Beach Realty - View from our deck

    Beach Realty

Last week was my third time renting a cottage from Beach Realty. I can't say enough about how…read moreawesome these rentals are! First of all, location, location, location! Oceanfront with private beaches. Next, the houses range from modest cottages that sleep 4, to huge homes. Something in everyone's price range. The houses are clean and well-stocked with all the necessities. You can bring your own linens or you can rent anything you can't (or don't want to) bring. And finally, the fun as well as the peace and quiet! Beach Realty enforces the occupancy limit so if you are looking to rent a party house and cram a lot of people into it, this is not the place for you. But if you are looking for a house, large or small, to share with family and friends, it's a perfect area. Lots to do including kayaking, swimming, boating, shopping, or just hanging out on your very private beachfront. Love them!

We've gone through Beach Realty for years as our property management company for our summer rental…read morehome and have always had nothing but exceptional service and a great experience. Our home would be rented almost entirely by January, with high quality, well-vetted renters filling our home weekly for the entire summer. Their fee is relatively high but fair, considering they do all of the work and we never needed to interface in any way with our renters. They also were helpful with recommending local services as needed and made great suggestions to improve the overall desirability of our home for rental. I'd recommend going through Beach Realty for all rental needs. They are true professionals with a real pulse on the East Sandwich/upper Cape housing and rental market.

Del Mar Vacations - Our amazing team getting ready to help you have an amazing 5-star vacation

Wonderful home in Wellfleet. Just off route 6 so although you hear the cars on the highway, the…read morelocation allows for easy access to both town center and south Wellfleet. The house was clean, updated, had air conditioning, comfy beds, linens/bath towels provided, laundry on site, fenced backyard, and an outdoor dog kennel for those who need it. TV and wifi were easy to use. Easy to get to Wellfleet beaches and major ponds via backroads. They even offer grocery delivery if booked in advance! Will definitely stay here when we return on the future!

I had high hopes for our vacation rental through Del Mar, especially given the price tag…read more Unfortunately, it was an utter failure, as the house they gave us was irreparably broken. First, the A/C upstairs did not work, and it was 85 degrees on the second floor when we arrived (which should have been alerted and resolved before we arrived because the cleaning staff had been there that day). It took DAYS for Del Mar to have a third-party technician diagnose the A/C as unfixable (due to it being a very old, outdated unit that was not maintained properly). Del Mar then had window units delivered, which worked fine - but that was after two nights of not being able to sleep on the second floor. Second, the pool/spa iPad lost its connection, so we forfeited a full day in the pool because they couldn't find the homeowners to get the password to reset the iPad. (Why Del Mar didn't have this password is beyond me.) Even when it was back to working, the spa temp wouldn't regulate and it consistently went up to the max temp (104 degrees) even though we set it much lower. Third, the firepit was broken. When we arrived, it was uncovered and filthy. We had a technician come out to clean it, but it still never worked. There were some smaller things too, like the microwave overheated while cooking popcorn and set off the house fire alarm (for which we never even received outreach from anyone to see if it was a false alarm or if the house was on fire). The kicker was that we asked Del Mar for a refund for the substantial trouble we had - not only with a broken-down house but for all the time we spent tracking down Del Mar and waiting for technicians - and they offered us a piddly and truly offensive partial refund. I really have never been so mistreated after spending this much money, and I will absolutely never use Del Mar Properties again. One of the third-party techs who came to the house even noted that he visited a lot of Del Mar properties that had similar maintenance issues and that their reputation amongst locals is for giving sham luxury - looks fancy and high-end from a distance but has a lot of hidden issues. Oh, and the true icing on the cake is that Del Mar TURNED OFF my ability to write a review on their website, which is so dishonest and disgraceful. I noted that the only reviews on their website are 5-star reviews, which tracks since they don't even allow dissatisfied customers to write reviews. I feel totally scammed.

I was surprised to see cobwebs in the bathroom, dirty vents, etc. it needed a deep cleaning! However, the water pressure was great and the water got plenty hot. The pond is lovely and the beach was perfect for a day with friends. However, long walk uphill to the restroom. The bathroom/showers by the pool were pretty decent but the musty smell was nearly unbearable. I blame it on people not turning the vent on while they shower. It was so gross to use those toilets because of the smell. Additionally, I was unhappy to see so many children driving golf carts, despite the rule that is in place. It's not safe! Two times we were in almost accidents. First time the young girl was driving the golf cart on the wrong side of the road and was driving right at us. The scarier part was that she didn't even understand why we were waving our arms at her. There was lots of other vehicles and golf carts as it was a Friday night, could have been a bad situation. I did report this to the security. The second time, a young girl just about rear ended us she came up so fast. They need to police this before there is a serious accident!

Do Not Book This Place!…read more I travel around the country in my RV and have stayed at many campgrounds, but unfortunately, this was one of the most unwelcoming places I've ever experienced. To start, the woman working the morning shift was extremely rude, particularly toward non-seasonal campers. She told my daughter that she "needs to learn patience." She may be right, but in this situation, my daughter was simply trying to get in to see me and apparently that may have required this employee to actually do her job. I do want to mention that the woman who checked us in was extremely nice and professional, and I appreciated her kindness. Unfortunately, once I was checked in, I could immediately feel a different vibe. It honestly felt like this campground was primarily welcoming to its seasonal campers and that short-term visitors were an inconvenience. Unfortunately, I had an emergency at home because my house is currently under construction, so I had to cut my four-day trip short after only one day. The following day, I called to ask whether they would consider a partial refund or possibly a credit for the slower season. I completely understood if the answer was no, and I was simply asking. The woman told me she needed to speak with the manager. Apparently, she did not properly place me on hold, because I could hear the entire conversation. The way they spoke about me and the situation was extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional. After traveling and camping all over the country, I can honestly say this was one of the least welcoming camping experiences I've had. It felt more like a trailer park than a campground, and there was a very noticeable "clicky" atmosphere. I would hate for anyone to waste their valuable vacation time or money on a place where they don't feel welcome. For me, Kampgrounds of America (KOA) and Spacious Skies Campgrounds have been much more reliable choices when it comes to feeling welcomed as a traveling camper. Bill Davidson
