Perhaps good for purchases, but were VERY disappointed with a vacation property we rented through…read morethem. Truthfully, I'm torn about the fault of the realtor here, but here's my logic: 1) Place was disgustingly (and evidently) unclean; I vacuumed when I arrived. 2) Place was sort of falling apart; bathroom floor tile was coming up around toilet (gross), holes in screens, mildew on bathroom ceiling; called realtor to let them know to not lose security deposit 3) Realtor didn't seem to care at all when we 'checked-out' and were pretty clear that the place was a disappointment. Realtor responsibilities that would have avoided this circumstance: 1) Tell owner to clean it - hey, here's the number of a cleaning service we recommend and it MUST BE cleaned before the renters get in. 2) View property before listing it - then you might say to owner, hey, dude, some of this stuff really needs to be fixed before we will offer it to our clients 3) Look for feedback? An obvious statement of discontent by the renters should trigger some inquiry. Once we were provided no venue to feedback (not even a simple: "How was you vacation?"), my thought changed from "I will never rent THAT HOUSE again", to "I will never do business with THAT REALTOR again". I have never in my life written a 1-star review, but I am doing it now and this is why. I committed…read moreto a Del Mar Vacation over this past summer based on what appeared to be a wonderful property that my family could enjoy. There was some compelling advertising involved that raised our expectations for a wonderful week on Cape Cod. Unfortunately it ended up being nothing like we imagined from the beautiful pictures and well-written ads. This was a week vacation in Yarmouth Port, MA July 18-25. I committed to this based on advertising by Del Mar Vacations referring to a renovated home, a hidden gem, and a 5-star experience. Instead, it turned out to be an expensive nightmare for my family who had arrived from 3 different states based on these inflated descriptions. There were appalling conditions both outside and inside the property. The outside was a mess, and the inside included stained carpets and chairs, ripped screens, one of the apartments emanated strong musty odors, apparent mold and parts of the ceiling noticeably cracked, live insects were found hanging on flypaper in both the kitchen and dining room areas (which was disgusting), and the electrical lights downstairs kept flickering on and off whenever we engaged the A/C. These conditions were evident the moment we walked in, and we called to let Del Mar Vacations know how shocked and disappointed we were. Check-in time was late in the day and Del Mar refused to find us an alternative location. Consequently, we were forced to endure 1 night there. These conditions were eventually acknowledged by both a Del Mar manager and the Director of Hospitality Operations, but despite the fact that we felt strongly and relayed that these conditions were unacceptable, we were left to find another location in the middle of July entirely on our own, and Del Mar eventually insisted on keeping 70% of our fees. I was so disturbed by this treatment that I wrote the CEO of Del Mar, but he never even bothered to get back to me or even acknowledge my letter, and left it to one of his reports to give me the bad news that nothing further would be done. At one point, another manager suggested that Del Mar would refund an additional 20% if I removed my negative review, which seemed in appropriate and unethical to me. On this basis, I cannot recommend Del Mar Vacations to anyone, and I would suggest that whoever is considering a property do a thorough search of the property reviews first, and if possible, view the property before you commit to it. And check to see if all the reviews are there in the first place. I just looked again at the ad for the home I rented, and I'm very curious why that property indicates there were 79 reviews in total, but I find only 50 are available online, all of which are 4- or 5-star reviews. Apparently my review is one of those not included. Buyer Beware. Del Mar's advertising can be misleading and if you have big problems like we had, don't count on getting your money back!

Everybody I know has always told me I need a vacation, so this year, my boyfriend and I decided to take one. I selected a few places and bookmarked them on my laptop and had my boyfriend take a look at them and call the places he was interested in. We narrowed it down to two options, and Oceanside Condos was one of the two. While I was at work, he called and spoke with Jackie. When I got home, he had a lot of information written down that Jackie had provided, and told me that she was very friendly. We pondered the idea for about a week, then booked the room. Finally, our vacation day came. When we arrived, Jackie greeted us by name and was very helpful, providing us with a list of places in the area, and she even went through the list with us and told us what the best places in the area were. We checked into our room; it was even more beautiful than what the pictures had depicted. The view from our balcony, overlooking the pool and the ocean, was to die for. The room was clean from top to bottom. They supplied pots and pans for guests, so we were able to cook if we didn't feel like going out to eat. The first two days, the weather was wonderful. Other than that, it was rather yucky out, but we still made the best of our vacation. Regardless of how the weather was, the view from our room remained beautiful. Rain or shine, we were at the beach at least once a day. Every time we walked [or drove] by the office, Jackie greeted us with a smile and waved to us. Also, there is a really nice man named Dave that watches over the place at night, which made us feel more comfortable and secure, considering neither of us knew the area that well. Both Jackie and Dave are really sweet and do their jobs well. They gave us plenty of privacy, and at the same time, they were always there if we had any sort of question. They were even nice enough to allow me to use their office phone to call my father when I had lost my phone on the beach. At Oceanside Condos, we both felt welcome. All in all, I would strongly recommend Oceanside Condos to anybody who is looking for an affordable vacation with a great ocean view. Like any other place you will stay at, there are rules to be followed, such as no animals on the property, no glass bottles in the pool area, and a maximum of four guests per room (per Massachusetts occupancy laws). I don't find these rules unnecessary at all, for the owners are just doing their job and protecting their license. Therefore, if you don't like following rules, this probably isn't the place for you. But if you're looking to rent a beautiful, affordable condo on the ocean with the friendliest staff you will ever meet, I promise this will be the place for you. Thank you, Jackie and Dave, for allowing us to spend a week with you. We will be returning next year.
