4.5. First time visiting Michael Angelo's winery. Very nice experience. First, it was a Friday evening on a very cold (4°F) in NE Ohio. We called to find if there was availability and due to the weather there was a lighter crowd than normal. We drove down from the Cleveland Clinic at 5:15pm. Pulling into the parking lot the winery is in a residential area and grapevines surround the place. Nicely landscaped and designed facility. Inside the atmosphere is what you Would expect if visiting a winery. Smaller tables, wine racks, soft sofas, and a big bar. Really nice. We drink reds, so Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Pinot were ordered as they rated high/the best in California's latest wine competition. Young wines (less than 3 years) but good. The Pinot Noir was outstanding. Dinners are shared (I learned that) so order with that in mind. We had 1/2 loaf of bread, Vineyard Salad (excellent house dressing) and it was crisp, and Spaghetti Bolognese. All was prepared and presented very well. I'd order again. General Mgr Pete was personable and a wealth of information. Sun his graciousness, he offered a quick tour (and as a home winemaker myself) this was a treat. The production area was clean, limited in space, and organized. A barrel room is always a treat to visit and MA's is climate and humidity controlled. And of course smells fantastic. A great visit! AMAZING!!! I came here for my birthday this month and I am so glad I picked it!! This is a beautiful winery in the winter, I can't imagine how gorgeous it is in the summer! The set up is a little weird... you don't get a waiter/waitress for you table, rather you walk to the front and order your drinks and food, or you can scan the QR code in the table and order that way! We realized it's more of a family style restaurant AFTER we ordered all of our own pasta.... But no regrets!!!! If you order like we did... you get a few meals out of it! That's a win right? The 10 of us all got to try different pastas.... And let me tell you NONE of them were a disappointment! I enjoyed the Pappardelle 'Nduja, it was the perfect amount of spice and the burrata cheese on top was DELICIOUS!!! Party I attended a party at the venue and the rooms were beautiful. It was a bit confusing to find. You had to go in the main entrance and ask the hostess and then she walked me to the location. I loved the modern and elegant look of the space. Staff was great attending the bar and setting up the food. We had a buffet of pizza and appetizers with a dessert section everything tasted great. Two inconveniences- bathrooms were not in the building and it was really loud when the group was mingling. read more

This winery is fantastic! The food has only improved over the years! We ordered a few different pizzas and they were delicious. In terms of wine, they source their grapes from various regions outside of Ohio, which is why their wine is so delicious unlike many Ohio wines (sorry Ohio). When you go, you'll order in the first area you walk into, and food will be brought out when ready. Overall, it's an efficient system. They don't take reservations for smaller parties, but I've never had to to wait more than a few minutes for a table. Most impressive here is the ambiance. They have so many different indoor/outdoor options in terms of seating, and it's all beautiful. I'd say the baked goods are the weakest element. The desserts look super impressive, however, we've never thought any of them were above mediocre. Overall, this is a fun experience! read more

This was a lovely winery and restaurant. We came for lunch to cool off after a visit to Brandywine falls on a Friday afternoon. I was impressed with the ambience, the friendly service, and delicious food. For a group of 6 we shared the calamari, truffle fries, summer mix salad, and iberico pork. Love this place! Not our first time here, more like 6-7th time, but first review. There are so many great things going on here, not sure where to start.... Parking lot is clean and safe with plenty of available parking spots. No hazards for women in heels either. Inside plenty of seating, attentive staff, gift shop and a bakery too. All if this in a wide open space. There is seating outside too. Outside there were couches, chairs, tables, fireplaces too. Not to mention lowtop and hightop tables. Whatever floats your boat. If outside, you order food from a Q reader and it is brought out to you. In our case we did this bought a bottle of wine inside to bring out with glasses. The wine chise was a Cabernet Reserve ($69) was really good and worth the price point. For food, we did our version of small plates and ordered the Charcuterie Board, Calamari and Rigatoni w/Vodka sauce. Everything was excellent and we needed togo containers. I donwant to say they also do venues like bridal showers and parties. My wife said equally as good. This is a must go to if in the area and we drove here from Oxford, Mi (almost four hours) to be here. read more

The place has a nice concept and the staff seemed friendly at first, but my recent experience was unacceptable. I went with my former coworker last week, and after finishing our meals, we packed our food into to-go boxes. We stepped outside for just a few minutes while she had a smoke -- I even asked a waiter beforehand if it was okay. When we came back, our food had been thrown away and my wine glass was gone. That's completely unacceptable. We spent our money, followed the courtesy of asking staff, and still had our belongings tossed out as if we'd left for good. I left disappointed and honestly unsure if I'll ever return. I expect better care and communication from any establishment that values its customers. read more

