Cosy new jig here. Happy hours are Monday -Friday 3-6pm. They have wine tastings each week that I hope to one day enjoy. There's a corking fee of $10 for wine, and $1.50 for beers. If you'd rather take any to go they are sold at retail price. Haven't had any food here yet, but the small plates they have look and smell great. I'm in love with their grapefruit mule, it's refreshing with a bitter and sour touch. Give it a try even if you aren't partial to grapefruit! So I've tried the calamari and the stuffed peppadews. Both were awesome. The calamari was crispy, had a touch of spice from hot sauce and topped with Gorgonzola cheese. The peppadews are delightful. I'd recommend either of these. We also ordered some focaccia bread with Rosemary and olive oil. All these came with cheese so needless to say I was happy. read more

Love having a great wine selection just around the corner. Their small plates are so good too. The meatballs and cheese plate are my go to items. I just don't like to see it so crowded during the current pandemic, but they are practicing social distancing and masked up. I'm just a germaphobe. A disclaimer here, this is a small plate restaurant, and generally I am not a fan of small plate restaurants. If you are into that type of restaurant, the food here is very good; however, I can just not justify a higher rating given the prices. If you prefer being full from your order, and have a normal to slightly larger appetite like me, probably not your place. They seem to have a fairly large wine list, and being a bottle shop have many additional options available. They have a fair draft beer selection which seems to have enough options for anyone to find a craft beer they will like. What appeared to be a full bar was also available. We were here for my fiance's birthday, and my fiance's parents wanted to start off with some appetizers, the Cantine Pizza and Baked Brie. The Cantine Pizza is not an actual pizza, but crust with lots of veggies on top. The Baked Brie was good, just not something I usually go for. My real issue here came with the small plates. My fiance ordered the short ribs, which thankfully was a large enough portion which I could finish after my meal was good, but nothing outstanding. I ordered the Seared Sea Scallops, and was presented a plate with three (3) scallops. When the waitress was bringing out the other meals I was waiting for the rest of my meal to come out. What was even more appalling to me, was that the price for these scallops, albeit fair sized, was $14. $14 is not unreasonable for a scallops meal, but for three scallops with no sides, unacceptable in my opinion. We finished with some Oreo Cheesecake as dessert for her birthday, and we were both pleased. Definitely a very rich cheesecake. For me this rating is all based off what type of food you're in to. If you like small plates, this is probably a good place to visit. If you are looking for a good price to quality ratio and leaving with a full stomach, there are many better options available. read more

My daughter wanted to go to dinner here for taco Tuesday and I said sure. The two dollar tacos were actually quite good. We had the beef, pork and chicken. The blue cheese with the chicken was a very nice taste. For two dollars ea they were an ok size. Now as far as the five dollar margaritas well you get what you pay for, a bit on the limey side and not much of an alcohol taste. Service was OK except our waitress took our order for the food and the avocado dip at the same time. Unfortunately the tacos came at least 10 minutes before we ever saw our avocado dip And chips. She said they were probably making more of the kitchen but that's just being unprepared if you're doing taco Tuesday. Fabulous little wine bar that we frequent often. Many wines/spirits to choose from with a menu that has a little bit of everything. We went for their Thursday wine flight special and enjoyed delicious bruschetta as an accompaniment to the flight. Love the interior and their playlist is awesome. Definitely recommend. read more

Went here last night with my Fiance and my mother. He was very excited about going. We went at a busy time and we walked in and found a table and asked if we could sit there and the server said yes but there was a table that just left in the back. We went back and the table had not been bussed yet. I was patient for a while but servers would come and take a couple things off the table at a time. I was getting close to picking it up myself cause we waited probably ten minutes after being acknowledged, us and the table. Finally they took care of the table and we were able to sit down. I obviously had a poor vision of how the night was going to go. Gina our server and the one who finally bussed the table was nice, she was timely with the food and drinks. I had wine and it was really good, but I have to admit the food saved the whole experience. I had the mussels and we also had the scallops and calamari and everything was amazing. Checked out this place with The Wife and our new little pea this afternoon. In short I was really impressed. The feel of the place is like a hip urban wine bar but it is located in a suburban strip mall next to Subway. Shelves are lined with wine at reasonable prices. There is also a section for refrigerated beers and ciders at the back. I also appreciated that the prices were pretty much the same as you would get in a grocery store except that you have to pay a corking fee. Since we came on a Sunday afternoon it was happy hour which meant that there was a discount on wines food items and draft beers. Since we were not that hungry we decided just to go with the pork wings and clam spaghetti. These were both very well done - I was very impressed, the ribs were tender pork ribs fried and coated in a light sweet and sour sauce. The spaghetti clams were a generous portion of well done pasta and plentiful amount of fresh clams in a flavorful briny sauce. Service was friendly and I heard the neighboring table complain not very nicely about the dish she had. The manager listened to her complaint and without any defensiveness offered to replace the dish to make her happy. Very classy. I don't know what Broadview Heights did to start getting restaurants of the caliber of Cantine and Cork and Cleaver, but whatever it was, I'm loving it. I will be back here to try some of the other small plates. Hope this place does well. read more

