At check-in we were told both resorts had restaurants and beach bars, which made it sound like there would be plenty of options. In reality, it was difficult to know what would be open or serving food at any given time. We couldn't find consistent hours on the website or in our check-in materials, and even employees often seemed unsure. The Riviera café was essentially grab-and-go. We used it for breakfast, but typically only one or two menu items were actually available and they were premade and reheated. The coffee options were good, though. We tried going there for lunch after discovering Jonah's was closed and found premade salads and leftover breakfast sandwiches. The employees actually directed us to Jonah's and seemed surprised when we told them it was closed. The beach bar was the most consistent food option, but choices were limited and mostly fried/heavy. At Jonah's, we waited more than an hour for four salads one evening and about 45 minutes for two salads and a pizza another. Places were frequently out of menu items or ingredients, and the beach bar was even completely out of silverware at one point. Unfortunately, the property also felt very worn. Our bathtub was rusty and had peeling paint, the bathroom door barely closed, our TV had a black line running through the screen, and our balcony railing felt loose enough to make us uncomfortable. Carpeting throughout the property looked worn and dirty. An ice machine was broken for our entire stay, the beach foot sprayer was broken, and many interior doors were warped from humidity. The heated pools were still quite cold, while the hot tub was almost unbearably hot. Housekeeping was another issue. Our room wasn't serviced until day three, after I contacted the front desk and asked for service. When they agreed to provide full service, we left the room so they could work. When we returned, the beds had simply been made with the existing sheets rather than having the sheets changed. Staff presence was inconsistent as well. People generally weren't particularly friendly or welcoming and often seemed unaware of what was happening elsewhere at the resort. Beach attendant coverage was unpredictable enough that at one point I grabbed the sand drill myself and installed our umbrella. There were positives. Our room had lots of convenient places to charge devices, which was surprisingly nice. More importantly, the private beach is gorgeous. It's easily accessible and the ocean views are fantastic. We paid for an ocean-view room, and I'm very glad we did because sitting outside and enjoying that view genuinely made the stay better. The location gives this property tremendous potential. Unfortunately, the maintenance issues, inconsistent housekeeping, confusing food availability, and lack of attentive service made it feel like the resort simply isn't being operated at the level its location deserves.

The hotel staff are friendly and helpful with anything we may need. (We had an issue with why our television wouldn't work with the remote and they quickly came up upstairs with us to figure out and solve the issue). We love that there are restaurants inside the hotel to eat at and the staff there are friendly and will take a minute or two to chat with you when they are not too busy. When I called the desk about it the employee cut me off to tell me I couldn't use the bathtub after 11pm (it was 9:45pm). And that stipulation was not apparent when we booked the room. I was too grossed out to use the tub at all the rest of the week, so that was a waste of money. The bathroom was overall not very clean or well-maintained. Shower had mold and needed to be re-grouted and small things like the towel holder were broken. The restaurant is super limited, only serving breakfast on weekends with like 4 things on the menu. And the food was below average. Most of the staff were very nice and the hotel has a charming aesthetic, but the standards absolutely do not match the price. I would've brought my qualms up to them instead of writing this review, but they did not bother to ask me how my stay was when I checked out. And this is more of a personal gripe, but we let them know it was our wedding week and they didn't do anything special. Usually a place in this price range gives you a little perk, like a mini bottle of champagne or a kind note waiting for you. Nothing from this place. Honestly just sad because this was a splurge we were excited about, but we should've just stayed at a more basic hotel.

From 12 o'clock: Stringy, dry braised beef 'short ribs', very dry rice pilaf with a spoon of the beef sauce to moisten it up a little, flavorless, unseasoned butternut squash ravioli in browned butter with pepitas, exceedingly dry, unseasoned salmon with no sauce, gummy, pasty chicken part with a gluey, tasteless sauce and very tasty glazed carrots. The salt shaker did a lot of work on this meal. The crême brulée was nice. The room's ambiance was cold and sterile with no discernable decor. The podium on the riser was visible scratched, nicked and dinged. There was one bartender for 150+ guests and they were apparently short staffed. P.S. If you're planning an event there, beware. The food, service, and ambiance there sucks (in my personal, and formerly professional opinion).

