They are beautifully decorated and located across from the beach. These cottages have stoves, refrigerators, grill, panic tables, chairs, etc., just like home. One can cook, grill, and relax either at their own individual cottage or walk over to the beach. There are also restaurants, and other eateries nearby. The front desk closes at 9pm so you're on your own. The wifi is free and strong, but it goes off at night. The cable tv only had a few working channels. When you call the number on the brochure for something (i needed a plunger for example), you get the 'sister property' which then relays to the front desk your inquiries, which are then answered lightening-fast!! I stayed in a water-view room with sliding door to a shared balcony. Had i thought about it I would have paid the extra for the room with kitchen as I spent money on breakfast every day!! There is a 24 hr Cumberland Farm nearby with water and snacks. There is a mini fridge in the room, a nuker, and a coffee maker. This room had 2 comfortable clean beds- one queen and one double. The heat worked! The water was hot and there were plenty of towels. The tub was a bit slow draining but i believe they are working on that. The adult and kiddie pools were not yet filled and there were no boats. There was no daily housekeeping and unless i asked for something I was left alone to my business. Honestly though by the 3rd day I missed coming 'home' to a made-bed, empty garbage can and a swept floor! Something to think about.

Pro tip: arrive around 6 p.m. if you want to snag a parking spot since space is limited. Bring your chairs and blankets, settle in, and enjoy the evening. What really makes Menemsha special is the food. There are about five or six clam shacks/seafood spots right nearby where you can grab fresh lobster and other treats to enjoy right on the beach. Bonus points: they have enclosed bathrooms (no dreaded port-a-potties). Whether you're planning a romantic evening with your sweetheart or a family night making s'mores on the sand, Menemsha Beach is a can't-miss Vineyard experience. I eat. I judge. The location was was perfect for easy access to the ferry or to get onto the Shining Sea Bike trail. We have taken advantage of both activities. Although my room wasn't facing the harbor, it was clean and QUIET! Which I appreciated since I'm a light sleeper. I was running low on toothpaste and had forgotten shaving cream but that didn't stop the staff from stepping in and providing me shaving cream, toothpaste AND a toothbrush. Would definitely recommend staying here if you're looking for easy check-in, friendly staff that feel like family, and an extremely convenient location in the heart of Woods Hole.
