My Son and I have been patients here for a few years now. When you enter, the staff and the waiting room decor are very welcoming and inviting. Before I sat down in the dentist chair, I noticed it was wiped down before hand. All of their tools and equipment were cleansy as well. During the procedure, they make sure you're comfortable along the way. When injecting they have techniques where it reduces the pain. Less pain is a plus! There's plenty of parking available in the complex surrounded by other business establishments and just a short distance to the highway. Another great experience with Canyon Rim Dental. I have been going here for more than 10 years and have never had a bad experience. Today I went in to have a crown replaced that had popped off that was put on in 2019. I was prepared to pay almost $1200 for the replacement. Dr Sean Cook volunteered that the crown was covered under warranty and there would be no charge. He didn't have to say anything but it proves his ethics, honesty, and the best business practices he goes by. read more

I have had a severe fear of dentists my whole life. I avoided going for years cus of this. I finally decided I needed to try to go to one and found this place. I literally cried the moment I sat down cus I was so scared. I will say that this is the best dentist I have ever been to. They took such good care of me and offered me so many options to help me get through appointments and manage my fear. I used the laughing gas the first appointment for a filling and haven't used it since. They were so gentle and amazing I never needed it for any other appointment after getting through that initial fear of my first appointment. They have truly cured my fear of dentist and will never go anywhere else. I highly recommend to go whether you have a fear or not they are amazing. DO NOT GO TO CANYON RIM DENTAL. I had a cap that was put on by a previous dentist. I went into canyon rim dental hoping I can just get it put back on and the problem would be solved. After leaving the dentist office I would go home and make myself something to eat. It would literally break right off, so I would have to go right back in. This kept happening numerous times so the dentist told me I would have to go to a specialist and have a small post put in so the tooth had something to grab onto. Once the post was put on, this female dentist, who, not sure if she still works there or not, shaved the post down too short so this new tooth that I had to pay for wouldn't hold. So now I go in and see one of the brothers that own the place and he's picking at my gums trying to make room so he could cement the tooth back in place. Once again the tooth doesn't hold. Now they want me to remove the tooth, place a post in for six months, not replacing it with a temporary tooth and me having to pay thirty two hundred dollars on top of the twelve hundred that I've already paid from the previous tooth that they botched. I waited six months to have this new tooth put in. I spoke with Sean, the dentist and I told him I was very upset with how this process went. He told me whatever he could do to solve this issue. I told him I would like the tooth put back in and him eat the cost. He said he completely understood. I still had to go into the office a couple of times cause the tooth felt like it was putting pressure on three of my other teeth. Still having issues with the tooth and the office said I would have to pay the twelve hundred dollars. DO NOT GO TO THIS DENTIST, FIND ANOTHER DENTIST!! read more

Terrible experience! Made an appt for a routine cleaning. First they called me back 30 minutes late for my appointment and the hygienist says she doesn't know what happened, she was waiting for me. Obviously the office staff didn't tell her I was there. It had been awhile since I had seen the dentist, so they did X-rays and an exam, and then she says we will have to schedule another appointment for the actual cleaning. And says "oh did you think you were getting a cleaning this time?" Seriously?! She said they need 90 minutes for an exam and 60 minutes for the actual cleaning. But she only saw me for 30 minutes since they called me back so late. Waste of my time! And now they can't fit me in for another month for the cleaning! Take my advice, go somewhere else! read more

My last 7 appointments (all made 6 months in advance) have been rescheduled at least once by them. Last week, I received a call from them and I knew right away that they would be rescheduling. The soonest appointment they had that would fit my work schedule was 5 months from now. Totally ridiculous! I know my work schedule is difficult (appts must be after 3:45) and that is why I always schedule 6 months in advance. They have also rescheduled my daughter's last 2 appointments. My family will be finding a new dentist for sure! Rescheduling 1 or 2 appointments woulsld be fine but every single one is ridiculous. I tried calling today to get my records and the answering machine says they are closed even though the hours say they are open on Fridays. read more

