Wonderful home in Wellfleet. Just off route 6 so although you hear the cars on the highway, the location allows for easy access to both town center and south Wellfleet. The house was clean, updated, had air conditioning, comfy beds, linens/bath towels provided, laundry on site, fenced backyard, and an outdoor dog kennel for those who need it. TV and wifi were easy to use. Easy to get to Wellfleet beaches and major ponds via backroads. They even offer grocery delivery if booked in advance! Will definitely stay here when we return on the future! read more

I have never in my life written a 1-star review, but I am doing it now and this is why. I committed to a Del Mar Vacation over this past summer based on what appeared to be a wonderful property that my family could enjoy. There was some compelling advertising involved that raised our expectations for a wonderful week on Cape Cod. Unfortunately it ended up being nothing like we imagined from the beautiful pictures and well-written ads. This was a week vacation in Yarmouth Port, MA July 18-25. I committed to this based on advertising by Del Mar Vacations referring to a renovated home, a hidden gem, and a 5-star experience. Instead, it turned out to be an expensive nightmare for my family who had arrived from 3 different states based on these inflated descriptions. There were appalling conditions both outside and inside the property. The outside was a mess, and the inside included stained carpets and chairs, ripped screens, one of the apartments emanated strong musty odors, apparent mold and parts of the ceiling noticeably cracked, live insects were found hanging on flypaper in both the kitchen and dining room areas (which was disgusting), and the electrical lights downstairs kept flickering on and off whenever we engaged the A/C. These conditions were evident the moment we walked in, and we called to let Del Mar Vacations know how shocked and disappointed we were. Check-in time was late in the day and Del Mar refused to find us an alternative location. Consequently, we were forced to endure 1 night there. These conditions were eventually acknowledged by both a Del Mar manager and the Director of Hospitality Operations, but despite the fact that we felt strongly and relayed that these conditions were unacceptable, we were left to find another location in the middle of July entirely on our own, and Del Mar eventually insisted on keeping 70% of our fees. I was so disturbed by this treatment that I wrote the CEO of Del Mar, but he never even bothered to get back to me or even acknowledge my letter, and left it to one of his reports to give me the bad news that nothing further would be done. At one point, another manager suggested that Del Mar would refund an additional 20% if I removed my negative review, which seemed in appropriate and unethical to me. On this basis, I cannot recommend Del Mar Vacations to anyone, and I would suggest that whoever is considering a property do a thorough search of the property reviews first, and if possible, view the property before you commit to it. And check to see if all the reviews are there in the first place. I just looked again at the ad for the home I rented, and I'm very curious why that property indicates there were 79 reviews in total, but I find only 50 are available online, all of which are 4- or 5-star reviews. Apparently my review is one of those not included. Buyer Beware. Del Mar's advertising can be misleading and if you have big problems like we had, don't count on getting your money back! read more

Rats. Rats. Rats. We could hear them clawing inside the walls, ceilings, cupboards, everywhere. At night, you could hear them scratching and trying to get out, squeaking right next to your head, and scurrying around near our belongings. It was extremely unsettling trying to sleep while wondering whether they were going to get into the room or damage our clothes and other belongings. We got to the point where we didn't even want to touch food that had been left out on the counter because we knew rats were moving around the property. Unfortunately, the problems didn't stop there. The beds were old, creaky, and provided almost no support. There was mold in the bathrooms, the sink faucets were loose at the base, and the grill was rusted and in such poor condition that it was essentially unusable. Del Mar advertises that they create "5-star experiences," but this was nowhere close to one. They acknowledged the rat issue, but we did not feel that the compensation or their response came anywhere close to adequately addressing the severity of the situation, the disruption to our stay, or the distress of spending nights listening to rats moving around inside the property. This was not a minor inconvenience. Between the rats, the condition of the property, and the maintenance issues, what should have been a relaxing stay in Eastham became an incredibly uncomfortable experience. I would also strongly recommend that prospective guests look beyond the reviews displayed directly on the property or management company's own site and check independent review platforms as well. Beware. read more