This has been such a great addition of a winery/restaurant so close by to my home. In such a short time they have greatly expanded but the food and quality of food has always stayed consistent. It's a great place to grab drinks and finger foods with friends. Service is kind but it is order yourself and have the food delivered to your table so not much interaction with staff. 3rd review, 4 years later.. My husband convinced me to give this place another shot, for a glass of wine following dinner. We arrived at 8 o'clock on a Saturday to find a line out the door, luckily we were able to score 2 seats at the bar. Initially, my previous hesitations were alleviated. Sitting at the bar is hands-down the way to go. Outstanding service, no line for ordering entrées (even though we did not place an order this visit) all was going so well.... Until, we wanted dessert. I walked over to browse the bakery case, and then stood in a short line to place my order. The bakery case is past the line so you have to browse first, backtrack to the line and then wait to order... the line needs to be routed the other way so that you can make your selections while standing in line, the set up is completely backwards and is an utter failure. In the short time that I waited, I walked up to place my order and was told everything I had previously seen was "sold out " without getting out of line I asked the staff member what they had available for cakes and macarons... she looked me dead in the eyes and said "I literally have no idea go look" (!!) having previously just looked, I stepped aside on my tippy toes to scan the case quickly and happened to see two of the things I was just told they were out of...I informed her that I could see my selections and carried on about my order. A 6 pack of prepackaged macarons and a Cassada cake, both ready to serve took over 10 minutes to receive. I just do not understand the concept behind this place, and how it is possible for people to have an enjoyable experience here. read more

When I arrived there was ample parking and I noticed a contemporary, rustic chic aesthetic. I've had several people recommend this place to me, from a family member of the owner to a friend who recommended I come to have a glass of wine for my birthday. My first impression is that it is a nice atmosphere for me to have wine of course. Because I arrived close to closing, it was room to sit at the bar (and a table if I desired), so I sat. I was immediately greeted by a bartender (is that what you call a person who works the bar at a winery ) and informed the kitchen was closed which was ok because I only wanted wine. My friend recommended the Rosé, so I chose the 2022. It was mellow, smooth, with fruity notes and I got a nice buzz kinda quick. I did notice, like some of the other reviews that it is very loud. It's also very bright, so I'm not sure if it really lends to the ambiance of what I would expect at this time of evening, but I've never been at any other time. I feel like it was worth the short drive outside of Cleveland for my birthday and I'm willing to visit again to experience another aspect of this establishment. I was pleased. read more

Not impressed, very disappointing! Went there today for Mother's Day brunch. It was $50 a person, I was there with my family of 4. As soon as we sat down our food arrived....literally less than two minutes, I didn't even get a chance to put my flowers or my purse down, no lie. (you couldn't order off the menu you had to pre-pay for their brunch ) immediately it was all cold and not good. You got something that resembled a quiche, but tasted horrible, a soggy pizza, a cold piece of eggplant lasagna, two fruit skewer with a side of yogurt and chocolate Nutella, and a bowl of frozen cubed potatoes. You had to pay for anything additional, juice, coffee and soft drinks. We went and ordered one coffee for $4, and a half a craft of orange juice for $8. You got one and a 1/4 glasses out of the entire craft. (they didn't fill it to the top ) It was ridiculous, and so not worth the $225 I paid, as that also put a service charge on the prepaid brunch. We left most of the food and just left, so embarrassing, as I told a few people to go there, and they too were . I don't know how they managed to finagle so many people out of so much money, but it was absolutely horrible. I guess I'm the fool here, never again!! read more

Michael Angelo's always delivers! First the whole ambiance and atmosphere is fantastic and perfect for meeting up with a large group of friends and family. You can also call or schedule ahead a larger party. I love when it's warmer you can sit outside and walk around. Now the food and wine are also delicious! They have a large selection of items - something for everyone. Personally we love to order 3-4 items from the shared appetizers / bites section. The portions are generous. It's also so nice that they switch out a few menu items each season. We had the french onion grilled cheese and suppli, which were both amazing!! The shrimp and polenta were pretty good as well. Truffle fries and brussels sprouts are a go to and the Rose! You do have to order yourself at the bar or through their QR code system. Then they will quickly bring out your orders. read more

It's a very big establishment with a lot going on. It didn't feel personable and the set up for sitting outside was not efficient. We got up to order drinks/pastries because you can't do that from your table and someone else was sitting at our table by the time we got back. The pastry we got was pretty frozen and didn't feel fresh and there didn't seem to be very friendly or knowledgeable people working at the wine bar. Manager Ryan thought the best way to resolve things was by throwing a bottle of wine at us, as if that would somehow smooth things over. Completely unprofessional, bordering on dangerous. Took a while to arrive, Looked like Amish egg noodles with gravy and a few capers, The chicken breast pieces were gray and unseasoned; I'd even say microwaved. Not very appetizing!! I am updating my review after coming back with my family this past weekend. We didn't order any wine but shared several dishes. We tried the whipped goat cheese, the autumn salad, the roasted brussel sprouts, the rigatoni with vodka sauce with meatballs and grilled chicken and the fig and prosciutto pizza. Everyone loved all the dishes - the salad dressing was too think and we mostly ate the toppings off that one- but everything else was great! I think we all agreed that the pasta and pizza were our favorites. These dishes are meant to be shared so make sure to come with people you can agree with. We will come back again. read more

