From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by gracious host, Marco, whose warmth and hospitality set the tone for our entire stay. The staff's attentiveness was remarkable, ensuring that every need was met with genuine care and a smile. The ambiance of the inn is simply enchanting. The perfect landscaping surrounding the inn is a testament to the owners' attention to detail, with lush gardens and meticulously designed pathways that create a picturesque and inviting atmosphere. Beautiful sounds of nature surround the property, creating a serene backdrop that perfectly complements the impeccable taste showcased in every detail of the decor. Personal touches, such as hand-written notes and thoughtfully curated local artwork, made our stay feel uniquely special. Every detail, was thoughtfully considered, creating an experience that felt both personalized and magical. Our room was a stunning blend of elegance and comfort, complete with upscale toiletries in the bathroom, luxurious bed linens, and plush towels that added an extra touch of indulgence to our experience. Upon returning to our room in the evening, we were greeted by the delightful scent of fresh linens and subtle hints of essential oils, creating a calming, aromatherapy moment that made us feel immediately relaxed. This property is a true sanctuary for relaxation. It felt like we had stepped into a dreamlike storybook, where every corner held a new charm. One of the many highlights of our stay was the delicious homemade breakfast made by Angelo, which featured not only an array of artisanal bakery treats but also savory options that were simply mouthwatering. The staff even remembered our coffee preferences, ensuring that each cup was just to our liking. Each meal was served with adorable serving dishes that made the presentation feel like a work of art, enhancing the overall dining experience. From the hand-peeled roasted tomatoes, which added a burst of flavor that perfectly complemented the meal, to the delightful lime zest sugar topping, that provided the perfect balance of sweetness and citrusy brightness. Breakfast was visually stunning and incredibly flavorful, showcasing the care that went into every dish. The Candleberry Inn is a Diamond that exceeds expectations in every way. The combination of gracious hosts, caring staff, impeccable attention to detail, and a beautiful setting makes it a must-visit destination. You will want for nothing when you stay here and will leave feeling truly pampered. We can't wait to return for another enchanting getaway! Thank you Marco, Angelo and Staff. Brava & much love.

And here is why…read more First of all the inn is beautiful, well appointed, and the building and grounds are well manicured and taken care. Second, the innkeepers themselves are very friendly and accommodating. Marco, Angelo and Steffi are delights to be around and talk to. They are more than willing to share their insights into activities on the Cape and places to visit. They are fonts of knowledge. As well as fun to talk to. Third the breakfasts are exceptional. Angelo is the master chef behind a varied and healthy breakfast. It was a treat each morning we stayed. A fruit course followed by the main breakfast. Fourth, speaking of treats. Each afternoon a small box labeled with our names with a bake good of some sort was waiting for us in the inn. They were delicious and much looked forward to. Fifth, the sleeping room was spacious with a very comfortable bed and a small but adequate bathroom. We had access to an outdoor veranda/porch sitting area, which we took advantage of each day. This small inn is a real treasure in Brewster. I highly recommend it.

A heavenly touch to an already wonderful night's stay. ***** This was our 5th visit to the Old Manse Inn. I've written positive reviews before, but I wanted to write an update to point out that the Innkeepers are constantly improving the inn - making each subsequent visit special. I've been to other inns and hotels, and noticed how they can stagnate - but not so, with the Old Manse Inn. Refreshed rooms and baths, updated linens and furnishings. And they have added living quarters for seasonal staff - a bonus on the Cape! The staff are always thoughtfully interviewed before hiring - and they are friendly and meticulous in their work. You can see they are loyal to the inn and the inn's clients. Breakfast is especially wonderful, given my wheat allergy - there are always options.

Since…read moreit was a private retreat, we had our own chef (lobster dinner!) and meals provided by a local chef. There were seven of us and each of us had our own bedroom and private bath in the remodeled bed and breakfast inn. The Sea Meadow Inn was the home of Captain Isaiah Clark, built around 1783 on Route 6A, the Old King's Highway, in the town of Brewster which was often called the Sea Captains Town since so many built homes there. Now it is a bed and breakfast and each of the seven rooms has its own personality. I slept in the Jeremiah room, which was the room of Captain Clark's son Jeremiah, who scrawled his name on the attic door, and the name is still visible on the attic door! There is a large kitchen and sitting room in which we all gathered, as well a patio, a huge lawn with chairs, as well as a fire pit. I was there in October, but remnants of flowers were abundant in the gardens surrounding the house. The house has the floors, fireplaces, and nostalgia of an earlier era, but the private bathrooms and bedrooms are all nicely furnished. It's a magical place and I highly recommend it if you are looking for a place to stay in Cape Cod.

The bedroom features an oversized California King bed, a desk and chair, television and lounge chair with ottoman. Beautiful French double doors lead to one of the loveliest features of the room which is a private deck with chairs. The living room has a delightful fireplace, comfortable sofa and another television. There is also a tastefuly done little kitchenette which was stocked with dishes and glassware as well as a mini fridge. And off the living room is the attractive bathroom stocked with toiletries and comfortable robes. Right outside our room was a Flavia coffee and tea maker as well as another refrigerator with complimentary creamer, soda and bottled water. The table in our bedroom also had a complimentary decanter of sherry and two scrumptious chocolate truffles were left on our pillows each evening. Although most of the inn's rooms are in a separate building a few steps away, breakfast is served each morning in the main house and in the company of Harrison, the inn's resident and well behaved Labradoodle. An afternoon sweet treat of cake or cookies is also provided in the main house and there's always a bowl of chocolates if you need a sweet to tide you over. We had the bad luck to not have the inn-keepers, Donna and Byron, in residence during most of our stay as they'd suffered a death in the family and were out of state. However, they'd left clear instruction with their staff about our arrival and we were warmly greeted and welcomed. During our stay, the staff was quick to answer questions about the area and to provide restaurant recommendations. The room itself also contained a lot of information about local attractions and restaurants. The night before our last day we came back to our room to find a complimentary bottle of champagne and note from the innkeepers with their sincere regrets for having been away during our stay. That was a very nice touch and was greatly appreciated. On the down side, we actually didn't think much of the breakfasts as they were largely flavorless and frequently included microwaved bacon. We wondered if the food suffered due to Donna's absence because she was billed as the cook. Both Donna and Byron were back on our last morning and it was Donna who prepared our breakfast that day. The food did improve under her stewardship but we'd still say it compared poorly to other B&B's we've visited. Our room, though lovely, did have some oddities. All the plumbing fixtures were installed backwards so that all handles turned in an atypical direction and the shower pipe was loose which restricted some of the water pressure. The impression was that the work had not been professionally done. In the bedroom, the bed was oddly situated with one side far too close to the wall despite more than ample room on the other side. It made it uncomfortable for the person sleeping on that side to get in and out of bed. Finally, we do have somewhat of a pet peeve with inn-keepers who advertise suites, which should be two separate rooms divided by a door, even though the room does not meet that criteria. In this case, the only separation between the bedroom and living room was a screen. Nevertheless, the inn was quite nice and Donna and Byron were charming hosts who had trained their staff well. Brewster is located mid-Cape and convenient for day trips to Hyannis and Provincetown which makes this a good choice for a place to stay and there are some lovely beaches right by the inn. Overall we enjoyed our stay on Cape Cod very much.
