This is not an easy review, so bare with me here. First, the food is pretty good and the place has a definite vibe to it. You also should be prepared to wait on line, but they move people in and out pretty fast (not a plus). On our experience, my wife and myself, and kids ages 16 and 12 gave this place a go after reading awesome reviews. We waited about 30 min and were seated in the back alley, which had a cool feel to it. I think the inside was more festive, but this was ok with us. For apps we ordered the spinach in oil, and the Calamari. For mains we had the Gnochhi and the kids had pizza. The food was all good, but the apps came out the same time as the main, and the service seemed so frantic. To make matters worse the table next to us were chain smoking the entire meal. It was a combo of these not great experiences that superseded the good food. We would come back but would sit inside. To their credit the manager did track us down and apologized. read more

Absolutely loved this cute restaurant near Piazza Navona. Everything we ordered was amazing. Make sure to get the meat and cheese board and the chocolate salami. Those are a must! read more

Tourist trap!!!! Beware !!! Pizza - meh!!! Beyond mediocre ! Tasteless cheese, lots of it , doughy crust, supermarket quality . Fried artichoke, gross, soaked in low quality oil. Why kill the artichoke like that ? Mozzarella di búfala, dry mozzarella , no búfalo involved ! Just go somewhere else! Follow me for good tips ! I won't let anybody fool us! Food means a lot to me. Fried calamari and bruschetta people... you might like this place. Oh one more thing , complimentary Lily pop at the end of your meal !!! In Italy !! Absurd!! read more

Waited in line for about 15mins before being seated. It was our 3rd day in Rome and I was dying for some AMAZING pasta since the previous days were a little disappointing. I ordered the homemade pasta and the meatballs and I have to say it's one of my favorite meals in Rome! The pasta sauce was heavenly and the meatballs were super soft, and had the most delicious flavor! Would recommend if you want delicious pasta. It is a little pricier compared to most other places, but this dish was totally worth it! read more

I don't know what type of restaurant this was but it was good. This was the first restaurant we visited after getting off the plane. We walked up and, not knowing what to expect, we walked in asked if the bartender if she spoke English. She shrugged and gestured a "a little bit". When she saw me about to panic, she laughed and asked (in near perfect English) us where we were from and how many were in our party. They ask everyone where you're from because they have a menu for each major language and want to know which one to give you. The restaurant interior is very packed with lots of seating. The front of the restaurant opens right up to the street and passerby's can see into the entire front area at the diners. Good advertisement strategy! The service was pretty good. Given where we sat (in front of the bar right by the door), we were expecting be forgotten. We weren't. While our waiter didn't check on us as often as we would have liked (probably because of how crowded it was), we weren't forgotten. He came by every so often and we never had to stand up or flag anyone down. Pro-tip: If you're here on vacation, then sit back, relax, and have a bit of patience. My wife and I came when it was starting to get crowded (around 15:30 on a Saturday). There was only a small table by the front of the restaurant (literally in the entrance) looking out at the street available without a wait. It had just stopped raining, we wore windbreakers which was warm enough, and didn't want to wait so we said sure when they asked if we wanted to sit there. We were so glad we did. Instead of passing glances over the restaurant's interior and occasionally checking out what others ordered, we got the best view the restaurant had to offer - the every day passerby's of the quaint little street on which the restaurant resided. We had just gotten off the plane, and after nearly an hour of riding a train to termini plus taxi to our hotel, we were pretty hungry. However, we didn't want to spoil dinner so we just got something light. We ordered a crunchy bread with cheese and anchovies with sparkling water to start, and meatballs and bread for the main entree. The crunchy bread was delicious. The ingredients were very fresh. The melted cheese on the bread kept stretching after each bite. The saltiness of the anchovies went perfectly with the cheese and crust. The meat balls were amazing. The sauce was just a bit tangy and the meat was grounded very thin. There was so much flavor packed into each bite. We also ordered some bread to go with the meatballs, but really the bread could have been it's own thing. It was made beautifully. We could taste hints of olive oil and spices sprinkled on top. The potatoes that came with the dish were okay. We already had a lot of carbs by then so we chose to forgo finishing the potatoes. I can't comment on the price since this was our first meal. Everything came out to 26.40 euros. They accept credit card. However, unlike in the US where they take your card to swipe at the cashier's, they bring the credit card machine to your table so your card never leaves your sight. If you don't want to deal with that extra waiting of them grabbing the machine and bringing it to you, then just pay cash. read more

5 stars all the way! After eating at more places in Rome than we can count we found our absolute favorite. Yes it's a hole in the wall like all other places here and yes there is a wait, because everyone wants to eat here. The food is that good. We discovered this spot with a line wrapped around the corner. The staff offers Prosecco while you wait and everyone is in a delightful mood sharing their best travel experiences. The menu has many options but everything is absolutely amazing and the portions are gentThe cheese and pepper fries and the homemade lasagna is a must. Spritz are amazing and the servers have great suggestions for wine based on your taste. Cheers! read more

