Canyon District Park is in a part of unincorporated Palm Beach County. The park is off Acme Dairy Road, west of Boynton Beach and Florida's Turnpike. It is behind behind the Canyon Town Center where you can find businesses for services, shopping, and dining.
This spacious park is 53 acres. Park amenities include the Canyon Amphitheater, thirteen exercise stations, three lighted multipurpose fields, and two picnic shelters. My favorite part of the park is the one mile exercise Willow Oaks Trail that goes around the perimeter of a picturesque lake.
Approximately half of the park is closed for a $29 million construction project that will transform Canyon District Park. The park expansion was approved to service the influx of people moving to this area. Currently 22.8 acres have been cleared to build four lighted baseball/softball fields, an all-abilities destination playground, two lighted sand volleyball courts, a picnic pavilion, a concession/restroom building, two stand-alone restroom buildings, an 800-square-foot baseball storage building, two batting cages, and 273 parking spaces. I am especially excited about the playground which will include equipment for children with special needs. These type of playgrounds are few and far in between. The new amenities are expected to be completed by early 2026. I will be back to update my review once the new amenities open. read more
