Great food. Service as OK. We were first in to be seated and almost the last to have our order taken and be served for lunch.

Fantastic pizza! We got a Firenze pizza and it had the best salami and sausage on it. The sauce was so fresh too! I had a glass of red wine, one made for their restaurant. It was smooth. Great find! The tiramisu was delicious. The cream was super smooth and it had just the right amount of coffee flavor on the Ladyfinger. Loved it so much. We plan to go back tomorrow. Our server was informative, friendly and helpful. He absolutely made our meal wonderful. Though the restaurant was busy. It was not too noisy and there is enough room between tables to either have an intimate conversation or visit with the neighboring people. We sat next to some lovely gentlemen from Australia and spoke with them a bit, but mostly were able to talk quite quietly with one another. Stopped here the other night looking for a decent meal around 10:30pm on a Monday. The manager informed us their kitchen had closed, but they could still serve us some hot and delicious pizza! "SOUNDS GOOD!" We said. The pizzas were absolutely delicious, probably the best we'd had in our time in Italy (previously in Milan, Venice). We ordered: the Cappuccetto Rosso and one of their Biancaneve pizzas. We sat in their outside patio seating just across from the Basilica; they played acoustic covers of some great English hits, they had some lights and plants to create this comfortable, easy-going atmosphere around us, and it was very neat and tidy as well. We are so, so happy we found this place. I'd recommend it, and I'd definitely go back if we weren't leaving the next day!! read more

BEST LASAGNA EVER! We were in Florence for a week and absolutely loved this place. We first went on Wed late night around midnight after a delayed train got us home late. We were starving and went looking for a place to get some food. Even though it was late they let us order lasagna and bologna spaghetti. We took it to go and had the best customer service as we waited. Just kind staff all around . Back home we would have been met with so much rudeness for wanting food that late at night . The lasagna was the best I had in all Florence! (And believe me after eating out for a week I tried a lot of lasagna) We loved it so much that on our last night in Florence we decided to go back and dine in. Again met with exceptional customer service. They gave us complimentary prosecco because we had to wait 5 min for them to clear a table outdoors. I ordered the lasagna again, and again it was amazing. My husband got steak. We ordered an appetizer which was much like spinach artichoke dip in the states but authentic and it was chefs kiss. Sooo delicious!! The house red wine was so good that I'm dying to find a wine like it here at home. And if this place couldn't get any more amazing, they gave us complimentary melonchello shots at the end of our dinner. I can not wait to go back to Florence and visit this wonderful restaurant. I told my husband it was the best way to say goodbye to Italy and enjoyed our night out so much. If you could t tell, i Highly recommend this place. On a hot June day, who could resist their hand sketched sign with a snowman and "we have cold air conditioning inside" ?! Food & pasta here were good, and the fried pumpkin blossom appetizer was a unique treat. 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, bottle of water and 5 euro service charge = 55 euro but that is the standard in the center of Florence. We stopped for a quick lunch after having a day of sightseeing. I ordered one of those tourist meals that comes with a starter a main dish and dessert. I opted to have soup that is typical of Florence which consist on beans and bread into this soup which makes it very dense I actually really enjoyed it. But after that I was too full to eat my entrée LOL Which was roasted chicken with salad, and it was surprisingly well seasoned. I had been complaining to my husband that meat doesn't seem to be seasoned in Italy, which was a disappointment for me. I can't understand allowing you to experience the flavor of the meat itself rather than dress it up with lots of herbs and what not, but give me the herbs and what not and any day of the week! that is just my personal preference. I'm Latino, we don't season, we over season!! For dessert I had a small cup of tiramisu, which was the perfect portion to end that very hearty meal. Service was OK, food took a little long and when it came, it came all together which was a little bit problematic because our table was very small and we couldn't fit all those plates but we managed. First and foremost, a WOW experience when it comes to the staff. They staff all offer friendly service, they work as a team with a chemistry which gives Canto De'Nelli a great vibe. The seven of us enjoyed an authentic Italian Family style dinner orchestrated by the one and only "Cosmo," as he weaved between the seven plus tables he was serving, not missing a beat, and what a positive and friendly personality. Started off with beverages and cocktails (Cosmo's, Moscow mules), wine, and appetizers Scottona, pear salad (insalata Del cortadina), calamari, bruschetta. Continuing with our meal we equally enjoyed; Rigatoni Pommodoro Salad Contadina Caesar Salad with a side of grilled vegetables. Pappardelle Bolognese all dishes satisfied our pallets. As this was our last night in Florence, we could not have brought our visit to a better close, than enjoying a meal at Canto De'Nelli with many good memories made with the excellent food and staff. We finished a lap of the central market, and even after trying a few foods in the market we needed lunch. So glad we stopped here. My family of four order bruschetta, a pizza, and an order of the spaghetti bolognese with a couple of rounds of drinks. Service was attentive, although items arrived sporadically and out of the order we expected (water didn't come until over halfway through the meal). The bruschetta was refreshing, the pizza was better than most other places, and the bolognese was as good as homemade. Inside was air conditioned, which was great after a hot day outside. Excellent food, atmosphere, and customer service! Our first night in Florence after arriving from the train station and checking in, we walked the streets looking for dinner with no particular place in mind. We were drawn to the restaurant by welcoming invitation by one of the employees who greeted us as we walked by. It was our first impression of Italy, and particularly of Florence. What a great representative. They happily explained the menu and provided us with excellent service and the food was outstanding. The restaurant interior is charming and the whole experience was just terrific. At the end when paying, I mentioned to the manager how much we liked everything and he told me to go back to my seat and wait for him. In a fe moments he came to our table with Limoncellos on the house. I'd heard of these from a cooking show but had forgotten about it. What a treat! We make it a rule to not go to the same restaurant twice when traveling so we get a more varied experience. We broke this rule and ended out last night's stay with our final dinner in Italy back at Canto de' Nelli! read more

