The adjacent protected ceremony space beneath the trees feels private, peaceful, and elegant. What impressed us most was how smoothly everything ran. We did not hire a wedding planner, so we relied heavily on the venue team, and our coordinator Macarena was exceptional--organized, responsive, and very experienced in helping the bride shape the flow of the day. A few highlights I'd like to mention: - the food is AMAZING. Kathleen is a superb chef and takes great individual care of all of her guests. She was proactive in making sure all of her food was customized to my dietary restrictions, which was greatly appreciated. - the service is top notch. We told our waitress one morning that we planned to go to the beach that day. By the time we finished breakfast, she had packed up two beach chairs and a bag with towels, waters and snacks for us. She even put all of it out by our car so we could easily bring it for our beach trip! - the local connections and recommendations were excellent and added to our experience in Yarmouth. Chuck and Kathleen are super plugged in to their community and were able to advise us on the best places to eat around town, as well as a few pretty areas to walk and enjoy the nice weather. - the baked goods are excellent. We spent as much time as possible at the lake - they have canoes, kayaks and a stand up paddleboard for use - and spent hours on the dock in the sun in total relaxation...it was hard to want to go anywhere else. What really put our experience over the top, though, are the hosts, Ann and Roy. They took such good care of us and we quickly felt like family. Our favorite part of the day was breakfast - we spent the mornings talking over the most delicious blueberry pancakes you'll ever have (thanks Ann!). I can guarantee that good percentage of people that read this may ask themselves, "Where is…read moreOsterville?" It is a quaint little village in Barnstable, MA with heaps of "old money" and traditional Cape Cod charm. Although I have lived my entire life in Massachusetts, I had never heard of, let alone stepped foot in Osterville until last weekend when I worked at a wedding at Oyster Harbors Club; a private, members only club. Let me preface this review by saying that it is based solely on my experience as an outside vendor working at the club - not as a member or guest. I work as an assistant for a boutique event planning and consultation firm, and we recently coordinated a wedding reception held at this venue. The club itself is beautiful - tall ceilings, crown molding, beautiful carpets and hardwood floors, a large ballroom, a fabulous patio with gorgeous lawns and water views... even the bathrooms were gorgeous! It was easy to see why the couple fell in love with this venue. The bride's family had a close friend who was a member and offered to sponsor the couple (non-members) so they could have their wedding there. It was apparent that the catering staff and management was not accustomed to working with outside coordinators, but overall, things went smoothly. Here's my biggest complaint about this venue: During a wedding, vendors (wedding coordinators, assistants, DJ's, band members, etc.) are offered dinner. Vendors typically work a 10-15 hour day for a wedding and don't have another opportunity to eat, so many of them actually require a meal in their contracts; it is considered standard practice in the industry. They are usually fed whatever meal the guests receive, or a suitable, albeit less expensive alternative consisting of a protein, vegetable and starch. The hosts of the wedding are charged for each vendor meal that is ordered. That being said, my colleagues and I sat down to have our meal during this wedding and were completely shocked when we were offered a lunch-sized portion chicken Caesar salad! We weren't even given bread or water to accompany the meal! Normally, I would not complain but since we coordinated the wedding, we were well aware of how much money the bride and groom paid for each vendor meal... and a chicken Caesar salad was simply unacceptable for the price they were charged. While I would not consider myself an "expert" in the food service industry, but I have worked for a number of higher end restaurants, yacht clubs and catering companies in Boston and Martha's Vineyard over the last 10 years. Never in my experience as an assistant or even as a server was I ever given salad to sustain me through a 12 hour workday. I sincerely hope that Oyster Harbors Club does not make this practice routine, and I urge those who plan to hold an event at this venue to request a detailed cost breakdown for the guest and vendor meals from management.

Well there is nothing to worry about here. It was beautiful. The garden and outside area were gorgeous. The interior was decorated with beautiful antiques which made it so cozy. Our room had a private bath and small refrigerator. Marybeth and Peter thought of everything. Our morning breakfast was AMAZING!!!! We were so full we never ate lunch. The morning meal consisted of fresh fruit, fresh squeezed juice, homemade breads, cakes and an entree. I could go on and on about this inn and it's keepers. But .... the best part was the amazing breakfast! Jason, Laurie's husband prepared two of the most amazing meals I have ever had. The first day they packed mine to go and while I sat on the beach, I enjoyed a chocolate chip scone, fresh fruit and a delicious Breakfast Croissant with Gruyere Cheese. Unreal. The second day was fresh fruit, a cheesy biscuit and a make your own crepes. I combined the lemon curd and raspberry jam and then the mini chocolate chips and the vanilla sauce. It was like a beautiful flavor concert in my mouth. I would stay here anytime and would highly recommend it to anyone in the area!