Came here a few nights ago for their wine tasting. The wine was absolutely fabulous, however the service was terrible. Most of the servers were on their phone or talking to eachother. Loooooove this place. It's unexpectedly cute with a smidge of hip hidden in a strip mall. There's a small patio for warmer weather, and plenty of seating inside. You can order wine, buy a bottle off their wall (there is a corking fee in addition too the price on the bottle, but I do think it's fair), and order tapas or meals from the menu. I do find the price of their glasses of wine a bit high, so I'll typically default to a bottle. The food is good. I was really impressed with the quantity on the meat and cheese board, as well as the variety. We tried the fries, which were delicious - I mean, I've never met a potato I didn't like - but they were a good snack. We did also try the asparagus and actually didn't eat more than a few spears. This is definitely a pass - nothing special! I haven't tried a full meal here, but it's on my agenda. Overall, love this place for a casual evening out. read more

Recently met a friend for a mid-week happy hour get-together. Walked in and the place was packed and LOUD!!!! Omg- so loud. Could barely hear each other talk. Ok, I understand they are going for the cool-hip-trendy industrial vibe, but for God's sake, please install some kind of sound absorption. Happy hour prices were decent. Wines were good. We each ordered salads. My friend's arrived, and then I waited for at least another 10 minutes for mine. Although our server was very sweet, the kitchen was obviously quite off. I will not spend another dime at this place. The waiter/bartender who tended to our table (party of about 14) was a disaster. All night he kept taking order without taking notes on who ordered what. WHO DOES THAT?! You don't wait until the night is over to come ask people who bought what and still you mess up the tickets. Then he has the massive balls to chase people in the parking lot like criminals to demand that they pay for some random items that he claims weren't paid for. How did that work out for you buddy? LOL... what a joke. To the owner of Cantine here's a suggestion, send your staff across the street to Boneyard for some training on how to take orders and keep the tickets in order. 4 stars for the food and 4 stars for the service over the last 2+ years. 1 start for today's experience. Every 8 weeks, for the last 2+ years, my sister, mom and I stop for lunch after getting hair cuts. Food is always good as well as the service and we almost always have the same server. As usual we stopped in for lunch today, and it was my birthday celebration. After enjoying our lunch, my sister and mom had brought a piece of carrot and white cake for us to split in celebration. Not a whole cake, one piece of each cake. They had not asked the server to cut, nor store it in the refrigerator. When the bill came it listed a $5 cake fee. The server never mentioned this fee and she knew the cake pieces were there. I expressed my disappointment and that it was insulting and that we will not be back. She explained that it was policy because they serve/sell dessert. Policy or not, we should have been notified of the fee. She did remove the $5 fee off the bill. I couldn't care less about $5, but it is the principal of the decision to charge it, especially without notification in an empty restaurant to repeat customers for TWO pieces of self brought cake. This interaction was so unfortunate because we really enjoyed going there. And as I said to her, we will not be back. read more

