I recently ordered from the Canton pearl A D4 combo meal. They come with the 4 chicken fingers A egg roll An a few pork ribs in pork fried rice. This is my 5th bad meal there. I had called her told her about the meal an told her it would be the last time time I would go there. The meal was $8.91 with tax As you can see in the picture it's mostly rice there was no pork at all in the rice. Maybe a teaspoon of pork ribs and 4 chicken fingers. And the rice was a little dry.

One our way home one day, we passed the town of Lisbon Falls and I was starving. I have not eaten since I woke up that morning and most morning. I know breakfast is the most important meal :) I was busy at work all day (typical day in a pharmacy) that I did not make the time to eat something. I was not going to make it home without eating sommmethhing. Soooo I looked over to Dave, honey Im hunnnngrrry! no surprise there! He said of course you are! So I immediately look on Yelp , of course , where else would you go? I was hoping for Chinese. But in Lisbon Falls? I dont know. Out popped Canton Pearl. At this point, I just need directions to get there! Bingo , Yelp has that too. What a site! sorry! get to the food Lana! I was trying that day! believe me. Food: 5 * I ordered chicken chow mein. I did not want to try anything fancy tonight just the basic. I was surprised of how flavorful and delicious their chow mein was. In most restaurants chow mein are made out of some bean sprout and lots of sweet onions, cheaper ingredients. At Canton Pearl, they make it with nappa cabbage and all out of nappa cabbage, the way it should be. The portion was right and the fried rice equally good. The chicken pieces were thick and tender. We also ordered fried dumplings. The size of dumplings were small. It tasted ok but the filling was very fatty/oily. Dave ordered cashew chicken and he said it was good and Im sure it was. Canton Pearl won me over with their basic meal. It would have been a rating of 5* but I took a star off because of the surroundings. Her kids were doing homework on one of the tables which was fine I guess. One of the front window was broken, and it was put up with tape and cardboard. Oh well. Hey, I came here for the food and I will come back again!

Chinese dumplings within walking distance, sign me up. It's really amazing how consistent Chinese food is given the locale.

I ordered through DoorDash and the food came right on time and nice and hot. I ordered the General Tso Dinner Combination. The chicken was packed with flavor and delicious and is some of the best I've had around, I would definitely recommend this dish as it left me very satisfied! The rice and egg roll that came with it were decent. I also got the Boneless Spare Ribs which were delicious and the steamed dumplings which were decent. Not the best Chinese I've had but I will definitely be going back there since it's probably the best spot in the area if you don't want to drive all the way to Portland for Chinese food.

Has the food flavors tipped the scale towards the bland side? Maybe - one visit won't tell - but we're over spiced and seasoned anyway - blandness might just be what we need for a stint, give the tired taste buds a little vacay. My Pork Chop Suey did fit that a bit - but it saved San Francisco - way back when it was worth saving - now I wish no less than a deep dive into the dystopian abyss of Atlantis upon it's highways and byways. Inside is a fair attempt to recreate the Chinese experience thru appearance - there was effort taken to capture a little imagination of us Americans. The cusine reminded me a bit of my grandmother's Hungarian goulash -red & white onion & green and red bell peppers (it's available in Beef) all of which could have been cooked a bit longer to release their natural juices. In slight contrast with Lo Mein, Chinese foods more common dish, Chop Suey is made with rice or noodles - Americanized with the multitude of additional ingredients pea pods, chopped carrots, mushrooms & sprouts in a sweet thin glaze lurking below and giving a little float to the rice I poured in - a little pinchy blast of salt and lil red pepper flake with the cooking might just have been seasoning enough.

We all got combos. The General Tso's chicken was the nicest surprise - nice quality chicken breast meat. I enjoyed my Thai Fried rice, however the flavors were a bit dull, however, I still enjoyed it. The Vegetable Gyoza was nice and flavorful. The dumplings were plump and delicious. Inside, was dark and didn't look like the dining area was open. When we walked in, we were acknowledged our order was processed and we were on our way. It was a very transactional experience. it's nice there was a parking lot. I might visit again, if someone is unable to eat MSG.

I'm not paying $25 for old spinach that you're calling wilted. We saw a little farmers market thing going on in a little park on the walk over to Joshua's but it had ended by the time we realized our mistake and tried to walk back. Then we spot this little hole in the wall. It looked like it was once a gas station Asian food restaurant. The front of the building read: Chinese, Japanese and Thai food. We like all of those things so we headed over and took a chance. They no longer offer table service, but there was a sign that said you're welcome to eat your food inside, so we did. The menu was like any other Asian restaurant, all the staples were there, the lunch specials that include your eggroll and soup, choice of fried rice or white rice. So we ordered a couple lunch specials. And two are surprised it was insanely good. It wasn't like fine dining Asian food, it was more like comfort Asian food. My pad Thai was real pad Thai, it was sweet and it was sour, it was the spice level I asked for! It did not taste like spicy dried peanut butter rubbed all over rice noodles. There was a fantastic sauce to it. The miso soup I ordered was light and refreshing, yet comforting, like something your mom would make. The outside of this building looks like it's going to make you sick, ignore that part and go inside.
