Great public beach. I hear they have a spectacular sunset. I almost saw it. Too bad the fog rolled in right when the sun was setting. I guess we can't predict Mother Nature. The beach is clean and even though it is small, there is plenty of space. The water seemed great, but I stuck my bit toe in and realized it was too cold for this south Texan. We did what everyone else was doing and got fresh seafood from Larsen's and ate it on the beach. There's parking, but it is limited. The public bathrooms are nearby. They are clean. The bathroom didn't have hand soap, so take your own. I didn't notice anyone renting beach chairs or umbrellas, so go prepared. It is a dry town, so get your wine or beer before your trip to this beach

As with all of the beaches in Martha's Vineyard, you'll enjoy the picturesque scenes. Each beach has it's own charm. Menemsha beach is on the small side, not too crowded and close to the restroom! What's even better is the fact that it is close to Larsen's fish market! So if you don't have time to pack any snacks for the beach, you can just walk a couple of minutes walk away to order what you need. Just be warned, this beach is on the rocky side.

Popular place to come watch the sunset. Bring your own towels, beach chairs, etc. Almost everyone came for an evening picnic by the water. There are several seafood shops right by the beach, but they get crowded so come early to avoid missing the sunset if you have to wait in line! Parking also gets full easily, so another reason to come early if you don't want to walk far to get your car afterwards. It's a lovely small and peaceful beach with a nice crowd. A lot of people, but never felt cramped.

The sunsets are spectacular. Bring a nice spread of food and drinks. Or get takeout from The Bite.

The beach is small and concentrated. The sunsets are spectacular. Bring a nice spread of food and drinks (wine and champagne is nice). Or get takeout from The Bite. This is a dry town. BYOB.

This is a gorgeous Beach. After a delightful walk through the woods you will see a variety of…read moresandals, shoes , and sneakers. Left on the side of the path. Feel free to leave yours here too.. Now you will climb a sandy incline . When you reach the top you will think you are in the Caribbean. The ocean is cerulean blue..and the sand is softer and lighter than most New England beaches. There are tidal pools on both the far left and far right of the the beach. In the the summer high season ithe beach is only open to West Tisbury residents. In the past , it was possible for non-residence to use the Beach in the off-season. I believe it is the best beach on the island.

NOT FAMILY-FRIENDLY…read more The beach itself is excellent. The overall experience is not. The town of West Tisbury permits only one car *per house* to park at the beach. So if you have multiple families (with little kids) sharing a house, and everyone in the house wants to go simultaneously, then they must be shuttled. Which potentially means adding & removing car seats. The town also doesn't seem to have accounted for the case where multiple families from the same house may arrive at different times. (Ex: One family in the permitted car, another family dropped off by someone who doesn't want to go to the beach.) The town gives only 1 set of credentials. Fine, allow only one car. But why not give one beach access card to each family? Finally, this information's buried. We learned it at the pass office; it wasn't in the guidebook we bought, the websites we'd checked, nor our rental's info packet. Hopefully this review will help other families avoid this pitfall. ‍