We stayed in the Robinson room that has its' own private entrance at garden level and loved it. Our room had a large king size bed, fireplace, and bathroom with a rain shower and large bath tub. Patti and Randy were great hosts that took us on a tour of the B&B prior to getting settled in our room. There is complimentary wine, beer, and cookies to munch on throughout the day. The complimentary breakfast they serve was also fantastic. We had peaches and cream with a corn muffin followed by eggs Benedict and hash browns. Everything was home cooked and delicious. We would definitely return and stay for longer. I'd be interested in checking out The Cottage for a longer stay next time! They did a tremendous job with all the extra details they add on - Patti even gave us a goodie bag for the road on our departure!

Any worries or concerns that I may have had disappeared the moment we pulled into the drive. From the impeccable landscaping to the timely and friendly greeting from the Inn owner, Pattie started the weekend off perfectly. She was both warm and inviting. She took the time to show us her beautiful property and all of its personalized, beautiful features and amenities. The rooms were spacious, impeccable and adorned with all of the luxuries you may want for a comfortable stay. The housekeeping crew left the room spotless and tidy each day as well. Watching Pattie work and care for her guests make the stay just that more special. She truly cares about her guests comfort. My friends and I were able to enjoy her delicious, homemade breakfasts (we could have done better of keeping her informed of any culinary preferences but she was able to accommodate a few reasonable requests). She has truly thought of every detail---from coffee/tea/filtered water access all day to homemade cookies ! Sitting on the veranda together whether in the evening or morning after breakfast, we were able to settle in surrounded by trees and enjoy one another's company. Very cozy and right on Buttermilk Bay. Not a snazzy resort but not one of those crappy motels you see up and down 28 on the Cape either. More of a B&B atmosphere. If you are seeing the canal, Onset or the Maritime Academy this is a nice spot to stay. Rent kayaks to tour the bay and Onset and as an added bonus, the Beachmoor is 1/2 a mile away and Capt. Als Tiki Bar is next door!

I've stayed here many times and chose different rooms that had ocean view or were ocean front. Each room was cute, comfortable, cozy. The inn is right on the beach and the prices are super affordable. I do go off season so that helps with the pricing. Breakfast is not served in the off season but I'm happy to bring food and make my own. There is a room at the basement level with a mini-fridge and basket for each room to store their food. There is also a closet with pots/pans, etc. and a stove for the guests' use. The eating area is my favorite spot with two tables, a coffee pot, tea pot, toaster, mini-fridge, dishes, and a wall of glass looking out onto the ocean. It is a very casual, comfortable place. Perhaps the casualness of it is what caused the only negatives I've encountered (but not negative enough for it not to be THE place for me). Once a mother and daughter were in the common room having a long and heated discussion/ argument. Another time a young boy took over the TV on a rainy day and stayed there for hours even though he could have used the TV in his room. I think people stay here so often that they get very comfortable, get to know the owners and act as though it's their house. Or maybe they are just inconsiderate. The Beach House Inn is my favorite place, I love bringing different people with me each time so they can experience it, and I can't imagine going anywhere else on the Cape.

The water is warm, calm and no undertow. Owners are accommodating and on site.

The living room can get cold since the heater is in the bedroom. You just need to keep the door open in the bedroom to warm up the living room. There were 2 full bathrooms for a one bedroom. I can see it fitting 4 people but would be slightly tight. There is an electric stove top and microwave; a kitchenette. No oven but a full fridge. Location: great location. Right across from the beach. 5-10 minute drive from the center of town. There are also a couple of restaurants that are a few buildings down. Lots of good restaurants and cute stores you can easily drive to. Major stores like Walgreens, Walmart, staples are also close by if you forgot or need anything. My spacious 1-BR Suite included an Efficiency Kitchen, & a Fireplace & Jacuzzi in the Master Bedroom. King Bed & Pillows were very comfortable. Closet was adequate. The 2 Full Baths were useful when Guests came over, & the Dining Table & 4 Chairs helped also. The Sofa was large & new ~ but I took off 1* for the thin very uncomfortable mattress on the Pullout. All Employees were friendly & helpful. Mid-Week ~ Housekeeping Service. Daily ~ towel exchange, trash removed, bed made up, paper products replaced. I was on the Ground Floor ~ no noise from walls or 2nd Floor above me. My Parking space was 5' from the Front Door. Outdoor Pool was large & beautiful, & it overlooked the FH Beach. It seemed like nothing in Falmouth was far away ~ a few blocks or a few miles. So I was able to max out my beach & touring time. I didn't even use a full tank of gas from the time I left Boston, until I was ready to leave the Cape, including a trip to Hyannis.
