For the record, my friend and I did not plan accordingly at all! We thought we could just use our Uber app. There are really no Ubers and all the cars were rented. I asked him how much, and he looked me up and down, and asked how many people. I told him 4. The price was $27 a person. so it's $108 total. Taxi rides don't work like that, it doesn't matter how many people are in the car. While scoffing at the extortion, I check Uber, but there weren't any available, which was a first for me. So it appeared this guy had a monopoly. My friend tried haggle a couple bucks off, but Damon got angry and told us to walk, and now it would be $500. We ended up going with this guy because we felt like there was no choice. Damon tried to make weird jokes about murder during the ride. The cab was a current Honda Accord with homemade "Moab Taxi" stickers on the side. At the hotel, the super friendly clerk arranged a ride back to the airport at the end of the trip with their maintenance staff for $20 for our party of 4. So yea, check with your hotel before you allow yourself to get ripped off by Moab Taxi.

Moab has a real issue with local transportation. There are not many companies offering services and those that do either don't call us back or have terrible reviews. Hotel front desk gave his number and he did reply me at 10:20pm, such a late time. Then we drove inside to the park and pull the car out and it was already 0:30 am. Traveling in the west, long road, few existence of human civilization, and it is easy to have the feeling of loneliness and smallness, in awe of nature. What happened on the road made our trip an adventure, but what Randy did really made my day.

We have used Porcupine a few times now when we have been to Moab, each time Kacey has kept us up to…read moredate on drop off's and how high up they are going so there is no dissapointment, but luckily its been to the top everytime. The shuttle itself is is a great ride! not only clean but a smooth ride which up those dirt roads is saying something! The bikes are loaded on carefully and they ensure there is no way of damage / rubbing on the way up. The ride itself was like a guided tour of the views, with insights into the area and trails plus the "give me your trash dont leave it up there" means the leave no trace ethos starts straight away. Having tried other shuttles before this is one is the only one we use now, its a keeper!

Off road lovers would love these trails…read more Stunning views but honestly not a ton for kids to actually DO besides look over edges and drive. The little dinosaur footprint area was cool for 10 minutes. After two big hiking days at Arches, our kids were bored with the long car stops and short walks to viewpoints. If we did it again we would split Canyonlands across multiple half-days instead of one full day, or just accept it's more of a scenic-drive park with children.

Seriously!! The "show" reminded me of a 7th grade history/science lesson as a 1970s / 1980s teacher might have done it. "Bored to tears" comes to mind describing this experience.
