Lasagna was good more like how it's made in America not the way it's made, very saucy, I like how they make lasagna in Bologna where it looks dry but very moist and tasty. The gnocchi was also good. The location is situated on a very busy gastronomic street. When you get there, expect a line, as this place was very busy. However, a server welcomes you with a shot of prosecco to get your appetite going. The inside is very cozy and has a good ambiance for romance and friendship gathering. The music selection was memorable and was not monotone as there were various artists. The server was exceptionally pleasant and very amicable. Now, you may wonder why did I give it a 3 star? Well as a food critic, there are basic rules to follow in a restaurant. 1. Bread cannot be toasted for the Bruschetta. This is a basic dish that requires a semi-soft bread; not one that can possibly damage your teeth or gums. Nevertheless, the tomato were plentifull; however, the balsamic vinegar needed to be asked for. 2. The Pasta. I ordered the most simple dish that is an icon in Italy, which is Spaghetti Pomodoro. However, the pasta was undercooked by 3 minutes and the sauce was heavy (only ate a 1/4 of the plate 3. Roasted potatoes (appetizer). This dish needs to be "roasted" perhaps a bit of dill on top would help with the flavor. Again, the olive oil was asked for. 4. *****Lasagna***** This dish was actually delicious....(I did not eat it, but tried a piece of it and was definitely a better choice.... 5. The drink, iced tea is iced tea; not an energy drink. 6. Coffee was ok, although asking for an American coffee is not to an expresso. American coffee is a more blended with a soft taste. Nevertheless, the server came by with biscotti which was on point. 7. Bathroom...this is by far the worst experience. If there is anything in this world that a restaurant must have above expectations is the bathroom. The floor inside the stall was wet and there were pieces of paper on the floor. I would only use it for a number 1, but I extremely doubt anything beyond that. Just a short walk from the Piazza Navona is this gem of a restaurant. Prices are reasonable and the service is excellent. This dish was filling and kids or the inner child in yourself will love it. Excellent execution of ingredients on all fronts. Meatball was well season and you can taste how fresh the meat and sauce was. Ravioli - The ravioli here was in all words amazing. A simple and rustic dish with fresh ingredients. The restaurant lets their fresh ingredients and execution do all the talking for them. Healthy servings of sauce and cheese cover the ravioli making this dish an experience you'll never want to walk away from. Risotto - The flavors in their risotto was on point. Cheese, rice, and mushrooms in this dish were excellent. Rice was cooked al dente if that's the right term. There was some bite or chew to the rice to the point it wasn't all mush despite how much liquid/cheese was in the dish so that it wasn't just a porridge. All in all, this was a great stop for a meal. We heard stories about long waits, so we decided to go at 6:00 pm on a Friday. There was a 15 minute wait outside the restaurant wrapping around the block already. 11 minute walk in the rain at 10PM at night from my hotel- well worth it! Lol. Was afraid they wouldn't be open late as usual due to the Roman holiday and because no one answered the phone when I called. But I took a risk and soo happy I did! There was a 10 minute wait even at 10PM at night but they move quickly to seat you and place your order. The staff are gentle and kind - taking the time to provide suggestions and answer any questions you have. I was initially seated in the back corner because there was no other open table, but without asking, they suggested I move to a table that opened up in the central area which was cozier and "better seating". Not one for rating on service, but the staff deserve 20 stars! I decided to start with the Melon, Ham (prosciutto) and Arugula appetizer and ordered the Lasagna for my entree. Wished I could have ordered a pizza because they look FIRE! but since it's just single gal traveling through the city, that would have been too much food (*cry). I also got a glass of peach fruit juice which tasted oddly like canned American peaches but more natural without that strange orange color. The juice definitely grew on me! Melon and prosciutto was refreshing and that lasagna!!! So melt in your mouth delicious. Not super meaty but had enough gooey cheese and slight grounded beef to carry it through properly. If you're craving meat, get the meatballs. It seems like a specialty here! Portions are surprisingly large. During my week in Italy, this was my favorite restaurant that we visited! The food was phenomenal. The staff was so beyond friendly. While we were in line outside waiting to be seated, they handed out complimentary Prosecco! To start we got the calamari (PLEASE TRY IT) and focaccia. I ordered the cacio e pepe and that was the most delicious cacio e pepe I have ever eaten. My fiancé got the carbonara, which was also outstanding! Be mindful that there's sardines in it, so if you're not a fan just so you know. But the winner here was the good ol' spaghetti and meatballs. My sister jumped on it before I could take a picture. That sauce was the most delicious red sauce in this whole world, I swear. The meatballs, OMG. That whole dish was just such an experience. Lastly, we finished the meal off with tiramisu. Wow again. So delicious. It was served in a cappuccino cup and gave a decent amount. When we thought we were done, they gave complimentary liquor. What kind? Beats me. I learned Italians are big on finishing a meal with liquor, especially limoncello. No idea what brown liquor was served to is, but it was strong and delicious. A lot of places show open in afternoons but are not - C e C is open through the afternoon and that is a good time to come as evening there will probably be a line. We'd read reviews about the spaghetti & meatballs (hindsight 20/20 with this being an American dish) so we ordered that along with the carbonara. Food was basic & good, but comparing to other meals in Rome, it would rank further down on the list. This is not an easy review, so bare with me here. First, the food is pretty good and the place has a definite vibe to it. You also should be prepared to wait on line, but they move people in and out pretty fast (not a plus). On our experience, my wife and myself, and kids ages 16 and 12 gave this place a go after reading awesome reviews. We waited about 30 min and were seated in the back alley, which had a cool feel to it. I think the inside was more festive, but this was ok with us. For apps we ordered the spinach in oil, and the Calamari. For mains we had the Gnochhi and the kids had pizza. The food was all good, but the apps came out the same time as the main, and the service seemed so frantic. To make matters worse the table next to us were chain smoking the entire meal.
