This was hands down the worst car buying experience my family has ever had. I would strongly recommend avoiding Dennis Dillon if you value honesty, professionalism, or basic respect as a customer. The first red flag was their marketing tactic. They send you a card in the mail saying you are "pre-approved" for a specific vehicle and make it sound very important to bring that card into the dealership if that's the vehicle you want. That vehicle was exactly what we were interested in, so we brought the card in as instructed. When we arrived, they completely ignored it and acted like it didn't matter at all. It felt like nothing more than a bait tactic to get people through the door. From the beginning we made it clear that my wife specifically needed an SUV. Instead of respecting that, the sales staff pushed her toward a car simply because it was new, even though she repeatedly said she didn't care if the vehicle was new. The SUV option we were interested in was actually cheaper, yet they still pressured her into considering the more expensive car. It felt manipulative and completely ignored what we were actually there for. Things became even more unprofessional when the salesman, Alejandro, drove my wife to another Dennis Dillon lot in Boise in his personal vehicle. During that drive he hit on her and asked her to go downtown for drinks with him afterward. That made her extremely uncomfortable and was completely inappropriate behavior from someone representing a dealership. When she arrived at the other lot, it turned out the vehicle wasn't even the correct one she had been told she was purchasing. Instead of fixing the situation right then, they told her to just wait until Monday to figure it out. Over the weekend we decided we did not want to go through with the car and instead wanted to move forward with the Explorer SUV we originally came in for. That's when the pricing games started. The vehicle was listed for $17,999, but suddenly they were trying to sell it to us for over $19,000 even though the advertised price was clearly lower. They also told us earlier in the process that the down payment we had already put down was enough and that we wouldn't need to put more money down. When it came time to sign paperwork, they suddenly asked for even more money down. To make things even worse, they never canceled the loan for the vehicle that my wife never actually purchased. Because of that, a payment was taken out of her bank account for a car she never even ended up buying. Despite repeatedly saying they would "make things right," that issue still hasn't been properly resolved. The entire experience felt like constant pressure, upselling, and dishonesty from start to finish. This dealership does not seem to care about what the customer actually needs. The only thing that seemed to matter was pushing a sale and getting more money out of the deal. Worst dealership experience we've ever had. We will never return to Dennis Dillon and strongly recommend that anyone considering doing business here think twice before stepping foot in this place. read more

I recently purchased a used Honda Accord from Dennis Dillon Honda, and while the sales staff was polite during the process, my overall experience left me disappointed with the dealership's transparency and customer service after the sale. The first offer presented to me ended up being roughly $1,000 over the sticker price once doc fees, taxes, and an added "safety upgrade" were included. This upgrade was essentially just a GPS tracker system and brake-flashing feature when coming to a stop -- something I did not feel added meaningful value to the vehicle for the price charged. I also felt my trade-in was undervalued. The offer on my Scion came in at the very low end of its trade-in range, while another dealership, Kendall Value Lot, was willing to offer nearly double and was also willing to provide full transparency by sharing their inspection findings with me. Unfortunately, only four days after purchasing the Accord, the check engine light came on for an O2 sensor issue. I understand dealerships are not always obligated to help once a used vehicle is sold, and I was not asking for a free repair. I simply asked whether there was anything they could do to assist given that the issue appeared less than a week after purchase. The only option provided was to pay for repairs through their dealership service department at dealership pricing. Also for reference it usually takes about 30-100 miles for an O2 sensor to throw a code after it's been cleared so it's highly possible they were aware of this issue and cleared the code before I got the car Also they gave me two crushed key fobs that I had to pay for to get new coded ones. Literally held together with duct tape and masking tape. What frustrated me most was not necessarily the repair itself, but the lack of goodwill and transparency. I also requested access to the dealership inspection report on the vehicle and was told they would not provide it. I understand there is a difference between what a business is obligated to do and what is simply the right thing to do for a customer. I left feeling that customer support ended the moment the paperwork was signed. My experience at Dennis Dillon was beyond unacceptable. The store manager was rude, dismissive, and blatantly misogynistic. He talked down to me the entire time and insisted I "didn't understand," even though the information he was giving me was flat-out wrong. No one bothered to ask what I needed, what I could afford, or what I was actually looking for. Instead, they tried to shove me into a brand-new car while refusing to give me any real numbers. The whole vibe was shady, manipulative, and clearly based on the assumption that, because I'm a young woman, I wouldn't catch on. Their process felt crooked from start to finish, and they made zero effort to help me. I would absolutely never recommend this place to anyone. It was a complete waste of time and came across as nothing more than a scam. The best part? I went just 1 mile down the road and got approved for a car with an affordable payment -- the exact type of payment Dennis Dillon swore was "impossible." Brought in my motorcycle for some simple maintenance. They beagn work but needed to order a part. I asked them to proceed with the rest of the work but they replied that they need all parts in before work resumes. 2 more times they needed parts and each time they halted all work until part arrived. 7 weeks later it was ready for pick up. Bike was filthy, service mgr said it was recently detailed and collected dust (they just notified me the day before and could have easily wiped it down). Looks like it was left out in the rain from 3 days ago. I had to call them every week for an update. Other than calling to tell me the bike was ready, only once did they call me. I went there to purchase a used suv. They told me I wouldn't qualify for an $8000 suv and initially tried to sell me a Kia fwd car when I specifically told them I was interested in a 4x4 vehicle. They then made me wait for over an hour while they approved me for a $34k 20024 awd vehicle. Not 4x4, as I made very clear that was what I was shopping for. They told me I didn't qualify to choose my own vehicle so I told them they don't qualify to earn my business. Do not shop here for any reason. went to buy a 1st car for my 16yo. sticker price was 6,300. finance guy came out and the bottom line went to 8,500. told me I had to buy the blinking break light for almost 1k plus other non essential items added. what a joke, immediately left. We had a Honda rancher 4-wheeler that had a problem with the manual shifter. It would show a line instead of a gear randomly sometimes. But otherwise started and ran fine. We took it to them to hopefully get this fixed as it was becoming very annoying. They ended up taking a bunch of stuff apart and putting it back together, charged us close to $900 for the work. And now it won't even start or run. Wish we wouldn't have even taken it to them in the first place. Ridiculous! read more

