Went with a customer for dinner. Food was good. We had their filet w port wine reduction. Filet was cooked appropriately but the reduction was overly sweet. The same can be said for the Jack Daniels sauce on the ribeye my customer had. Twice baked potatoes were excellent. Accompanying salads were ok. Bit pricey all considered. read more

The Canton is an institution but I had not been there since I was a youngster. But man oh man it did not disappoint. We had the toasted ravioli for the appetizer, my wife had the baked orange roughy topped with crab stuffing and asparagus. I had the marinated ribeye with twice baked potato. Both came with a nice side salad as well. My wife was very pleased and my ribeye was about as good as I've ever made and I'm a master steak griller. Cannot wait to go back! read more

The wife and I were here for our Valentines Day dinner and we were not disappointed at all. The wife had the 14 oz. New York Strip w/baked potato, both cooked to perfection - tender and juicy! I had the 10 oz. Ribeye (medium rare)w/baked potato, also cooked to perfection! We both brought enough home for another meal as well. When he showed them to the OWNER she said to him "There is nothing I can do about it. They come breaded (they were naked wings people) that way and our cooks don't have time to check them." Our first time hear after several people recommended it. We were greeted warmly and served drinks right away. The menu has daily chef specials. I ordered a spicy strop steak with sautéed shrimp in a jalapeño butter. It was quite spicy but cooked to perfection. My husband had prime rib and it was melt in your mouth delicious! First trip to the Canton INN in its new (to us) location. Ordered corn soup and broccoli soup (only had one order of corn soup available). It took a long time to get the soup which was VERY thick (could eat with a fork) for a cream soup. Both were below average. Ordered Lamb chops and Steak strips. The Lamb Chops were ok, but would not order again, the Steak was VERY TOUGH. We could not eat it. The Manager was kind enough to remove from our bill. Our waitress seemed to be new and did not know what to do, like bring our soups out together or one at a time, ask if we wanted bread, We thought she was new. We did notice another waitress that was very attentive and appeared to understand what she needed to do. read more

We have here many times with my husbands parents. I like my filet mignon medium to medium well. After several experiences with extremely rare streaks. I requested it to be butterflied. I was told the chef wouldn't do that. I asked for well done then. It came RAW. Tonight I asked again and was told "the way our steaks are cut we can't". Whaaaat?!? So I asked for a different cut and she said that's a difficult steak to cook the way you like it. I gave up and ordered fried shrimp. My husband who likes his beef rare ordered the strip "too hard to cook through" and it came medium/medium well. Seriously, I think they just don't how to cook steaks to order. And what happened to pleasing the customer? Hash browns were partially burnt and I still have a bad taste from them. Over priced and under delivered. The shrimp was ok. read more

Excellent! I had been wanting to try this place for a while now but just hadn't had the time to make the 40 minute drive over to Hillsboro. Finally tonight we made the trip. I was definitely worth it. Service was excellent. Out waiter was very friendly and efficient. We both ordered the 1lb king crab legs. It came with a salad and potato. I had the twice baked, he had the au gratin. Everything was delicious! Salad was fresh and crisp. Crab legs were flavorful. My twice baked potato was creamy and plentiful. His au gratin potatoes were cheesy and baked to perfection. I had a few vodka tonics which were mixed quite well. He had the blue moon on draft and a whiskey. This place is fine dining in a casual atmosphere. Just how we like it. Obviously, getting the crab dinners was pretty expensive but the menu has a variety of items for all budgets. Quite disappointing. We asked for the appetizer "special Italian Nachos" but they were out. It was 5:45 on a Friday??? Instead we opted for the seafood ravioli. They were allegedly served with "drawn butter," but whatever they brought tasted more like liquid crisco. Didn't look like butter and had no flavor, save for a mild oil tinge. The potato soup was good, but not great. Spouse ordered the seared scallops as usually. They were good, but a bit bland. Slightly undercooked, but not fishy. Just bland. I ordered Ribeye & crablegs. No drawn butter, no bowl for shells, no small fork, the legs were warm, not hot, just barely warm. No bread ever came. The ribeye was similar quality and flavor as you get at bonanza. Not much flavor, but it was cooked a proper medium. Overall a pretty disappointing visit. We've always had better luck. We will try again in hopes of improvement. read more

