I like that they have a GPS tracker so you can see what time they came and left. Sometimes they even send a picture of your pet, which definitely brightened up my day at work. I'm sure this service has saved me from a lot of poop and pee on the floor. It was easier to focus at work knowing I wouldn't come home to a mess or feel a lingering guilt about them being alone for 9+ hours a day. I wouldn't hesitate to use Chico and Chums again.

Allison and I attended the same college for the same degree, so we knew each other back in the day. We ran in similar circles. But this was 20 years ago. We hadn't spoken since college. I ended up moving to Austin a year ago for a job which required A LOT of travel. I saw a Facebook post that Allison had a pet sitting business. I contacted her because I felt like I was abusing all my friendships by asking them to take care of my cat while I traveled. Allison and I had a quick and energetic catch-up on the phone and scheduled a consultation. Allison and her partner came over to my house, and met my cat, Dewey. They quickly bonded. What surprised me the most was how professional this business is. Allison had a bunch of paperwork to go over with me. It was a legit operation. They have a website with a login where I can schedule services and pay my invoices. This has become one of the most useful aspects for using Chico and Chums. I can schedule a service on my portal and know that everything will be taken care of. A few months ago Dewey had some bladder problems and was on medicine. I had to go out of town for work and was terrified to leave him. Chico and Chums took great care of Dewey, and gave him his medicine, and gave me detailed updates. I was still a bit worried, so I asked for Dewey to be taken to the vet to make sure he was still okay. C&C was able to interact with my vet on my behalf and it really was a relief to know Dewey was in good hands. Now when i have to go out of town, I just immediately schedule service with Chico and Chums. I stopped asking my friends to help out because, honestly, you get what you pay for. The ease of scheduling and peace of mind that comes from using Chico and Chums is worth every bit of money I pay them. This has eased my stress and guilt about leaving my cat while I have to travel. I'm so thankful that I found a reliable and trustworthy pet sitter. I know Allison personally and can vouch for her character, and she will love your pet like it's her own. Thanks Chico & Chums. You're the best!

We thought the last sitter was good but these guys are even better. Beth is our sitter and our three cats just love her. She keeps us informed with texts and pics while we're away and always lets us know if there is anything that might need attention. We love the convenient web site which lets us put in our reservations well in advance, too. The prices are very competitive with other services we looked at. Unlike some other services, the initial consultation was free. We are happy travellers now, knowing that our kitten-kinder are in good hands while we are away!

We can't be more thrilled with the level of service and care Susan gave us and our kitties! We now know we can head out on a trip and the fur-kids will be home in their own environment and taken care of!! Thanks again to Susan for taking care of Zephy and Zavi!! You are the very best!!!

UPDATE: Owner called, was very understanding and supportive. We're going to give them another try…read moreand do a re-do review once appropriate. On 8/9/2020 our puppy went for the 1st time in his 3 short months of life to puppy socialization classes at the S. Lamar location (12 noon slot, as he's 17 pounds). We were so excited for him, taking his first step into puppy training/dog training which we're big supporters of. Both of our other dogs have had training including getting their AKC Good Citizen Certificate, but we lived in a different state at the time, hence our quest for a new trainer in Austin. Well, we were so disappointed with the quality of the experience we had to share this with others. We returned to pick him up about 10 min early and, like many others there, we looked through the glass at the puppies playing. What we observed were two very frustrated employees dealing with out of control puppies. The pups were given no guidance, they were knocking plastic dividers down (one fell on our pups head), and given treat after treat with no command- just stuffing them in their mouths. The "class" is finally over and we go in to speak with the employe and the conversation was shocking- She first said our dog cried at the door for 20 minutes "his separation anxiety needs to put under control". Well, we realize he's scared to be left alone. He was rescued at 5 weeks from a bad situation, we're all working from home and he see's us all day and the fact that we took him there indicates we realize there's a problem we'd like to help not get criticized about. Secondly, and this was the part that really, deeply saddened me. She said "he seems to have a short fuse, you know how his breed is". He's a pit bull, we have 2 others. No, we don't know "how his breed is", we don't make breed generalizations, we know it's the owner not the dog and I'm shocked a 'dog trainer' would say something like that. All with a look of 'I hate my job, hurry up and leave. so I can get on with my day' look on her face. Needless to say, it was a tough first experience for our puppy and even tougher for us to sit through when someone is making ignorant remarks about a dog's breed because of frustration or dissatisfaction in her job.

I first took him to these classes when he was about 10-weeks old, so it's a great way for him to socialize with other dogs while he's still in the midst of getting his vaccinations. The trainers are great. They are always open and eager to answer any questions I may have. Just knowing that I have the team in my back pocket helps ease any anxiety I may have about being a new puppy mom. Kate has been especially fantastic! I had to go out of town for a work trip pretty last minute, and she was able to watch Woody for a few days while I was gone. She even gave him a little nail trim :) I felt completely at ease and comfortable knowing that my puppy was in good hands. Thank you so much for everything you do!
