This was my first time at this park. I took my husband, Paul so that we could scout it out to see how handicapped accessible it is. We have a Community event coming up here and we wanted to see if it was easy to park and if there was a ramp. It turns out that we came late afternoon and we got a handicapped parking spot immediately. I used my ParkMobile app to pay for an hour of parking $2.85. Bathrooms were clean. There was a long ramp down to the beach with handrails on both sides. There was also a beach wheelchair available if necessary. There were park benches and a covered area to sit at. The breeze was heavenly. The concession area was closed until further notice. There was an area to wash off sand also. I look forward to returning and bring prepared to sit on the beach and check out the ocean. I did notice lots of beach goers having a lot of fun.

This is the PERFECT beach. -Cheap and plentiful parking -Free to get on the beach. Sure this is everywhere in Florida, but coming from NJ it's a treat every time -A boardwalk with a clean public bathroom -A snack bar with ice cream, cold drinks and a variety of other snacks -A beautiful playground. Perfect if you plan to take your toddler to the beach and then they end up hating the beach, lol -Gorgeous real estate. Take a walk up the beach to oogle over the $50 million dollar mansions -Beautiful landscaping If you are in the area and looking for an A+ beach this is all you need to know. Enjoy!

The biggest issue with this place is the trash. We saw trash up and down the beach where people had left their food bags. There was also a homeless guy sleeping on the park bench. We went there to watch the sunrise. While it was a beautiful sunrise, the beach looked nasty.

This is the jewel of Boynton's public parks. The park features barbecue grills, benches, a concessions building with snacks and beach chairs, restrooms, showers, a volleyball court and a boardwalk that overlooks the beautiful beach. Originally the space of the beach casino that was built in 198 and demolished in 1967, it was approved as the Walter A. Madsen Park in appreciation of former Mayor, Vice-Mayor and City Councilman Walter A. Madsen. It has been updated a number of times since then, including the restoration of the dunes, the build out of the boardwalk. In the mid 1990s, the boardwalk was rebuilt out of recycled plastic and then in 2012, it was improved again with the refurbishment of the restrooms. There is a large paid parking lot, lots of space for sun worship and several nice shady spots for enjoying a view of the beach. It was particularly windy today which was good for the kiteboarders but not so much with all the sand being blown around for me. [Review 14799 overall, 301 of 2021, number 1291 in Florida.]

Tucked in among the million dollar mansions of the Gods is a slice of heaven the city reserved for us mere mortals. Dedicated in 1984, this is Boynton's main beach and it has all of the best South Florida has to offer, perfect for swimmers and sun worshippers. There are two parking levels. A lower lot close to the street and a strip of spaces up the hill closer to the beach. Residents can purchase annual passes. Parking is enforced between 7 AM and 9 PM every day and it can be paid for through the park mobile app for $1.50 an hour. Lifeguards are on duty every day from 9 to 5. This beach is ADA accessible. As I was walking up I saw someone utilizing a beach wheelchair and the life guards have Mobil-mats to provide access to the sand. Other park amenities include the Turtle Cafe concession stand where you can get food as well as beach chair and umbrella rentals, picnic areas and pavilions with grills, a playground, and restrooms. In Match of this year the Army Corps of Engineers finished a restoration project leaving the beach wide and smooth. The sand lost to Hurricane Irma in 2017 was replaced. Also new to the park are FPL solar awnings which provide shade for cars and charging stations for electric cars. Sea turtle nesting season is March 1st to October 31st. There is a really cool statue of a sea turtle named Opus 14, not far from where they nest. If you want to help the sea turtles, aside from taking extra care not to disturb the nests, you can grab a bucket from the station by the restrooms and help keep the beach clean by picking up trash. I love the beaches in Palm Beach County. They are clean, have a ton of amenities, ample parking, and well trained life guards. Bring a picnic and it is a frugal way to entertain a family and enjoy a day out. It is always the perfect time to enjoy the beaches of South Florida.

Chaises, umbrellas, lifeguards & cool breezes. Parking is $1.25 per hour 12 hour max. Snack bar, showers, clean restrooms - just perfect! Nice coming off season when there is plenty of parking, chairs & sunshine. Enjoyed looking at the turtle Ness and seeing the babies working their way down to the ocean. Simon was very accommodating, he checked our beach pass and asked if we needed anything.

The beach is plenty big to spread out and enjoy the sun, surf and sand. The paid entrance at the guard house is gone and a new parking system is in place. There are pay kiosks on the top level of the parking area. The charge is $1.50 per hour. There is also a downloadable app to pay for parking too. The parking rates apply between the hours of 7am to 9pm. The life guards are patrolling from 9am to 4pm. There is a pretty good snack bar with many healthy food and beverage choices. The bathrooms are usually well stocked with toilet paper and soap. There is a beach chair service that charges $15 per hour for two padded lounge chairs with a small table and a big blue umbrella. (They also rent for a full day) I like this beach because it is well maintained and it is safe to spend the day here.

Oceanfront Park is a beautiful destination in Boynton Beach. The beach is outstanding, it's not at all crowded and there was plenty of parking, which was great. Aside from the beach there's a nice promenade where you can grab a bench and check out the waves and there's even a little playground for your little ones to run around in, if they get sick of the sand and waves. I saw in other reviews that there were some food concession stands near the beach, but I didn't see anything open unfortunately. We wound up here by chance! but I'm happy we arrived and got to experience this cool location. Four stars. I hope to be back soon.