I recently stayed at a Del Mar vacation rental as a person who was invited by another who paid for the rental. This was at Dennisport, MA, more on listed at 1 mile from the beach. The house was very nice and clean. The only real problem there, was no internet or cable. So if you want to stream, you better make sure you have either a roku or google chrome cast with you. Since none of the TV are smart tv's! Also the internet is a little buffering problem. If you wpn't have cable then at least for the amount you pay, have a smart tv. Or just have cable based on what they want to rent the place! read more

This was the first summer we used Del Mar Vacations, and it was great. We were located in Wellfleet on the pier, directly across Mayo Beach, to be specific. There are several locations to choose from and different layouts in each house. The one we stayed in was pretty small and cramped, with an attached living room and kitchen, a bathroom, a master bedroom, and a bunk bed in another room. The bedding was no issue for us, as it was comfy. The room was clean, and the air conditioning flowed smoothly and was well organized. A lock is on top of the door for the bathroom, which is a hook. Outside is a table and even a walkway to view the complex. There is plenty to do, with the bay directly across and Wellfleet Center not far away. Our only minor complaint is the parking, which is very cramped and close to the road. Widening it would be an improvement. Regarding the price and stay, we are willing to use Del Mar Vacations in the future. read more

I had high hopes for our vacation rental through Del Mar, especially given the price tag. Unfortunately, it was an utter failure, as the house they gave us was irreparably broken. First, the A/C upstairs did not work, and it was 85 degrees on the second floor when we arrived (which should have been alerted and resolved before we arrived because the cleaning staff had been there that day). It took DAYS for Del Mar to have a third-party technician diagnose the A/C as unfixable (due to it being a very old, outdated unit that was not maintained properly). Del Mar then had window units delivered, which worked fine - but that was after two nights of not being able to sleep on the second floor. Second, the pool/spa iPad lost its connection, so we forfeited a full day in the pool because they couldn't find the homeowners to get the password to reset the iPad. (Why Del Mar didn't have this password is beyond me.) Even when it was back to working, the spa temp wouldn't regulate and it consistently went up to the max temp (104 degrees) even though we set it much lower. Third, the firepit was broken. When we arrived, it was uncovered and filthy. We had a technician come out to clean it, but it still never worked. There were some smaller things too, like the microwave overheated while cooking popcorn and set off the house fire alarm (for which we never even received outreach from anyone to see if it was a false alarm or if the house was on fire). The kicker was that we asked Del Mar for a refund for the substantial trouble we had - not only with a broken-down house but for all the time we spent tracking down Del Mar and waiting for technicians - and they offered us a piddly and truly offensive partial refund. I really have never been so mistreated after spending this much money, and I will absolutely never use Del Mar Properties again. One of the third-party techs who came to the house even noted that he visited a lot of Del Mar properties that had similar maintenance issues and that their reputation amongst locals is for giving sham luxury - looks fancy and high-end from a distance but has a lot of hidden issues. Oh, and the true icing on the cake is that Del Mar TURNED OFF my ability to write a review on their website, which is so dishonest and disgraceful. I noted that the only reviews on their website are 5-star reviews, which tracks since they don't even allow dissatisfied customers to write reviews. I feel totally scammed. read more

Del Mar vacations- where you pay a lot of money to vacation in a home that has items not up to code ie. Pool missing ladder in deep end, broken dangerous items such as metal spike sticking out of concrete pool side, unkept yards that are over grown and layered in trash eg. Cigarette butts, previous tenants trash, etc. and broken items - screens missing or ripped from doors, windows, towel bars in bathrooms, dead bugs littering the house, broken window shades, missing window shades, no sun umbrellas fir outside, photos of property that 100% misrepresent what you are renting. Quality at Del Mar is subpar. Including communication. Guest arrive at the rental and communicate concerns and are told no one is available due to holiday and traffic. What traffic? There was none, why don't you have people who work holidays, you run vacation homes? Don't want to pay workers well? So many unanswered questions!! read more