What an incredible office! Ever since I can remember I have gotten my teeth cleaned by my mother so this is was the very first time I was coming in to a different dental office. Right from the start it was an excellent experience, all the staff seem like they really love and enjoy there environment which makes all the difference and you can tell. I saw Dr. Tenney for the first time today and he was so personable and friendly. I have never been in a dental office before that made me excited to be there but this place really does just that! My fiancé and I have been going here a little over a year. While everyone is very friendly we have had multiple scheduling issues. For me I was called a few days before my appointment to request to move my appointment to a later time. I approved and changed my work schedule to accommodate. Turns out they only changed my filling appointment and kept my cleaning at the original time. This was not expressed to me during the phone call. Also, I was confused because who would be willing to separate a cleaning and a filling in the same day by multiple hours? Who's work schedule can work with that kind of request? For my fiancé today he was left waiting for nearly an hour after his appointment time while several other patients arrived later were taken back. While they apologized and said they had a computer glitch, I struggled to see how that was the issue. The receptionist could very well see that others were being taken back, while my fiancé remained. We will be looking for another dentist for our future appointments. read more

Stellar Service, Clean Office, Good Times At The Dentist.... I broke and cracked some of my front teeth and had them install 4 nice new front teeth/crowns to return my face to the land of normal. The crows are great looking and you wouldn't know they are kit my real teeth! Dr. Sean Cook is always super friendly and makes a genuine experience out of the dental visits. I have to start by saying that this office is AMAZING! My family and I have been going here for years and have ZERO complaints. I had to have a crown done yesterday on a tooth that has been bothering me something horrible, Dr. Sean and his assistant made the whole appointment painless and easy! I am LOVING my crown, and have no issues with pain or discomfort after. I am a dental assistant by trade and am VERY selective on who I see for my dental care, I refuse to go to any corporate owned practices or practices that upsell dental care you do not need. Honesty, compassion and top notch patient care can all be found here from the front desk to the back office, and overall all staff members. This place is very different with this new ownership. It appears they care more about billing your insurance and getting money than bedside manner, being helpful or making you comfortable. The staff is rude and cold. This is now a revolving door of new staff. You are treated like a number. This is nothing like when Dr Whiting was the owner. He was personable with you and didn't try to charge you for everything. They are even charging for fluoride now. So pay for your poison! Went in for cleaning told I would need a deep cleaning before even sat in the chair. Then proceed to get x rays, have me see the DR who said everything looks great. All so they can charge my insurance. Asked for records and they refuse. I have been going to this office along with my entire family since 2008. Turns out after visiting a new dentist that I didn't need a deep cleaning. The crown they put in needed to be replaced. This is an office of amateurs looking for a pay check. I'm 75 years old and recently had to have a 40 year old bridge removed and replaced! Have to admit I was a bit nervous because of some not so good visits to other dentists in the past! From the moment I entered Canyon Rim, I was warmly greeted and began to relax. Dr Brian Mooney helped me relax further by listening to my concerns and simply explaining to me the procedure. When he also told me the bridge could be made there during this visit, I was really pleasantly surprised because I can remember how long it use to take to have crowns sent out and returned - the latest technology is a true plus for patients who want to minimize visits! When beginning the process, Dr Mooney kept me informed on what he was doing, what was next and asked if I was comfortable. When the process was completed in about 2-1/2 hours, everything fit perfectly. Along with his professionalism and sensitivity, the technician and front office people all combined to make this the best dental visit in my life! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. In January 2022 I had a crown replace in office. Less than 90 days later it cracked and broke. I was not in the state when it happened and had it replaced. When I realized it was the SAME crown Dr Sean replaced, I called their office to see what warranty they offer on it. I called 4 times and each time I was told someone would call me back by end of the day. Not one time did I get a call back. On the 4th try, I made it very clear I was not happy with the customer service I had been getting and needed an answer immediately as I am now getting charged interest and late fees. Another day passes by and I received a call from the office. I was told that "Yes" they warranty the tooth but only in their office. The woman I spoke with asked me why I didn't call to consult them and get an answer, which would have been come to our office. Clearly that wasn't an option as I was out of state and was not going to book a $900 round trip flight to come back and have them replace the crown. Bottom line, they are NOT customer service oriented, do not care about their work and patient referrals. Bottom line, I paid $1400 for a crown that was junk and paid another $1100 elsewhere to get it replaced. Save yourself some money and find a different dentist! read more