Well, we met some friends and family for dinner here and it was very nicely appointed. The facility itself is new and very chic. The wine is good, but overpriced. Probably to pay for the mortgage. Talk about the WORST service I've ever experienced... Michael Angelo's operates a bit differently where you don't actually have a dedicated server, need to go to the bar to order wine and scan a QR code at your table to order food from your phone. This would work fine if this system was executed properly but every single server looked absolutely clueless. I watched servers come through the dining room multiple times with one plate of food walk up to 10-20 different tables before finally setting the plate down because they had no idea which table ordered what or where the tables were located. Not only this but we waited for TWO HOURS before our food came out, which was after I went up to the food counter twice asking about our order only to be told the food would take "just a few more minutes" and that "I'm sorry but there's nothing else I can do for you and I need to attend to other customers." So after dismissing me, not offering any sort of discount, not having a manger apologize for the inconvenience, the food finally came out cold. Not even worth the wait. It looks nice from the outside but this is probably the worst service I've ever had in my life. What a waste of time and money. read more

This is such a beautiful and enjoyable winery! I treated my wife to a wine tasting, then dinner and our experience was absolutely delightful! The wine tasting took place in the fermentation area of the winery, a very quiet and different place than the bar and seating areas for dining. Jenna was our wine tasting host. She was so happy, fun, and very knowledgeable! My wife and I learned so much from her! We got to sample about four wines each and they were all quite enjoyable. Jenna took us to the barrel room, where their wines were in French (not American) oak barrels--a fact that Jenna informed us influence taste of their wines. During the one hour wine tasting two of the owners had come through and they took the time to chat with us. That pleasant experience and kindness continued all the way to our dinner. Everyone from the owners to the servers were kind and welcoming. I'm not a big wine drinker, but I can tell you that their sparkling rosé and moscato were so good that we brought them home with us. My wife and I do not like sweet wines--all of the wines we had were less sweet (even the moscato) and they were all so flavorful, too! Dinner was quite enjoyable. It was busy there, but we had a table reserved for us, which was really great to avoid having to wait. We had their delicious calamari and gnocchi osso buco--so enjoyable! If you decide to come here, they also have a beautiful bakery case. Macarons, breads and other pastries are yummy and worth buying to take home to enjoy later. Great for group dining. They really have this down to a science and the experience in the several times we have been here (over 10) with both large & small parties have been seamless. Food is wonderful, and shareable. Love it. FYI it gets kinda loud if you're sitting in the main room on a busy night, high ceilings echo. We had wanted to try this restaurant for a long time and finally made it. We stood at the entrance for a long time before a man came up and told us he would seat us. He then proceeded to walk all over the restaurant, chatting with many tables. He finally came back to us and apologized, saying he'd treat us to dessert (we never saw him or the dessert again). We finally figured out (with the help of a busboy) that the food has to be ordered on your phone. We ordered chicken piccata and a bruschetta type appetizer. The chicken arrived long before the appetizer. We were told where to go if we wanted water and that we'd have to go elsewhere for ice. Wine is only served at the bar; if you want wine, you have to leave your table and walk up to the bar. There is no such thing as a server; all the food is brought by the bus staff. I so wanted to like this place, but I will never return. Friends I've spoken with have had similar experiences. read more

This is a nice spot for a group event or a date night. It was a crowded Saturday evening, but we were fortunate to walk in and immediately fine two seats at the bar. It was very comfortable and there is a very modern look to the place. Everything was clean and the server was very attentive. My wife and I split the charcuterie plate, which I posted a picture of, and the cheese ravioli. Both were very good! We did not finish the meat and cheese, so I made a sandwich and took it to work for lunch on Monday. The ravioli was very good as well. The food came out rather quickly, especially considering how crowded it was. Pets are welcome on the outdoor patio. I do not believe they had any alcohol except for wine. There is also a large dessert bar. They have cupcakes, macaroons, and a variety of other sweet treats. My wife and I tried the parfaits because they looked delicious, but we were honestly both disappointed. It didn't really taste fresh. We will try something else the next time we go. I don't know enough of wine to pass along any judgment but it was all their own wine. The food I can judge and it was...average. The highlight was the calamari appetizer - tasty, not overly bready or greasy with a great sauce. We both got salads. She got a southwest salad that she liked enough. I got a salad with grilled peaches and opted to add chicken (why does adding chicken cost $5 who knows) and good thing I did because apart from the chicken my salad was...lettuce and 1 sliced radish with some feta and hard peaches. Super simple and rather tasteless? Also you have to go pick up your own food which I don't know why but that completely threw me.