Booked a vacation through VRBO for a Del Mar property. The service attention to detail by Ruby and Callie, at Del Mar, was so helpful in assisting us with the completion of our paperwork to finalize our upcoming vacation. Thank you Del Mar!! read more

For the last couple of years we have used Del Mar to rent a home on Cape Cod. Last years experience was marginal and this years experience was terrible. Its funny you go on their website and there is no where to leave a review. They do have reviews posted, but obviously, they cherry pick the good ones from other sites and post them on their website. We still to this day do not understand why check in is delayed to 4:00 and check out is bright and early 9:00 am. I check with a variety of agencies that handle rentals on Cape Cod and non of them have these kinds of times. I guess you just accept that when dealing with Del Mar. That is like paying for 2 days of vacation and cannot be in the unit. We arrived, the air conditioning was not working properly, the second floor sink was clogged and many of the screens were missing. In addition, the second floor beds were basically box springs. They were so bad my daughter , after two days could not sleep on it and left. I understand this is not all on Del Mar, but you have 7 hours to clean and prep a unit, you would think these kinds of things would be checked? This is on Del Mar ! it was not until Monday Night or Tuesday that the air conditioning was fixed and the shower unclogged. We had small children sleeping on the second floor in rooms that we terribly hot. We would have just opened the windows, but most of the windows did not have screens. I called probably a dozen times and to be honest, it felt like no one cared, and that on Del Mar. Basically ruined the first three days of our vacation. read more

We have stayed at 2 Del Mar properties over the last few summers. The most recent was at The Pheasant in Dennis, MA. Both properties were updated, clean, with everything we could want on vacation. The staff is very attentive and reachable when needed. We will rent again through Del Mar and would recommend to anyone looking to rent on the Cape. read more

I recently stayed here with my family. My 3 kids and their significant others are all adults. First, the property was immaculate. The property manager left us a basket of goodies when we arrived. The property was exactly as pictured and probably nicer. It seemed like a brand-new home. The bathrooms were luxurious, and the home was furnished well. The back yard was peaceful with tremendous views, and the front yard fire pit with Boche ball was really fun. read more

Just a quick note to express my disappointment in Del Mar for the way they handled a rental situation. I had expressed interest in a particular rental, by phone and email, several times, and when I indicated I was ready to make a payment, the price was raised 4K (within 2 hours). Very unethical. read more

The Stowaway is such a charming bungalow set back down Young's Court in a quiet serene setting. The layout was perfect for us with well appointed and comfortable furnishings, very clean. The cathedral ceilings in the bedroom and living room with loft gave a very spacious feel. Two convenient parking spaces were a plus! Total charming experience! read more

Our family used Del Mar for our Cape Cod vacations two years in a row. They are an excellent company to work with. Very accommodating, professional, personable and always accessible. We booked a home for 4 nights in Eastham for a post-Labor day stay with the family. Del Mar vacations were great to deal with - and the house itself was IMPECCABLY clean. However, I wish that we were told that there was a new construction build going up less than 50 yards from the rental next door - the crew came at 7-8am every morning and went all day. We are a family of early risers, but if you had children or older folks or dogs that were triggered by that sort of thing, it may have been a large issue. Due to this, the value was a little high. read more

This was a perfect home for our three generation family retreat. The first floor master suite provided the grandparents with a quiet escape from the joyous commotion of our grandchildren . The view is gorgeous and the location of the house could not be better. The kitchen was very well stocked and the overall furnishings were just right. If you are a birder you will find this house to be a perfect spot for viewing wild turkeys, shore birds and snowy egrets. I can't recommend this house more highly. The folks at Del Mar Vacations were very responsive to our requests. Finally, we have re-booked for next year--how much more can I say. Enjoy! read more

Horrible service. Booked a refundable vacation and have had to fight to get a refund when we cancelled. Ended up having to dispute charges with credit card company. They don't seem to be an honest outfit. I would never use them again. Be very careful with these people. read more

