I asked him how much, and he looked me up and down, and asked how many people. I told him 4. The price was $27 a person. so it's $108 total. Taxi rides don't work like that, it doesn't matter how many people are in the car. While scoffing at the extortion, I check Uber, but there weren't any available, which was a first for me. So it appeared this guy had a monopoly. My friend tried haggle a couple bucks off, but Damon got angry and told us to walk, and now it would be $500. We ended up going with this guy because we felt like there was no choice. Damon tried to make weird jokes about murder during the ride. The cab was a current Honda Accord with homemade "Moab Taxi" stickers on the side. At the hotel, the super friendly clerk arranged a ride back to the airport at the end of the trip with their maintenance staff for $20 for our party of 4. So yea, check with your hotel before you allow yourself to get ripped off by Moab Taxi.

I first reached out to Redtail in April 2022 with various questions about getting a charter from Durango to Moab in October 2022. I was nervous about the idea of booking a charter, in part because I didn't want to get stranded in Durango and miss an important event we had planned in Moab. Amanda was so incredibly helpful in answering all of my questions when I first booked our flight in April and all of my questions over the next six months. Amanda immediately gave me confidence in flying with Redtail and she was helpful in pointing me towards options for rental cars. When the day of our flight came Barbara picked us up in Durango. Barbara was welcoming, friendly, entertaining and most importantly a safe pilot. She even helped us load our luggage in our car which I thought was very kind. While she safely navigated from DRO to CNY she gave us some recommendations for what to see and where to eat in Moab and she pointed out some sights too. We loved that she pointed our Corona Arch because we hiked up to that arch later that afternoon. We really enjoyed our flight with Barbara! In addition to doing charter flights, Redtail Air Adventures specializes in scenic tours over Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park. Redtail also does river shuttles such as dropping or picking up people who are going to hike, bike or raft somewhere in the wilderness and they need a one-way ride. Jeff is AWESOME. Morning after a HEAVY rainfall, Brett was able to get us up the mountain to run Raptor again - he navigated the washed out and rutty road safely. To top it off, Jeff sent me nav locations for the meet up. Google is iffy when it comes to named locations inside parks so the actual nav points were perfect. Not only is Jeff and crew friendly and accommodating, he followed up with me periodically after sending us off, asking about trail conditions and notable viewpoints. For these reasons, Hazard County will be the ONLY shuttle service I will be using from now on.

The shuttle itself is is a great ride! not only clean but a smooth ride which up those dirt roads is saying something! The bikes are loaded on carefully and they ensure there is no way of damage / rubbing on the way up. The ride itself was like a guided tour of the views, with insights into the area and trails plus the "give me your trash dont leave it up there" means the leave no trace ethos starts straight away. Having tried other shuttles before this is one is the only one we use now, its a keeper!
