I had a horrible experience with Pretty Picky Properties and I would strongly caution anyone to use them.
June 2024, I rented a property, seven adults and three babies. The second night, the sewer backed up. (we brought our own one-ply toilet paper and were very careful not to flush anything else). Three toilets got stopped up. Two showers and one bathtub were totally filled with disgusting fecal matter. Please see attached pictures, if you can stomach it. The entire downstairs smelled horrible. Pretty Picky Properties was responsive coming out to house with a remediation company. They took apart the toilet in the master bathroom. That night, we spent hours cleaning up the mess in the three bathrooms as well as wiping down the floors. The next day, the remediation company returned. The basement had to be remediated with fans and chemicals. The bathrooms had to be remediated. We are unsure if or how the floors were cleaned where the big machine with its snake trudged through the house.
At this point, we did not know what chemicals were used, (and were only told exactly what was used days later).
We have three babies in the house, playing on the floors. What chemicals were used? Were the floor properly cleaned? When was it safe to return to house? We had to vacate that house. We felt it was unsafe. Pretty Picky Properties offered a small credit.
Stuff happens. The sewer backed up. I get it. But imagine if YOU rented this house with three babies, went through this ordeal, had to vacate the house while it is being remediated and cleaned. They expected us to return to house just a few hours after remediation. That was what we were told by Pretty Picky Properties. Leave house and come back in an hour or two after remediation- TRUST US! IT'S SAFE! DON"T WORRY ABOUT THE CHEMICALS USED THROUGHOUT THE HOUSE!
Astounding and just terrible. If you are looking to rent in Cape Cod, Chatham area, I would be extremely cautious to rent from Pretty Picky Properties. read more