We have come here many times for drinks and small plates and I've never been disappointed. All the food I've had here has been great. Especially love the baked Brie and hanger steak. And you can't beat the tacos on Tuesday for $2. Staff is super friendly, helpful and personable and atmosphere is great. Came here for brunch today for the first time and now love the place even more. My husband got the chicken and waffles and it was really good! The chicken was very crispy and the beer batter made it very flavorful. I got the bananas foster French toast and that was also great! Not to mention the fabulous brunch cocktail we got. My boyfriend and I went in here on a Tuesday night to meet a friend... and it was absolutely packed. None of us had ever been here, so we had no idea it was "Taco Tuesday." The bartender greeted us, took our name, and offered to get us a drink while we were waiting. We were seated after about 35 minutes, and had a bit of an issue with our table mates (two parties were seated at one of the long tables--not a big deal, and the issue is neither here nor there, as the bartender helped to sort it out). Luckily we'd gotten that drink before being seated, because we didn't see a waitress for quite a while. All three of us had finished our beverage and had been looking around for 10 minutes or so. Finally our waitress came over (it seemed like she was the only person working besides the bartender? Bad idea for a busy night), and asked me (no one else) if I wanted another glass of wine; I said yes, and she walked away... without knowing what I had been drinking. Surprise, surprise, she comes back 5 minutes later and asks which wine I had--my boyfriend and friend jump in to give their drink orders, too. So we get our drinks a few minutes later, and she walks away... again. Mind you, we still haven't gotten menus, heard any specials, been asked if we're eating... Next time the waitress appears at our table mates' sides, I flag her down and ask if we could have some food menus. We order, get our food, yada yada yada. The service was similar throughout the entire evening--even when it slowed down and the restaurant started clearing out. And not ONCE did ANYONE mention anything about the specials. I still have no idea what the exact deal is, but we were venting our frustrations to another friend who'd recommended the place later that week, and she told us why they were so busy on Tuesday. On food: we got a few small plates--the charcuterie board, the olives, and the pan con tomate. Largely good, though the pan con tomate was a bit bitter... too much garlic/not enough tomato, perhaps. TL;DR: If you go on Tuesday, know already that it's "Taco Tuesday" and that you will have slow service and no one will give you any indication about what is going on. The bartender will probably pay more attention (to your table) than your waitress. Tasty wine and food, for the most part. Will try this again (not on a Tuesday) to compare; may try Tuesday night again if an off night shows it's worth it. read more

Went for the first time during brunch. We both got the rise and shine burger and there was nothing we would've changed about it. Pommes Frites are out of this world and the burger is now on the Mount Rushmore (top 4) of burgers for us and we have tried a lot of them. Stopped here around 5PM on a Friday which happened to be happy hour! Small plates are $2 off!! We ordered chorizo tacos, arancini di riso, the scallops, and the soup of the day: tortilla soup. Everything was delicious! The food came out super quick in waves...whenever a dish is ready, out it comes. The chorizo tacos had a little bite and a delicious corn salsa on top. The scallops are seared perfectly - which is a plus! The arancini di riso had the perfect flavor of not-sweet red sauce. The tortilla soup was so rich and flavorful and had large tortilla chips throughout that easily broke to bite-sized pieces with the spoon. There is also a whole wall lined with wines and a huge beer cooler with local beers. I cannot wait to take my husband to have him try the beer. This is a neighborhood gem. it is located in a generic strip mall in Broadview hts on route 82. Very trendy, hipster type of wine bar with outstanding food. You can have a glass of wine or go to their outstanding selection and choose a bottle if your choice paying retail with a reasonable corking fee of $10.00. The menu has a vast selection if small plates tastefully prepared. We had pork wings served with a tangy Asian sauce. They were quite good. They were tender. They remind me of meaty pork ribs. We tried their evening special if veal meatballs in a tasty tomato sauce. The mussels we also ordered was by far our favorite. They were perfectly steamed and placed in a tomato based sauce perfectly made with sausage and garlic. We asked for extra crotini to help absorb the well simmered homemade tasting sauce. The wheat beer had a nice flavor if fruit which was not overbearing and yet not too yeasty. I look forward to sharing this hidden gem to my family and friends. read more

I am a sucker for second floors with an open layout to see down to the bottom floor, and this place had just that. With both soft and hard seating, this coffee shop sets it apart from the others nearby. Whether you are coming to be laser focused to work or are meeting a friend for a cup of coffee, this is the place to do be. The casual ambiance allows for all to come and enjoy the pleasurable experience the Loop has to offer. In addition, the baristas have a plethora of knowledge on their drinks and are able to answer any and all questions that you may have. The other best part about this place is that they have records for you to peruse and buy on both the first and second floor.
