Went for dinner ordered fried mushrooms and potato skins for appetizers the mushrooms looked like they opened a can of mushrooms and fried them and potatoe skins were so overcooked couldn't eat had there catfish dinner it was cold and overcooked fish was rubbery wife has steak said it was not bad but over priced read more

JT's has great food and the best wings and meatballs in Southern Illinois. We try to eat here every one to two weeks. I love the smothered chicken. The chicken is grilled, covered in cheese and smothered with veggies. A wonderful keto meal with off the charts flavor. Add on the veggie of the day, kale or Brussel Sprouts or cabbage and the house salad and you have a wonderful low cal. Meal. My wife loves the naked wings and the meatball pasta dish that has massive meat balls and the best tomato sauce in the area. The service is usually great, always friendly but definitely sometimes getting slim since Covid hit. The restaurant is divided with warm friendly tables around the bar on the left side and more family oriented with booths and tables on the right. Amazing food and service! We had the pleasure of dining here tonight. Our table started off with the Birds Nest (homemade potato chips covered with cheese, bacon, scallions, sour cream & roasted red pepper sauce. So delish and huge! We had the fried chicken, beef Alfredo, smothered chicken, and the Philly sandwich. Everthing was perfectly cooked and huge portions. For dessert we took 2 pieces of Oreo and Nutter Butter homemade cheesecakes with us. They were amazing! Well worth the drive!!!!! Anytime you guys want to move back to Louisville KY, let us know. Not too long of a wait to get food but when I got a simple order of Naked Chicken wings I noticed they looked under-cooked. I cut open a few of the Drummies only to find blood. At that point I was disgusted and done with this establishment. After 20 minutes the owners mother not the owner came over to apologize and take the order off the bill as she said she saw the blood running out of the chicken wings. Explaining she had highschool kids cooking her son's menu! Where is the world is her son the owner???? I watch him mingle around to local people he knows and raises his chin when he walks.by our table like he's too good to apologize or even say anything! Worthless without your mother who you should give a raise too, taking care of your cooking issues and your inability to manage your kitchen staff! This is my first and last time going there. We get there no one is in front of us and it takes 5 minutes or more to be seated. Then see says that it will be a few minutes ( not that many people in the place ) so it takes ten minutes to get some to take are order. Ok I can deal with that. It takes another 40 minutes and they come to are table and say it will be a little while we are waiting on fish. The people who sat after us done eat and almost done. At least I didn't have to pay for my water and lemonade. I think it had to do with more of the color of are skin then anything. read more

Absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend the prime rib or smoked wings. It is by far one of the best meals I've had in a while.

Found out about this place on Facebook and saw their posted special for yesterday. Drove there and found the place easy enough. Went in and was seated promptly. The place was full of people and had a nice vibe to it. Started to order the special but was told "the steaks didn't come in yesterday." If so, why didn't they take the post off FB? I ordered catfish instead and it was very good. I had a baked potato but it wasn't even lukewarm. I struggled through that as I didn't have time to send it back. All in all, the food and service was decent. Would have preferred a baked potato hot enough to melt the butter. I'll give it another shot on another night sometime. read more

New place in town for all you locals it's the former walkers tavern. Great food and reasonable. They have a smoker outside and serve all the meats grilled and made to order. On Fridays they have build your own pasta for one price. I really enjoyed this place and will be coming back soon. My advice is if you're coming get there early, parking is pretty crowded. read more

What is this place doing in Ziegler!!! Ill tell you what it seems like, it seems that someone that loves food and wanted open a restaurant finally did. The smoke in the parking lot alone had me drooling, and sure enough they didnt disappoint. Specials were pork steak and baby back ribs. Keeping it simple? Yeah because then you can perfect it. Staff was constantly moving and still very attentive for such a full house. Only thing I was a little dissapointed in was that they dont do baked beans, my favorite BBQ side. Mashed potatoes were recommended by server who mentioned them being a house favorite, and i can see why they were creamy, well textured, and very fluffy. Entree was enormous. A one pound pork steak covered the plate and the homemade sauce is perfectly caramelized upon one of the most tender pork steaks I've ever encountered give this place a try small business owner doing it right read more

We were in the area for a high school baseball game. The reviews looked promising and we were not disappointed. I ordered the brisket sandwich, my husband ordered the ribeye sandwich, both came with fries. My sandwich was overflowing with tender slices of well smoked brisket. The smoke flavor was rich and not overpowering. My husband said his steak was cooked perfect, tender and tasty. The fries were fresh and crispy with a fresh potato taste. My sister ordered the wings with bone in. She wanted the sauce on the side and was easily accommodated. Her wings were enormous, but tender and moist. The sauces are made on site. She ordered bourbon sauce that came with small pieces of pineapple in the sauce. I tried the house sauce which had a good balance of sweet and zing. The waitress was friendly and attentive, even the owner came around to check on things. We will be returning and I'm looking forward to trying several other items that looked interesting on the menu. read more

I really hate giving a mom and pop local business a bad review, but I am just going to be honest. My wife and I both ordered the brisket with a baked potato, side salad and a coke with fried mushrooms as an appetizer. The waitress was rushing us to order and this was our first experience at the restaurant so we were not familiar with the menu. We asked for more time and she came back about 30 seconds later, twice The meal came out before the appetizer. The portions were very small, the brisket tasted like it had been smoked days ago, it was very tough which is usually a sign of microwaving since brisket it such a fat piece of meal it is usually very tender, not in this case. The baked potato was obviously microwaved because the skin was not crisp. I drank my soda and sat it on the edge of the table for a refill which I never received. My wife ordered onion rings as her side that literally had no flavor at all, I mean you could not even taste the onion. I am very sorry to the owners for this poor review but I have to be honest, the best part of the meal was the appetizer that came out after the main course. I never got my refill and my wife did not finish her meal because her brisket was all fat and what little meat it had was so tough it was hard to chew. Maybe it was because it was a Tuesday night and not very busy , but our meal and service were far less that good. read more

Like many other people I read all the reviews. This food is crap. Fried chicken was tasteless and way overcooked, my steak was overcooked and burned, The spaghetti was nothing to brag about.