I've never ventured into this park simply because it requires a level of commitment I was unable to concede to: it costs $10 flat- cash only!- paid in advance. I used to think this price was outrageous, but I completely did a 360 recently when I met a friend here. The beauty of paying for parking upfront is that we could stay as long as we wanted without ever needing to run back to the meter to add more money; what a relief! At least on the busy winter weekend when we attended, the parking lot was completely filled by late morning. Similar to Lake Worth Beach, there is upper and lower 'level' parking with a small grassy area in between. There are picnic tables, grills, and pavilions scattered throughout the park. This beach has a wheelchair-accessible ramp; if you need to transport your beach items via a rolling cart, this is the place to do it. I appreciated the shady pavilion at the top of the stairs where I could rest my children for a sec. It's SO NICE to have the 'cafe' also here in case you end up staying at the beach for way longer than you expected and need sustenance. You can even 'rent' boogie boards here. The beach and water were awesome! We will definitely be back.

Very nice park and beach area. You do have to pay $10 to park but it includes all the amenities like grills, beach access, bathrooms, picnic areas, etc. You can also rent umbrellas and lounge chairs but that costs extra. The beach is extremely clean, didn't see any trash at all. It seems very family friendly although there isn't much to do on the boardwalk part, just a small cafe and picnic area. I did really like that there are a lot of shaded areas on the boardwalk above the beach. This is great for people like me who don't like to be in the sun too long and get burned easily! The mansions are gorgeous and you can walk along the shore behind them to get a better view. I also saw some people snorkeling to get nicer shells than those on the beach already. There were lots of small shells but the bigger ones get trapped lower down due to a shelf underwater, at least when I was here which may have been higher tide.

Love this beach. It's a perfect place when you want A quiet beach day. Can usually find parking (meter parking) Clean bathrooms & snack bar (would be perfect if they had few alcoholic beverage options) .

This beach is a walking distance from our hotel, it's quiet, peaceful and not overcrowded. We walked there in the morning and not much people there. I believe you have to pay $10 to park and extra for renting chairs and umbrellas. The water is so clean, love to take a walk at this beach.

    Peace at it finest.

It was a great playground and my daughter used to play on it when she was a child. Through the years the playground began to decay and it become dangerous with nails sticking out of the wood. When the old playground was demolished part of the castle structure was saved and moved to another playground. The new playground is part of the 16 acre Town Square project, a mixed use development that will include town hall, library, fire station, cultural venter, children's museum, amphitheater, green space, public art, and much more. The new playground was designed to make it easier for parents to keep an eye on their kids, something that was difficult in the old playground. The playground has climbing structures and slides. I especially love the large butterfly wings and grasses that are inspired by nature. The kids looked like they were having a blast today on the playground during the Pirate and Mermaid Festival. When they redid the park I'm glad they decided to save the large Kapok tree which provides much needed shade.

(I don't like writing negative reviews, but this constructive criticism below hopefully can help…read moreimprove this playground one day). I was so excited to check out this newly built playground, and I could not have been more disappointed. There is just no way this playground was planned with input from experts or parents :( One of the main problems is that this 1 playground is actually separated into 2 playgrounds, 1 for younger children and one for older children. This would be fine if they were adjacent, but they are not; in fact, one playground cannot be seen from the other! Instead they are separated by a sidewalk (not fenced in and completely open to the road,) and due to a tall building and a slight corner turn, there is no way to see one playground from the other playground and vice versa. Therefore, 1 parent or caretaker cannot separate different aged children and watch both at the same time. Thus, the little playground is empty - because there is nothing here for older kids to do, while the older kid playground is chock full of little children, who are stuck with their older siblings. Not only are the littles using playground equiptment that is too old for them, several spinning apparatus consistently knocked over the younger kids once the piece started spinning. Also, the little playground is a bigger space than the older kids playground, despite all the kids being on the bid kid playground. Parent seating: there is no place for parents inside the fenced playground. There are benches placed outside of the fence for the parents, which is a terrible terrible practice. Now kids are falling over crying and their parents are on a bench outside of the playground. Lack of gate signs: The entrances to the gate of the playground are unmarked. Not a single sign or indicator or where or how to open the playground gate doors. Thus, it is very difficult to get in if you are a parent sitting on an outside bench, because the entire gate looks the same. Lack of signage: there are no signs on the little playground that faces the adjacent playground that indicates: name of playground, what the hours of the playground are, etc. Nothing! considering that the playground fence is physically attached to the back of the Old School Museum building, it is very unclear that this is in fact a public playground open to anyone, instead of a privately owned playspace. Also, there are no signs at each individual playground sharing the info that the other playground is around the corner. More poor planning: inside the big kids playground is a fenced storage area. This is not for kids, but for some reason it is actually inside of their fenced in playground. This makes absolutely no sense. Presumable some non-kid-friendly items live inside here, perhaps a trash bin or tools or chemicals? It would be so so easy for bored kids to climb this fence and go inside, or for someone to leave the door cracked or unlocked. I have never ever seen such strange planning for adult equipment to be kept inside a play space for kids. This playground is across from city hall and adjacent to municipal buildings, yet the only place for this hazardous stuff is inside the playground? Poor equipment: this playground may have been only a year old and already there is rust marks on most of the climbing material, one of the 2 very popular spinning pieces are broken. Also, the equipment is just not that fun. Having so many individual play pieces causes frustration and competition amongst the kids, and it would have made more sense to have communal pieces. This has to be some of the worst and unimaginitive play pieces I've seen of any playgrounds ever. And, no swings. And more: Lots of empty space inside, with zero nature, no trees or anything and no shade at all either.