New York native here, first time in Italy. Tried this resturant out with my partner, a connoisseur of pizza, due to the the high ratings and good reviews. Small, intimate restaurant that we were lucky enough had availability immediately as it was hailing/ raining outside and were seeking an escape. Staff was bustling around, trying to not crash into one another. Our waitress was nice and gave us free shots at the end of our meal. I ordered the carbonara- it was good however it was quite salty. I do like that they put artichoke in the carbonara. My kiddo ordered the cacio e Pepe and that was good as well. The real show stopper was the focaccia we ordered- DELICIOUS! It was 30.00 for two pastas and focaccia. read more

Pretty good but not perfect. Spritzes we're great. Squid appetizer was fried pretty well but some pieces were better than others and some tasted a bit fishy. The Diavola pizza was awesome, but I wouldn't order the mushroom/sausage pizza again - bad quality mushrooms and the sausage didn't have enough flavor. The risotto was pretty good. read more

Really great place. Very cozy and welcoming. The staff was very friendly. They take very good care of everyone there. I was alone. I was seated in the back room at a great table. The decor includes stone walls, rustic wine crates and great lightening. I ordered the melon and ham as a stater. Very refreshing and a nice mix of delicious salty ham and sweet melon. I got a lovely glass of Chianti and a pizza. It was an outrageously delicious meal. And not that expensive at all. I'm so very glad I chose this place today. read more

If you have time to wait, wait, if you don't, then move on. Like all the other reviews say, there's a long line. As soon as we got in it, Jamie? Jimmy? the nicest guy ever, gave us some Prosecco. He also offered unlimited refills. We took 2 more along the way. We spent about 25 mins in line but it did move and they took groups by size, which helped. We sat right by the entrance, which was fine. We ordered beer and an aperol spritz which came quickly. 2 of us shared the Roman Artichoke, carbonara and meatball. The artichoke was cool, carbonara had great bacon, but the meatball was whatever. Server took my spritz without asking for another and I absolutely wanted one more. So that was awkward when I had to ask for a refill. Overall, not sure why it's all 5 stars. Service was okay, their best employee is absolutely the man who keeps the people happy in line. Food is okay, but I wish we went somewhere else instead. read more

Very friendly, touristy but good. Look, I'm sure the Roman's don't eat pizza like this. But that being said... crust was crispy and wonderful. The tomato sauce was bright and light, and the food came fast for lunch. Pretty sure only Americans like gooey melted loads of cheese like this, plus I'll take it. Meatball was pretty good. Cost the same as our meal at a Michelin recommended joint yesterday, which is ironic, because all though this is good it is definitely a touristy level quality. Id eat it again, but it wouldn't be my definition of Italian/Rome style food. It would be my definition of quick and easy lunch pizza. read more

Thank you Yelp for this small but packed little cafe in Rome! Line was out the door for hours but food was very good. The inside is a tight squeeze. Tables are elbow to elbow. Staff is very busy so don't expect them to be quick or constantly check on you. Order everything you need all at once to save everyone time. Roman fried artichoke - very tasty. Crunchy and full of smokey flavor Rigatoni amatriciana - delicious spicy tomato sauce with al dente pasta Meatballs with garlic mashed potatoes - tender and falls apart. Rich meaty flavor. Fried squid - perfectly battered and fried. Mozzarella zucchini salad - my least favorite cause it was really bland and nothing special. Rustica pizza - amazing. Loved the combination of toppings and the sauce. Big size too. read more

We were skeptical for waiting in line to be seated for this restaurant. We were rewarded for our patience. I'm a foodie and consider this one of the best Italian restaurant I've eaten at. The service was fast. The Food was Excellent!! The staff were friendly. We tried the focaccia bread it was different than any I'd tried before. It was like a little thicker nan bread. Highly addictive. Ask for the olive oil and balsamic to complement the rosemary focaccia bread. The meatballs and marinara sauce are Great!! The Lasgna is also Amazingly. Tight We saw this was a highly rated restaurant so we sought it out for lunch. We were not disappointed. We were seated without a wait and started looking over the menu. While I wanted pizza, my wife thought I should have Chicken Cattitore so she could have a sample. I had Chicken Cattitore. Ya know what? It was excellent. My pizza disappointment vanished as soon as the food arrived and I started in on the sauce. I'd forgotten how good this tomato based sauce with olives could be. The chicken itself was moist and very good, and there was a generous amount of that sauce. My wife got her sample and I polished off the rest. Seating was tight. We've been in Italy for a couple of weeks and have learned it is not uncommon to have your table quite close to another's table. That was the case for our lunch, and we ended up meeting and having a nice conversation with our next table neighbor. Where I was seated I was also practically blocking the only path through the dining area. Even though I moved in as far as I could, people constantly bumped into my chair or would even brush against me. I enjoyed my food but for the entire meal I also felt I was in everyone's way, which I was. Paying didn't go well. I have a trick where I bring out and hold my credit card, so in addition to trying to get the server's attention for the bill, I try to look obvious I want to pay and leave. I don't think that has ever worked on this trip, and it really didn't work this time either. We finally learned you need to go up to the register to get your bill and pay. If we look like tourists and we look like we want to pay and leave, a little more help from the restaurant to send us on our way would be nice. read more