Came here for lunch. The restaurant is a few blocks away from the Duomo (Florence Cathedral). I had the penne with meatballs, and my wife had the Petto di Pollo (grilled chicken breast) with spaghetti. Both the meatballs and the spaghetti were delicious. Their price is also reasonable. read more

Decent lunch, and we were fortunate to have a cute two person window table that looked out towards the piazza. It was nice to just people watch and relax while we enjoyed our time in beautiful Florence. We tried the penne pasta and had a nice wine. The view of Basilica San Lorenzo is a 10 but the food was less than mediocre. I got the truffle special - bread with truffles on a gluey layer of cheese that was unnecessary and gnocchi with cream and truffles that could have been so much better. I had a version in Rome with homemade gnocchi that was heavenly. Might be ok for a coffee while enjoying the view but I'd skip the food. read more

My brother and I went here for dinner. We saw the 13 euro special and decided to go there for dinner. I got the big salad, bruschetta. Salad was terrible and not tasty at all. The bruschetta was meh. The tiramisu was rather tasty. My brother got a spaghetti and roasted chicken. The spaghetti tasted really good (according to my brother). I tasted it as well and it was good. But then apparently the chicken was dry, but the potatoes were really tasty apparently. Then we for a bottle of chanti which was decently ok. Overall, it was ok. Nothing amazing. Wonderful dinner in a lovely setting, and with fantastic service. We had delicious Tuscan soup with shrimp, mushroom risotto and pasta, among other gems. Rude and dismissive service. We stopped in for possible early dinner. Waiter delivered menus then walked away and stood in doorway. I motioned that we wanted to order drinks. He came over, took our drink order and then walked right back to his position standing in the doorway. Reasonably priced lunch slightly outside of the main tourist drag but still touristy. Only saw other Americans here. The lunch special was the reason we stopped in, 13€ for a personal pizza, salad, and dessert. Pizza was good but we were a bit spoiled by some amazing pizza in Rome the day before. As New Yorkers we're blessed with some amazing pizza back home so our standards are pretty high for what we would consider "amazing" pizza but it wasn't bad at all, the meats were nice and greasy and the crust not half bad. I have no clue how this place got 4 stars reviews! This was our worst experience in Florence. The waitress was so rude. I ordered Rosso and my kids didn't want anything to drink; she immediately rolled her eyes! We are tourists and don't speak Italian, but it doesn't mean we deserve your eye-rolling face and of course I won't leave any tips to this kind of service! The pizza doesn't have flavor ( other than tomato sauce); lasagna was dry and pork loins was so dry that I had to swallow with wine.
