She was right in the end, but only after great efforts on Gayle's part to procure a wheelchair, portable commodes, and ice machine for the knee, not to mention meals, condition monitoring, and spending almost a week away from home. MIL wildly underestimated what was needed, maybe out of pride, stubbornness, or need for control. Gayle was happy to help, and while MIL was very grateful, it was both a fulfilling and frustrating experience. We immediately needed the wheel chair and Mobility Concepts was there for us. First it was a rental and then as recovery continued, we ended up buying it. Store staff helped us get what we needed. The wheel chair was more expensive than Amazon, but sometimes in a key situation, saving a few bucks is not the point. The location is a bit hard to find in North Carson City. You turn off on Hot Springs Road, and immediately look for a rainbow store front just past a quick turn on Sage. You enter through what looks like a giant vitamin/supplement store, with the mobility equipment being in the next room to your left.

Sunday morning we went to the ER, and they took an x-ray of that in my ribs, and they said my hip was broken, so your femur bone that comes out of your joint that neck area right there broke in half Ouch! So they took me by transport vehicle to Northern Nevada Medical Center, where I had scheduled surgery in a couple hours after that . And then he met me in my room at Northern Nevada Medical Center. It was a really small room, but I was glad to be by myself. Well, I said surgery was scheduled at 6 PM, but they took me at 3:30 and I was actually in recovery by 5:30. Seem to go pretty easy. Man I'm still a week later in so much pain, but hopefully I'm getting better. We installed this chairlift and I was so surprised he came on Thursday and had it installed on Sunday That was so fast and I'm so happy I can now go upstairs and sleep in bed with my hubby instead of downstairs by myself. Thanks, Nevada mobility for letting me be able to get around a little more. I kinda laugh about it now because it's like official old farts with a chairlift, but hey if I can move around, but better, I will take it. I'm in love with it, when I asked him if you guys do it so fast he says yes we'd like to keep some in stock because people like you. He says we do our best to get it installed pretty fast. I said we were only going to be there for a day and a half. He thought about it and said that he would do it for $125.00. Even thought that was a lot we needed it. He said he would bring it the next morning. I said I would think about it and call back. Within the hour I called back. A women answered took my name and said that she would have Don call me back. The next morning he called. He now had a waiting list. I was the first one on the list, but now once again he said that it was a three day minimum. I said we had agreed on the one day. But since he could get more money now he said we could not have it. This company does not care about the health and welfare of customers, but the more money he can get. Usually less than 10 minutes. The pharmacist will come out and review your prescription with you if it's the first time you've had the drug prescribed at their pharmacy. My husband walked in with a prescription for pain medication for me, while I was in the hospital recovery room following surgery. I also needed Tylenol. They directed him to the Tylenol, and by the time he chose a bottle, my prescription was filled. He was impressed by the speed of the pharmacist, and the care of the pharmacist to make sure he understood the side effects of the medication and what to watch for. I live on the west shore of the lake. I started coming here after too many 45 minute waits at the CVS in Tahoe City to pick up a refill which was ready and sitting on the shelf. I live 20 minutes from Tahoe City, and 30 minutes from South Lake Tahoe. It is well worth the time spent driving (sorry earth, I know I'm burning gas) to go this pharmacy, than wait for hours to get a new prescription filled in Tahoe City. And it's a pleasant experience. I don't know why there aren't many reviews for them. I guess the patrons of this pharmacy want to keep it their secret. If you go there, please pick up your other non-prescription pharmacy needs. Let's keep this home town pharmacy in business. Their service is worth a few extra bucks.

4/7/26 I need a new…read morewheelchair. This one needs power or power assist. My current chair is 12 years old, doesn't have that and I've now got long term injuries to my shoulders and wrists. It's not working well for me at this stage of my life. Is this company reliable? I did business with NuMotion in Fresno, CA for my previous wheelchair. I don't remember having any problems. They were kind as far as I remember. Here in Nevada... NuMotion refuses to work with me because they insist my insurance makes them do an "at home" evaluations and since I live in North Dakota they can't do an at home evaluation. My insurance only covers me in Nevada. I have to get the wheelchair "prescribed" in NV and filled in NV and the insurance says that no evaluation is necessary. So where's the problem? NuMotion won't sell me the chair because they "need" to do an "at home evaluation". Chrissy or Christie at NuMotion spent 15 minutes on the phone lying to me and telling me it was my insurance... when it very plainly is not. It's her company. Three separate insurance reps from Anthem that I spoke with said that they just pay for it. They don't need any home evaluation. The DOCTOR thought I needed a new chair (that's a long medical story) and the company asked to sell me said chair refuses to because they can't see my house?!? It feels like discrimination. The PT that was set up to do my eval said that a large number of the patients she sees are HOMELESS and here I'm the one being told that they can't help me because while here in NV, I live in a camper. (4 months of the year.) They COULD go through NuMotion in my home state but refuse to do that. Further... I feel by what "Chrissy" said to me was discriminatory. *UPDATE, I talked to Renee today 4/8/26. She confirmed everything I said here. She also confirmed it is NUMOTION that is denying me service. She confirmed it's because I'm in a camper 4 months of the year. 4/9 - Numotion customer service at corporate called. What a joke. She changes the story to: we can't sell you a wheelchair because my state of residence isn't in Nevada. That's stupid. First, it's the state of my INSURANCE. Second, I know d*mned well that the snowbirds I know get care where they need it. Even if they aren't in their "home" state. How ridiculous. They got it in their head that they were going to act with prejudice and discrimination toward me. And did.

We understand that it takes awhile to get approval from the insurance company, order all the parts and put it together. Customer service was great communication through our Numotion app and via phone. Randy came to the house and put the finishing touches on the chair. He helped with instructions and my son did a test drive. So happy and grateful. The folks at Numotion were awesome!