My wife was a new patient 3 months ago at Canyon Rim Dental for a teeth cleaning. We had all of her dental records sent over before her visit. She was able to actually get her teeth cleaned the day of the appointment. She was happy with the service, so she made me an appointment. Fast forward 3 months later because they were booked. We had all dental records sent over for me. Arrived at 3 pm and was taken back to a dental chair by a hygienist. She told me that they would take panoramic xrays and complete a dental history. I did not hear her say teeth cleaning, so I added, "And a teeth cleaning". She replied that they might do a cleaning"if they have time". I got up from chair and then spoke with office manager in front office, but she did not care to rectify the situation. I took this day off for a teeth cleaning and they expect me to come back another day for cleaning? This was so unprofessional. When my wife called office manager, they again, did not care to recttify the situation. I am a pharmacist and could never treat a patient like this. Customer, beware of this office. They have zero respect for your time. Would not recommend this dental practice because they did not care to make things right. It must have been too close to closing time maybe? read more

They are amazing in every way. From the assistants to the hygienist they are very well trained and professional. They take the time to truly get to know you and what your needing. They don't over diagnos like other dentists I've been too. I've been going here for the past 3 yrs and still after every treatment Dr. Whiting calls to see how I'm doing. Since I just moved from WA, I had to find a new dentist. I must say, I was super sad because I loved my old dentist and have lived in AZ before and have seen healthcare/dental offices rob people and oversell. So I jumped on Yelp to see what was good around me and found Canyon Rim. I never write reviews but I have to write a rave review of this office because they are simply THE BEST! Background: Old filling fell out, pain, couldn't eat on my left side. History of not being able to get numb...Urgent...Made an appt and they got me right in to see what was going on. Dr. Brian Mooney saw that I needed a crown (which they made in office and I am used to labs). I explained the numb issue and he broke it down to me with chemistry - acids and bases (I slept through Chemistry in HS so I said OK). What normally took 6-7 painful shots was accomplished in 2.5 NON PAINFUL SHOTS. This guy knows his stuff and should teach others how to do it. So, temp bonded crown put in place to make sure I didn't need a root canal for a couple weeks -instead of advising me to get a root canal and spend more money. This was a Friday. Saturday afternoon while eating lunch, crown fell off. Called him DIRECTLY ON THE WEEKEND, and he came in promptly on Sunday to help me - even though he had stuff going on with family. He even brought in an assistant that was busy on the weekend that wasn't available but she put that aside to assist him. That is how fantastic Dr. Brian and this office is! So they fixed me up and a couple of weeks later, he text me to check on me. How fantastic is that? So in conclusion, if you are looking for a Dentist, Dr. Brian Mooney is highly recommended from me. I would give him 1000 stars but yelp won't let me. I hope this is helpful. read more

My wife has been going to Canyon Rim Dental since we moved here 3+ years ago. So she carted me off after making an appointment. Everyone there was friendly, courteous and very helpful in explaining what needed to be done. Dr. Cook explained my options and the rest as they say is history. I will never tell anyone it was an enjoyable experience but I was well taken care of by everyone and their was absolutely "No Pain" during the procedure. Thanks!! The first couple of experiences were positive. But things changed rapidly as soon as they think you are comfortable. Then here comes the big print out with over $5000 in estimated dental work and the people in front office with there hand out and trying to schedule you in to start getting into your wallet. The typical Dentist Office. I thought they were different but it appears that I was wrong. I asked them if they could confirm the procedure with the insurance and they said it would take 9 weeks. All they wanted is to get us scheduled so that they start depositing the money. So my search continues. This will be my 3rd try since moving into the area. There are a lot of Dentist around now. My suggestion is move on from this office. They overcharge we had a procedure done for half the cost at another office. read more

After being forced to find a new dentist (apparently ours went out of business) and looking over yelp reviews for a dentist in my area, I decided to try canyon rim dental. Boy I am glad I did, they have GREAT office hours and I was able to get my son in on a Saturday so he didn't have to miss high school. I was impressed as soon as we walked in, the office is clean and new inside. The front office staff are very friendly and welcoming. I think that is a big deal and hard to find. They hygienist was also super nice and Dr. Sean was great with my son and explaining things to me about wisdom teeth extraction and options. My son usually has me go back on a first visit but this time he was fine so I think he felt comfortable with everyone immediately too. Didn't hurt that I got to watch house hunters in the waiting area :) So glad things worked out how they did and we ended up here. I definitely recommend this office to anyone looking! read more

Arrived and paperwork that I spent time completing and submitted online was not there. Staff said they don't have their system yet. Also needed to call insurance company. What a mess! Dentist seemed okay. Did cleaning and exam without even calling me back. Went back for xrays and I just happened to check. Who does that with younger kids, especially on first visit? Unorganized, right hand didn't know what the left was doing. Was a little upset when I left. May give another try during the week. Not feeling confident. read more