Absolutely phenomenal. Quite possibly my favorite restaurant of all time. I have never had a bad meal here. I typically go for the seared sea scallops or 24oz lobster tail. Always have to get the Calamari. Steaks are delicious, and some of the best fried chicken I've ever tasted. Everything is exceptional. Also, try the Italian margarita. Very disappointed. My husband and I spent $70.00 for two meals and it was horrible didn't even finish them. We got the alligator tail as an appetizer and it was some kind of ground up processed nugget that was horrible didn't even taste like alligator. The salads were skimpy. The entrees were lamb fries that looked like the remains left in the bottom of the boxes they came out of:; so thin hardly any meat and were cooked so crisp all it was crunchy pieces. We both ordered the augraton potatoes and the potatoes were still hard. The bus boy had his jeans hanging off his butt so all you saw was his underware. This place has really gone down hill. Heard a lot on Facebook about the Canton Inn , so we made the hour trip down to see what the hype was all about. The parking lot was full and the bar area had good music playing from a live band. We went to the main dining area and were greeted by a nice gentleman who promptly found us a table. Our waitress was nice and the menu extensive. Ordered the pork belly appetizer which was part the chef daily recommendation menu and not part of the regular menu I think. It was pretty delicious, especially the sweet chili sauce that came with it. I ordered the steak and ribs with steak fries, which was a ribeye and half rack of ribs, it was ok. Not bad in anyway, but not amazing like I had hoped. Maybe I had overhyped it in my mind, but I felt it was comparable to Texas Roadhouse. The steak needed a seasoning kick of any sort and the ribs were exactly like Texas Roadhouse. My wife on the other hand absolutely love her pride rib, which I agree was pretty tasty. She also loved the king crab legs she ordered. Her sweet potato soufflé, although not visually pleasing, was very delicious as well. My wife can't wait to go back and try the humongous lobster tail and I will probably go with the prime rib. I also hope to spend more time in the bar area as the atmosphere seemed really cool. read more

Had dinner 7/26/19. I had a party of six. For apps, we order seafood stuffed toasted rav's and onion rings. Onion Rings were great. Deep fried toasted raviolis were over battered and took away from the seafood stuffing and I would not recommend. For dinner, deep fried shrimp, chicken liver and pasta dishes were good. We had three steaks order and all were cooked to the desired temperature and all were tender but they had no flavor. It tasted like they were sous-vide with no seasoning. Service was good. I have eaten at this restaurant 3 prior times with great dinners and not sure I will go back until I hear better reviews. read more

What a great find! Someone told me this place was great so, I went on a Saturday. The place doesn't look like much from the outside but, it's very nice inside. This is one of those out of the way places that you tend to want to find but seldom do. Had onion rings and they serving is Huge and they wear great. Had stuffed mushrooms as well and they were flavorful and tasty. My meal was steak and it was hand cut and a BIG portion and the twice baked potato was definitely worth the extra 2 bucks! Overall would definitely recommend and the staff was friendly and attentive. A worthwhile experience! read more

I am here to revise my review. First off, the owner is incredibly snobby as if you owe her something even though you are the customer. The food the first time around was okay, but the second time it was rubbish. The dinner ware is mucky and gross, the silverware has food on it as does the napkin. I ordered, and given that i mainly review bistros with promise in Chicago-NYC, i do love to travel and see family that live in Litchfield IL. My suggestion is if you want some good steaks for a WAY better price than this overpriced hunk, take yourself to Lomas Del Sol. Why one star? I easily would have given even lower rating if it was possible, but there are no words to describe how un satisfied this establishment was. I would like to thank the owner for her time and food, but I will never return. Oh yeah, TERRIBLE parking. wore my Louis Vuitton Shoes and had to immediately polish them. Spaces are sketchy as well. Definitely not a great place. The bar? surely that can't be bad, right? Well, thanks to the bartenders, he drinks are good, the atmosphere is great, yet, the alcoholic beverages are not the best. Though taste isn't usually the first thing on one's list, on mine, i found that the drinks are just...okay? I'd give 0.5 stars to 0.38 stars based off of competing restaurants in the area.
