcony railing felt loose enough to make us uncomfortable. Carpeting throughout the property looked worn and dirty. An ice machine was broken for our entire stay, the beach foot sprayer was broken, and many interior doors were warped from humidity. The heated pools were still quite cold, while the hot tub was almost unbearably hot. Housekeeping was another issue. Our room wasn't serviced until day three, after I contacted the front desk and asked for service. When they agreed to provide full service, we left the room so they could work. When we returned, the beds had simply been made with the existing sheets rather than having the sheets changed. Staff presence was inconsistent as well. People generally weren't particularly friendly or welcoming and often seemed unaware of what was happening elsewhere at the resort. Beach attendant coverage was unpredictable enough that at one point I grabbed the sand drill myself and installed our umbrella. There were positives. Our room had lots of convenient places to charge devices, which was surprisingly nice. More importantly, the private beach is gorgeous. It's easily accessible and the ocean views are fantastic. We paid for an ocean-view room, and I'm very glad we did because sitting outside and enjoying that view genuinely made the stay better. The location gives this property tremendous potential. Unfortunately, the maintenance issues, inconsistent housekeeping, confusing food availability, and lack of attentive service made it feel like the resort simply isn't being operated at the level its location deserves.

Breakfast is not served in the off season but I'm happy to bring food and make my own. There is a room at the basement level with a mini-fridge and basket for each room to store their food. There is also a closet with pots/pans, etc. and a stove for the guests' use. The eating area is my favorite spot with two tables, a coffee pot, tea pot, toaster, mini-fridge, dishes, and a wall of glass looking out onto the ocean. It is a very casual, comfortable place. Perhaps the casualness of it is what caused the only negatives I've encountered (but not negative enough for it not to be THE place for me). Once a mother and daughter were in the common room having a long and heated discussion/ argument. Another time a young boy took over the TV on a rainy day and stayed there for hours even though he could have used the TV in his room. I think people stay here so often that they get very comfortable, get to know the owners and act as though it's their house. Or maybe they are just inconsiderate. The Beach House Inn is my favorite place, I love bringing different people with me each time so they can experience it, and I can't imagine going anywhere else on the Cape.
