I could have made this type of Mac and cheese from a box at home. The burgers are dry and not juicy. I won't be returning.

Gave this place a try based on Yelp reviews. Friday all you can eat fish was delicious! We'll definitely be coming back.

We come here every so often and have always liked the food. Today we get here early about 4 pm to…read morebeat the rush. The dinning room wasn't very full but when they seated us they took us to what used to be a patio. Now it's enclosed and there is a bar a stage and plenty of seating. My problem was the fans that were blowing made it difficult to have a conversation with my wife across the table. I told the server it was almost too noisy and was having a hard time hearing him talk. He said he'd talk louder. That didn't really fix the problem. Not real sure why we were seated in this area because the dinning room had plenty of space. We had a little trouble communicating our order because of the noise. As I stated a couple times to our server. I communicated I have trouble hearing in areas like this and he just kept talking louder. Anyway we finally got our food ordered and went for a salad in the next room. My wife even commented on the empty tables and asked my why I thought they put us in that big room. Idk? So we get our salad and it was good. Kretzers had a decent salad bar. One of the reasons we like the place. I ordered a 12oz ribeye rare with a baked potato. Wife got chicken strips with gravy and mashed potatoes and gravy. When the food arrived everything looked good and the server said some things that I have no idea what. Even the wife didn't know. I go to open the butter for my pita and it's not butter. It's an oil whip. I do not eat fake butter. It's harmful. To find out they have no butter in the place. So I tell my server of the situation and looks at me like he has no idea what to do. Turns and walks away. So I eat my steak and stare at the baked potato. I am a recent cancer survivor and have no ability to make saliva. So I needed the butter to make the potato edible. Or even gravy or something. I told the server but I don't think he heard me correctly or didn't know what to do. It was so loud with the stupid fans. So while I do recommend Kretzers and like their steaks and crab legs and salad bar. I don't recommend their new addition to dine in. And if you want real butter bring your own. I was a little disappointed with our experience this time around.

Kretzers is always very good ! No complaints. We were born and raised in the area and when we come…read moreback we eat here at least once sometimes twice.

One of the oddest cheeseburgers I can recall ever ordering. While I admire the chef's /…read morerestaurant's enthusiasm to do something exotic, here, it didn't work. It's about execution. The meat was quite odd, both in consistency and taste. If I had to guess, they took reject pieces from their steaks and ground them up, perhaps several days ago? You couldn't cut through it with a fork. It had a strange taste to it. It wasn't at a warm or hot temperature and tasted stale. The onions that they added were delicious, but way too minuscule in size and bulk to have any taste impact. The bun was ordinary, despite their raving and reliance on its quality, and it being a Kaiser roll. The burger lacked customary garnish. Why I order cheeseburgers at high end establishments? In part? I like the quality thick beefsteak tomato slice and crisp, fresh lettuce. Here? No garnish at all, just a patty with a little cheese and onion. If the patty was fresh black angus and juicy, without the weird consistency and taste present here, and had they lavished it with mountains of similar onion and more cheese? --The risky and odd approach to making a cheeseburger might have proven successful. For this cheese to suffice, it, too, would have needed to be more pungent in taste, and abundant in presence. You could barely taste it. The mashed potatoes were quite good but way too salty. I literally crunched down on some salt crystals. That's when you know there's inordinate salt. Weird service and rock hard chairs made this bizarre stop on the way to St. Louis/ Denver more painful to savor. What irritates me was that I had to order a Caesar salad just to obtain roughage. And when you take the $30 for the salad and burger combined into account? That's a lot for such an odd experience. In summary, anyone who watches and implements the Gordon Ramsay Fword cheeseburger recipe on YouTube will end up with a vastly superior cheeseburger. In this town, while I am visiting only, from what I've read and seen in reviews, I'd recommend instead the frosty mug for basic food along these lines. A $24 burger better be pretty darned special to attract this sort of tab. This was just weird, not great. Sorry, no photos.

The prime rib, which was a special that night, my dog would not eat. There was nothing but fat and gristle and extremely thin cut. You could tell our server knew it was bad as he never returned asking us about the meal, just showed up to give us the bill. Quality and professionalism which was there in the past is gone. Every aspect that brought us back has disappeared so we will not be returning.

We went on a Mother's Day, the week after the kids wanted to treat me and I chose this place…read morebecause I had been wanting to try it. We had 4 appetizers lamb chops, mussels, crab cakes and quail. The lamb was delicious but we didn't like the mussels which are normally a favorite but they were too dry and chewy baked and some crumb topping and the little sauce underneath was not helping. Crab cakes were just ok again the sauce was just odd and didn't complement the dish. The quail we weren't a fan of. The Caesar salad was amazing and the pumpkin apple leek soup was delicious as were the flaky croissants. Some had the blackened sea bass and loved it. I had a steak with cognac cream sauce, again the sauce was off putting and over powered the filet. The other steak was topped with their version of an Oscar sauce that had Swiss cheese and crab meat with a tarragon cream sauce and it's offered on most this at an up charge of $15 or so. Honestly the place is lovely and the service was pretty good. I think we would go again armed with the knowledge of ordering everything without any sauce or getting it on the side so it wouldn't ruin anything. We're all fairly adventurous eaters and we all agreed on the sauces issue. We went early so it wasn't crowded and it was quiet and had nice decor of an older Victorian style house with a few too many stairs that again I think I would ask to be seated on the entry level so I only have to climb the stairs to the porch which is shady and nice.