We had a great time in the Cape. House was clean and in excellent condition. I had already reported that the grill was unusable. It would not ignite and the bottom was rotted out. People enjoy grilling on vacation. Hopefully it gets fixed for the next person. The drain in the upstairs shower doesn't drain well and if you don't pay attention to how long you are in there, it will flood over onto the floor. I highly suggested that gets looked at. Also the oven needs another rack that fits. You can't cook more than 2 things at once and if the grill doesn't work its a challenge. The racks in the cabinet were not for the oven. Other than those small things, the house was great. read more

8 cousins spent 6 days at this beautiful home. Everything about it was perfect for us. Well-furnished and decorated. The house is very private. You cannot see any neighbors. 10-15-minute walk to cute little Barnstable with several restaurants, a market and 2 coffee shops. 10-15-minute drive to Hyannis and all that it has to offer. Calm and beautiful views from the deck and windows. Bay in the distance. I recommend this property for a calm and enjoyable stay. read more

The cottage is on the smaller side but cute and clean. It met our needs and was in a great location of the Cape. I stayed there with my two teen daughters. They enjoyed the "studio" bedroom. I really enjoyed the outdoor shower. It was clean, spacious, great water pressure, and who wouldn't want to shower under blue skies and sun? We enjoyed our stay there. We also liked the patio area. We booked for 6 days during mid June and had perfect weather and missed all the crowds and beach pass fees. Bonus! Lori read more

Great location. Loved being right on the beach and easy walking distance from town. The house was clean and comfortable but somewhat dated. Wonderful family vacation. Del Mar staff were very responsive and easy to work with. Will definitely try to book with Del Mar for future trips to the Cape! read more

Overall this is a nice home with a lovely location though it is very dated with very little effort towards making it nice. We had to repair the toilet flusher on our own - management did not respond to my report it was broken. With 6 adults and 4 kids in the house, one toilet was not going to cut it. The basement had standing water puddles and was so musty and damp, it's really not usable as living space. We spent ZERO time in that area. Also, management did not respond to my report of those puddles. read more

the house was cute. The rooms are all next to each other upstairs with 1 bathroom, which wasn't that big of a deal. The hosts were able to let us check out early which was amazing. The only complaint I really have is that there are giant hedges that go right up to the road, so when you pull out of the driveway you cannot see oncoming traffic. We nearly got hit daily because you have to pull into the road lanes to cars. Also while we were given access to check-out at 10am (normal checkout is 9am) the staff showed up at 9:15 and stared at us until we were out of the driveway. Also want to state that the hosts asked for a review, but worded it like they needed 5 stars otherwise the renters would hurt their business. read more

Our stay was amazing! Property was beautiful- clean and well stocked. Communication prior to stay was great. And when the power went out in the middle of the night (weather related, no fault of Del Mar vacations), they answered the phone at 1:20am and were ready to help. We will definitely be booking with Del Mar again in the future! read more

Del Mar Vacations - Adorable house with all the amenities you could want or need! - Vacation Rentals Near Me - Orleans, Massachusetts

The house we rented was spacious, clean and easily accessible. Del Mar sent us regular communications with helpful information. The home needs some important updates i.e. shabby couches in the livingroom, though most had resonable slipcovers on them and they were all relatively comfortable. But when you turned on all lights in the kitchen, the lights throughout the house flickered. We let Del Mar know about this, but heard nothing back. I also left a voicemail message to which I got no reply. Again, the house was expertly cleaned, the location was great and we enjoyed our stay. read more

Spacious and nicely decorated home that's adjacent to the rail trail and only a five-minute drive to Red River Beach. Loved the huge sectional in the family room and the separate work area in the living room. The yard is lush and private. We had a great stay! read more

Great experience! Friendly and professional communication. The house we rented actually looked the same as the pictures on their website. That speaks honestly to me. I've rented from other companies and owners whose photos do NOT represent what you're really getting. The pricing was better than a popular national website. I would rent from Del Mar again! read more