The business now includes Dennis Dillon Honda. They sell used cars. They ran my credit report without my permission, TWIC. I had a very nice salesperson help me find a vehicle I could pay for without a loan. I told him I cannot have them run my credit because I am trying to repair it and would not be getting a loan. After I paid for the Chevy Cruze and left an employee ran my credit report. This was Thursday October 27. I got a notice from Experian this weekend. I went to the dealership this afternoon to ask them why they pulled my credit report since I was not getting a loan. The salesman didn't think they did it so he got the other guy, who never told me his name. When Iasked him why he said he always does that when he gets a check. I told him I asked the salesman if it made difference check or cash. He told me no on Thursday. The man today was rude and belligerent and proud of running my credit when I had been promised it would not happen. I already have to repair the vehicle after driving it less than 35 minutes. I did not ask them for any help with the repair. Itold him I would make a complaint to the Better Business Buresu because he didn't give a rip and didn't care how he treated his customers. So this afternoon he ran a 2nd credit report on me!! just to be obnoxious. He most certainly had no permission to do it again and he knew it!! Do not do buy a vehicle from Dennis Dillon on Middleton Rd and Caldwell Blvd. I am a senior on Social Security and my husband is now a disabled veteran do to injuries he got when he was in the AirForce and served in Viet Nam. First the prices have gone up a bunch more, second the service and parts department don't know anything about how your machine works, the guy who claims to be general manager of the place is very rude and has horrible customer service! I have had canyon honda do service of 2 atv for over 13 years, batteries, tires, and services. I and my family have bought road bikes and dirt bikes. when I called them about a battery that went bad in just over a year they told me what to try for over 6 months and once nothing worked I took it in honda canyon and they refuse to help me out. Spent over $500.00 in services and they would do nothing about the battery. At that time they told me Dennis Dillion purged all records from the past . NOT one person was in charge and NOT one person knew how to contact corporate. Needless to say for a $80.00 battery they lost all my and my family's business. They give me a number and I had to find out from others how to contact corporate. corporate would not even return an email. Being involved with business for over 50 years I have learned that the consumers are very important and you do everything possible to please them. Purchased a 2010 Honda Shadow Phantom from Canyon Honda and they have been the best dealership that has been a joy to work with. Sales guy was friendly and helpful, answered all of my questions, and even after the sale was done, when I've gone into the shop, everyone has been extremely helpful and friendly. I needed to get a new helmet and gentleman was helpful and made some great recommendations so I was able to come home and even though it's December, and cold, I still had a fantastic ride. First, let me recommend looking at the dates on their 5 star reviews. Most of them are before Dennis Dillon bought Canyon Honda. Then look at Yelps "not recommended reviews" that they hide from the public that they do not factor into their ratings. I've been doing business with Canyon Honda for over 10 years. They are the only Honda dealership close to where I live so pretty much the only game in town. It used to be a pretty good place so far as service went, with the exception of the always grumpy, never happy service manager. It always felt like it was my job to make him happy and that he was the boss. I always hoped I would get someone else as most of the rest of their staff were very decent to work with. Then Dennis Dillon bought them out. Prices doubled, and old grumpy just got grumpier. I now use the dealership in the next state, or drive to Boise, both of which are a huge hassle. I do most of my own service now. I belong to a motorcycle club and they all have pretty much the same opinion and will no longer go there. I have no idea why they treat me the way they do, but I'm done with Canyon Honda. read more

My bf and I are restoring my 79 Honda XL185 for ranch use. We hit a snag with the getting the pulse generator off and hoped the guys at Canyon could help out. We grabbed the Clymer's manual, a pad of paper and headed down Saturday afternoon. And the reason I say Saturday afternoon is because it was packed...there must have been 15-20 people in the place, with 8 people waiting in line. Thinking this was going to be while, I ditched the bf and started shopping around for cosmetic parts for the bike and also perused the large array of street and dirt bikes, atv's and scooters they had in stock. If I had a job, I'd be getting a bigger bike... one day. I wasn't shopping for 3-4 minutes, and two more guys came out onto the floor and started asking people if there was anyway they could help, and we were wisked away to the parts department, where we the full undivided attention of three well versed fella's in the world of moto parts. They answered our question, priced out a new part and we were on our way in no time (which was critical, since I had my dog locked in my truck.... with AC maxed out, car running) and pulling the cylinder head off the engine! The prices they quoted were cheaper than ordering off the net and paying shipping, and I'm all over supporting a local business, so I will be returning with a full shopping list of parts to get my rig back on the road! read more
